I think your being very bias toward bigger brakes. The stock brakes were fine, put hawk or Pmu front pads.. granted if your on the brake constantly you will see fade. Silvia brakes are slightly bigger and when I went from stock to silvia to J30 to Z32, the biggest difference I saw were the Z32.

Stock 19 year old calipers are utter garbage. J30 upgrade is going to be perfect. Did you know the rear calipers are the same size? The only real difference is that Z32s have fixed calipers and not sliding like J30s. I'm also planning on running a 4.36 R&P to help give the KA a little bit of help.

I really don't want to hear what you think about my build. I posted this build so I could document it and show others what I was planning.

i'm not biased. i'm only recommending what works. better pads are a good start but they will never compare to bigger calipers, pads and rotors

I didn't realize we were in the 3rd grade. Dude, seriously, dont make a build thread if your not going to take advice. Like I said before Im putting my two cents in because Ive had several drift cars and Im telling you what worked on mine. Sorry I'm polluting your thread with good cheap ideas.PS: that 4.36 was/is a good diff, but usually worn down, vlsd's dont lock as well as they should and will unlock if letting off (especially in tandem) but will be good for your "drift sometimes" car.

White comet: I said they'd work, I never said they were better, otherwise why would I have Z32 calipers in the front on my car? I have the D1spec pads in the rear with factory calipers and work fine.

Build threads arent about people getting advice...unless tthey ask for it. They are there to show and document their build-so chillax man dont get so defensive.

I fully understand that viscous' suck... Which is why I'm wrapping the 4.36 ring and pinion around a welded or a 2 way. Yeah, in no way have I asked "how should I build my car, guys?" I'm telling YOU how I build MY car. Thanks.

Get off the guys a**. No one has the same opinion on how to build a car. That's why people have build threads to share their own personal opinion of what they prefer in a car build. Keep the good work up Doug. Im glad I know a guy and a crew that got balls and appreciates the JDM side of cars, not the lame show factor.

VLSD

Mine won't even lock AT ALL anymore. Welded or 2-way for sure.

+1 for build how you want it.Why is the s15's helical diff. being left out? That's my favorite.

I took out my vlsd to put a welded in. Always locked > sometimes locked.

Other than that looks good homie. Valve cover looks muy bien.

Got some cheap wheels with good tires. Falken ZX-912s 205/50/16. Lowered the front as well, but need to go a lot lower!

yes
zeedakay wrote: if not are the tinted tails for sale?
noand you could have asked in the thread about that car instead of in doug's. maybe its just me but i find that to be a weird question. if the car wasn't functioning doesn't mean the owner is going to part it out. heck, my car isn't functioning yeah but i'm not selling parts of it
