nah. its not that bad, haha. It is interesting to see what people are doing these days. Eventually the SR20 will be harder to come by and it might drive the price up for doing a swap. So, if there are people out there who have done or thought of doing something completely different, then its interesting...except for the ones who talk about Honda.

I really wanna see a diesel 240. I haven't looked over seas, but as for USDM Nissan diesels, it's pretty slim pickins. I know there was a carbed diesel hardbody in the 70s/80s, but I wouldn't want something that old. If you went diesel, you could build your own bio-diesel refinery and then fuel would be basically free. I don't know how a diesel would do for drifting, though, and it would definatly throw off the balance of the car as diesels always are heavier than gas burners. As for the honda f20/22, that's a very complex swap that requires alot of fab work. The gear shifter doesn't line up with the whole in the s-chassis. That D1 guy who totalled his LSx Sky has one in a drop top s13. They featured it in super street not too long ago. I think it's the Sears car, can't remember the driver's name.

I'm a genius! Throw some "normal" motor in the hatch. Thats right, a mid-engined 240, build it and I will worship you.

My memory may be a bit fuzzy, but I think I saw a Tiburon that the guy made into a race car and put a motor in the back. Why he did that, I do not know, but it was pretty cool. I think it was twin charged and ran on methanol.

Yah, SCC did an article on that tiburon. Twin engine, each with a trubo, methanol injected. I thought I read the car was created for street race gamb|ing....

I used to have the crazy dream of fanagling an ej257 into a zenki s14. Always thought that would have been sweet. Figured the lower COG would be awesome for the track. That and I love that boxer exhaust note.

That or a 4g63t with a conquest trans.

The fact that you had to go and say that just means you don't have much imagination at all. Also, just getting another car doesn't solve anything. IF someone bought an Alfa, then they would still have an Alfa that they would think about changing to make their own. So they would be in the same position. Plus, this thread is just to see what people would ever WANT to do with their car.

As for the M3 motor, I think it would be interesting, considering that older 3 series cars get SR20's thrown in them as a common swap.

Ice2CU wrote:Well, a thought came across me today about swapping my motor out of my 240. But the majority of 240 engine swaps I have seen have revolved around certain engines (i.e. the ones in the subject). I also wondered what other engines people may have put, or tried to put, in their 240s. I have considered pulling my resources and try for a 2.0 L ecotec turbo out of a solstice/sky. Of course it would be a fantastic project, chock full of custom fabrication and a hell of an electrical setup...but: Has anyone ever tried it? Don't know.

Has anyone ever tried to swap an engine different of the typical swaps we see today?
How about a 26B motor with 4 rotors and 4 turbos? 1000+HP, 10,000K RPM and an engine note that makes Lamborghini drivers jealous...

As long as you are willing to give up hearing the exhaust note. I don't think I would mind because I would have something made that would play the exhaust sound through my speakers

Ok ok, how about a 500hp turbo hyabusa? I don't have a clue as to how you would do the transmission setup, but I know it's been done with a rear wheel drive car before.

Hell, I'm pretty sure they race mini sized 30's model coupe style cars powered by busa engines at my local track...

Obviously it wouldn't be worth it stock...but 500hp, 9,000rpm, and breakneck response would be cool, right?

You'd need two 13b motors and the parts from the dealer. It would certainly be ridiculously powerful and draw a lot of attention. It's certain to be featured in some import rags, too. Be ready to shell out the green, though!

I'd rather have a LS vs a RB26 the LS is cheaper to build, buy and maintain it weighs less and makes the same power.

I do like the look of the Rb26

What I want to see done is the TB48 4.8L of i6 Nissan goodness but I bet its really heavy probably only good for a drag car if it can be fit.

I hope your talking about the 4g63 FWD block don't forget there's a rwd block as well. You can swap internals and heads I doubt its as strong but theres always sleeving

But why use a mitsu engine?

If I had my choice of any 2.0L in the world it would still be the SR
