I noticed a new TSB for the shift interlock solenoid noise - it appears to apply to any Nissan vehicle with the audible "click" noise when apply the brake.

Subject: SB A/T Shift Interlock Solenoid "Click" Noise
Summary of NTB02045:
If an applied vehicle exhibits a clicking noise from the A/T shifter area every time the brake pedal is pressed: · When the vehicle is stopped OR · When pushing the brake pedal while driving. A Noise Damper Kit (PN 34998-3Z000) is now available to resolve this incident, if it should occur. See this bulletin for further detail.

My button sticks sometimes when I try to take my Rogue out of park and into drive. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I've tried turning the car off and starting it back up. Sometimes that does that trick. I have also tried wiggling the shifter and sometimes that works. Should I take it back to the dealer? Any responses would be appreciated, thanks...

Yes I do, so I'll probably just call the dealer later today. I'm not so savy with fixing stuff myself. I just wanted to see if other people had a similar problem. ImStricken I always appreciate your feedback. :)

yea, this was a common issue on the earlier models, so im surprised it struck you. its common on almost every car. its not something you should really get involved, if you have the warranty. its a quick easy fix if your off of warranty, but if you replace the parts its something to the tune of $500. so let them eat it, and do it right. :) let us know how you make out.

Good deal. I have a 2012 as well, but so far no issues.

This morning was the most difficult time I have had trying to get out of park. I didn't think I'd get out of my driveway to get to work. Hopefully things will go smoothly at the dealer...

i figured that would be the result. at least its under warranty! :)

if it gives you problems in the meantime, just use the manual override button.

I had to wait 1.75 hrs. Not horrible my dealership at least has wifi. I had to waste 5 hours of PTO between both days...

I just wanted to say a quick thank you to this board. The other night my husband and I were out of town about an hour from home when suddenly without any warning my 2012 Rogue wouldn't shift out of park. While my husband fumbled with the manual I googled "rogue won't shift out of park" found this forum and we were able to quickly (albeit temporarily) solve our problem. I've had to use my key to manually fix this every time I've driven my vehicle over the last week but at least we weren't stranded out of town. So thanks. Unfortunately I'm no longer under warranty - seems this is a rather common issue for Nissan - you'd think they'd fix this issue.

this maybe an old post but this issue just happened to me with my 2013 pathfinder (i know wrong page :) ) anyway im taking all the info i've learned from this post and calling my warranty company tomorrow and also going to bring the Nissan to another dealer (first dealer said it isnt covered under warranty and itll cost $721 for new AT shift assembly) if all else fails you know ill be contacting Nissan directly :) thanks for all the help (i built a pretty good document of comments and points to bring up in my conversations) ;)

I can't understand all the trouble with that solenoid, I routinely remove it or disable it on other vehicles to no longer affect anything at a cost of nothing. It's really only a child preventing thing, stopping them from putting car in gear when dumb parents leave key in car.............with no children you don't need it at all. They can also be an indicator of a battery about to go bad.

We also see now how many people never read the owner manual................the workaround is in there.
