Quick photo updates from today:

IC Piping below is bothering me:

Here's the solution:

Water To Air IC kit. The Intercooler will be mounted in the engine bay along with the additional slim rad and pump. It'll be water/antifreeze cooled. This will shorten the IC piping, remove the need for the IC behind the bumper (which wont fit with the GTR from fascia) and it'll be just cleaner overall. I'll update when it gets here.

I think the intercooler pipe looks sexy stickin out like that but it would bother me pretty quickly too.

So was there ever a grand total for all the parts? not including the AEM FIC and other parts that werent needed/ didnt work.

And how close are we to seeing some dyno numbers?

Hopefully soon. Main thing at this point is waiting for the air to water kit and doing some more street tuning before we hit the dyno. Still trying to decide on a final boost target and therefore which injectors to go with. STI pinkies are currently in there but unless the boost gets upped a bit, its overkill and we'll probably make better numbers with something a little smaller. Only time will tell!

PS. Here's what we were up to last night.

Quick? lol. still have not put the water to air IC setup on. Was busy moving etc. Hopefully sometime in the next couple weeks. 400cc injectors came (regular wrx). Those will be going in too.

Needs to be cleaned up obviously, but it''s installed. Can you say no turbo lag? Instant boost lol. Right from the turbo to the intake ftw. The clear hose was needed to make sure all the air go out of the system and to diagnose any coolant non-flowing issues in the future. Works 100% awesomer lol. Still need to get the injectors in (regular wrx injectors). Then another tune = yay!

I'll update as it goes. Hasn't blown up yet lol.

Oh, and the tail light mod has been completed...

Don't worry, we reversed the filaments so it works better and you can actually see the brake lights and such. I'll get a new video probably tonight. :)

Nice build, I was really wondering about who did that tail video. I wouldn't mind trying that.

Been working on this. Sanded with 2000 Grit. Primed (first coat). Before doing any more I need to do a fitment test friday night and drill the holes to mount it. Paint on saturday :).

Blow Off Valve came on tuesday. Probably do that tomorrow after work.

Ah a good week.

It's very durable, it's pretty thick and they did an EXCELLENT job making it. It fits like a glove. I dont even have to trim anything. Holes are drilled for the push clips and bolts. Just needs to be sanded again and then painted. Done. I have the side skirts and rear to do as well.

Obviously not pushed in on the sides, but it fits great. I was excited and took two pics before pushing in the sides LOL.

First and foremost congratulations with everything you have succeeded in doing thus far. You truly have paved the way for everyone else who would like to go this route (ME..eventually, ya know after college loans paid off lol). The only bummer is it seems you have removed the most recent videos that are showing the performance of the car :-/ Do you have any new ones or even a column mounted view of the dash so i can just get a sense of the performance?

No video, but the eBay turbo decided to take a s***... keep in mind, it now has 25,000kms on it roughly... just rebuilt it today for 35 bucks (ebay rebuild kit). It seems when they made the turbo they might have used a bad bearing. Also the seal went inside (thus the oil burning it was doing recently).

Here's the turbo apart earlier this day:

All rebuilt now, no shaft play at all. No more oil burning. Win.

Lets see if I can get another 25,000kms out of it :D.

The car at idle earlier today was like a james bond smoke screen had been activated, it wasn't pretty lol.

Are any of the turbine fins messed up? You should check carefully for any hairline cracks on the fins and the shaft.
