Has anyone ever made a kit to turbo the 2.5 coupe or is making your own kit the only option?

speedforce racing makes a 2.5 kit.

I can only find the sedan kit not one for the coupe. Doesn't seem like there is one out there unfortunately.

The engine bays are the same.

I must be missing something, every kit I can find for the 2.5L QR25 engine has the disclaimer "This system does not fit the 2.5L Coupe!".

This seems to indicate that the engine bays aren't the same.

most likely a little fabbing will be needed for the piping to fit. But that should be expected if you are buying a cheap kit

It is likely at least a piping issue. While the engine bays may be the same, installing a turbo kit with an intercooler isn't restricted to the real estate available in the engine bay. The coupe has a different front fascia than the sedan, which is likely the reason the kit isn't guaranteed to fit.

Another major component to understand here is the matter of the turbo manifold and its connection to the remainder of the exhaust - the coupes have an entirely different exhaust setup, and it is likely that the coupe and sedan do not share the same OEM exhaust manifold. It is highly likely that the turbo manifold included is welded and bent to mate up to the sedan's mid/testpipe section, and it is probably significantly different as such from the coupe. The turbo manifold is one of the biggest pieces of this turbo kit, and when you figure in the different piping, it is not likely will not be worth the money over buying your own turbo and going custom from the start.

The SFR kit is incomplete for the coupe. Lots of custom piping/exhaust/downpipe as Xenon said.

The injectors are the WRX STI Pinks 565cc. The 440s would "just" be enough but for the pain in the a** it is putting them in just get the bigger ones. I believe they're cheaper as well as they're more common. I got mine on ebay VERY cheap.

BTW this car is still running mint. No oil burning, last turbo rebuild is holding up. No other maintenance issues at this point minus a leaking oil return from the turbo to the oil pan that was addressed.

Totally happy with it now that it's "get in and drive" and no more BS fixing crap. Obviously every week popping the hood to inspect. But thats general maintenance anyways.

Car is still smashed on the driver's side... should probably get that fixed at some point lol. :(

Decided to finally get the smashed side of the car fixed.... lol Goes in Monday!!

BTW still boosted and running fine. As for a maintenance update:

1. Replaced some wires from the ECU to the SAFC to prevent and fix some issues.
2. Intercooler was rubbing on the ECU and put a frickin hole through the casing. ECU IS FINE thank god. That's been patched. lol...

Other then that, business as usual. Winter tires are going to be write off before the snow comes lol...

I'll see if I can grab one this weekend before it goes to the shop.. Working night shift sucks.

Never been on a dyno, street tune only. I dont really care about the numbers and this is probably the best it's going to get anyways.

I'll grab a pic of the oil lines too. It's messy, but it does the job.

Didn't have a chance to grab pics, not enough light at night to see it. I dropped it off at the body shop yesterday. I'll grab the pics of the repairs and the lines and crap when it's done. :)

Sorry haven't been on here in a long time. Everything is fixed. Working night shift. If I remember i'll grab pics as soon as I can.

Importroller:

Turbo was replaced by another ebay turbo after it was rebuilt once.
BOV was replaced by another 35 dollar HKS BOV this winter. (3rd cheap BOV lol).

That's it. Intercooler was switch from air to water to air. Everything else is from the kit.

WRX STI Pinks 565cc for injectors. 440s might be OK, but cutting it close. I wouldn't go over 7psi on the 440s.

I'm ready to get an FRS though, car is boring now.

Hey All,

I haven't been here in forever. Car still runs but it's up for sale. Fully tuned on UpRev, turbo is burning a bit of oil, other than that it runs mint. Not issues to report. I ended up moving half way across the country for work and left the car behind. No, nothing will be parted out.

The pictures above are amazing. I'm glad someone else stepped up and did a "proper" turbo set up. Looks mint and a LOT cleaner than mine.

This is what i just bought... (not my pic) I pick it up this week. Fiat 500 Abarth.

Let the modding begin lol...
