Sentra is nothing 'Exciting' to be attactive. If you haven't looked at it lately, it looks more like a mini-van.

There are plenty of people (including women) who are opposed to Mini-van cars. They may not be tuners or drifters, but they'll buy the Civic Si coupe over the Sentra.

But the question is, would you be more interested in it if it were rwd? Just like would you be less interested in the 240 if it was fwd...

If I want a boring RWD, I'll take Lexus Altezza over Sentra. But yes, RWD is more attractive than FWD without any front to rear balance.

I dont get whats wrong with trying, is there any harm in it. Are we going to lose money in this if we try and pettion <sp> to that nissan dude. If we never try we dont know. And if we fail we keep trying, its like building your 240 most of us have a 240 that will fail at one point, do we just throw it away and call it quits and get another car no! We go at it and try fixing it. Its no difference in trying to get him to atleast get a concept out. I see no harm in asking, worst comes to worst we get told no over and over again, so we have all been told no to certain things and yet we still try. (im serious about thisdont go into some sexual pun cuz there is one) I say S16 two models hatch back and coupe, hatch comes with pop up lights open diff. 4 wheel disc abs , cloth interior 16 in steelies and some type of turbo charged car, one up from this would be 16in sport rims sport suspension a bit of subtle aero little add ons to the interior, projector headlights and vented 4 pot brakes

The coupe base model same wayjust instead of pop up lights, it comes with regular lights (what ever there called ) same motor same 16in steelies and the one up model same thing as above with projectors and all,

of course the base models includes as usual maual windows locks with the usual features pwr brakes pwr steering cd player 4 speakers the usual

the one up model on both would include auto up and down feature on windows 6 disk cd changer little more boomier audio better seatsand it will also have everthing stated above such as brakes steering and etc...

Other options that are interchangeable between both 17in sport rims some type of lsd the aero and the usual nismo stuff

and that shouldnt be more the at most 25k maybe a bit more if you go with 17's

ohh and of course it has to be Rear Wheel Drive ...AWD would be too expensive

See, that's what OPTIONAL means.

I mean, one guy can afford. $30K for his car. What choices does he have?

A. 350Z - Coupe, RWD, 300bHP V6B. Mustang (whatever) - Coupe, RWD, 333bHP V8C. Subaru STI - 4Door, 300bHP I4 Turbo, AWDD. EVO X- 4 Door, 300bHP I4 Turbo, AWD

I want Option E. S16 - RWD for $20K with OPTIONAL V6 Twin Turbo 500bHP for $10 more.Cheaper interior? He doesn't care. No AWD feature? He doesn't care. Only babies can sit in the rear? He doesn't care.He wants a God-Damn Corvette killer for $30k and there he has it.

The same applies to someone who wants a coupe with AWD but doesn't care for Turbo (yet). Or someone who wants nice interior RWD manual car. Or maybe Auto/Paddle trans for driving in the traffic as well as having fun sometimes. They just pay for the features they want and nothing more.

i dunno about the whole awd, and twin turbo v6, all that crap. the whole mystique and why i love my s-chassis is because bouncing in at one ton, lets just face it, thats pretty badass. its meant to be a simple design, format, and options wise, wasn't CRAZY. i think the less the better.

no in-dash, touch screen navigation BS. power windows, heated seats, sunroof, leather/microfiber, crap like that. but for sure a special edition with maybe a smaller displacement turbo motor that make a little bit more ponies, but nothing like a gt500 with double the horsepower from factory

to be honest i'd love to see a good 3litre 250-300rwhp, make it n/a, all alum. 4cyl with a forged rotating assembly. a good head design like the QR25de motors running CVVT that would kick it at a modest 5000-5500rpms for those nice highway on-ramps. and a 8000-8500rpm or so redline would be fantastic.

drive train wise i wouldn't mind paddle shifter or a 5/6spd manual option, definitely a 2-seater though, because lets face it, just because it has a backseat, doesn't meant people fit in it. would like to see a factory HLSD make its way in there. and most importantly, a factory coil over styled suspension needs to make its way in there, handling needs to be the key focus like it was

since when you say 240, most people think of the hatchbacks, but i'd love to see an s15 styled body with some nice curves going on. thats my rants for today, i've been tossing my design around for a while now, i think it'd be a smart move, give the mustang boys some import competition in the rwd department.

when a company resurrects an older car they usually destroy it in the process. look at the Malibu, impala, hummer, Monte Carlo, 300c, charger, duster(escort), bronco II, cougar or gto. all those got messed up and came out all crappy FWD yes they are all American but there are not that many jap car companies that were around before the 50 and still in existence today if they were around they didn't start coming over here till after WWII

That's because American car designers are just kissing up the higher ups and they don't have guts to make actual inspirational designs. Something like Scion design went to Toyota even though they were American designs.

Look what Ford and GM put their money into in the last few years.More F-150 and Blazers. It was just pathetic how the entire companies went down hill for lack of inspiration and idea.

Dude are you high? Lets petition carlos goshn so he can pull out his magic fairy dust and put the leprechauns in the assembly line to work on this right away. Why would Nissan want to compete WITH ITSELF, with the Z33? The things you listed are basically a 350Z. I know I dont speak for everybody here, but how many of us here have 5k in the bank for a down payment plus $300 or more a month for payments and $200 a month for insurance? Not many. If there was a demand for it, Nissan would be building it. They do market research for a reason.

^ wheres the demand for the GTR? its expensive isnt it. I know you nor i will be able to afford it. A 15-25k car would be more affordable would it not, who said it had to rival the Z The S chassis were out at the same time as the Z32 and Z31. where they not. What the hell is wrong with trying, i wouldnt mind trying if i had more ppl to back me

the demand for the gtr comes from the current demands for the z06 and shelby gt500. cars only created to put down numbers and fcuk up the track. its not ****ty tuner car. you said you wanted a 500hp car for 30k... no matter what you say, you will never overcome the stupidity of that statement

^Okay first off. did you even read my first post on here. No where did i say anything about being 300 hp+ id be happy with atleast 220 hp on production line 240. And as to the GTR statment, i highly doubt that the ppl that can afford to buy them will use them on the track. Only really track time it will see will be on professional level. No go and read my first post there isnothing obsecne or insanely over priced. in there

Twin turbo V6 and CHEAP, just do not belong in the same sentence. Hell, V6 and S Series don't belong in the same sentence. The S series cars are known for their simpleness, optional turbo 4 banger motors, and most of all...price. Above all, I really don't think the S series cars were designed around all performance. They were cheap alternatives to Nissan's other two actual performance cars, 300ZX and Skyline. If you didn't have the Yen to buy one of those, you can still look cool with our "entry" performance car. Aftermarket parts made them into the performance cars they are today, not Nissan. As for today, there really isn't anything to compete against. It would be a big waste of money for Nissan. The Sky, MX-5, and Solstice cannot be compared to a S Series car. They are pretty much in their own class (light weight, NA roadsters). Toyota tried to compete with Mazda. It was called the MR-S, and it stopped production after only 6 years in the US. No one is making a cheap RWD car, so why would a company (who is 5th in overall sales in the US), take a HUGE financial risk? Just my lousy 2 cents.

There is a potentially huge market for the GTR. Rich people will buy it, that was the aim. It does not directly compete with the 350Z. However, it is made to be Nissan's flagship vehicle, not to make a massive profit. It's there to bring people into the dealership. Nissan isnt going to risk not making a profit on a new S chassis.

By the way, base MSRP on a 1990 Z32 300zx turbo was $33,000. A 1991 S13 started at under $15,000. I wouldnt consider that competing with itself. If you want a car with all the stuff in that petition buy a Z.

By the way, saying people will not track the GTR is like saying there arent people who track their C6 Corvettes.

to the OPl;

nissan will never put there tt-v6 engine in another platform. it was built and designed for the gt-r, and they will keep it there. the whole point of the gt-r is the engine. so if you throw it in a car that costs over 50% less, you WILL kill all gt-r sales. gt-r power in a lighter car? for a fraction of gt-r cost? what are you stupid? that will never happen. you're basically asking for a cheaper version of the gt-r. you want the awd system too?? lmfao. wishful thinking. bottom line is:

s-chasis is a 4 cylinder rwd entry level car. you will never get gt-r power, or awd, or anything else, in an s-chasis from the factory

if you want a v6-tt awd s-chasis, DO IT YOURSELF.

and you better have a damn good build thread too.

lol i swear no where did i say at all about that amount of HP. And i didnt say that they wont, i said "i highly doubt" as in they will be just a bunch of rich ppl buying to say they have it.

And why cant the nissan corporation bring it back, whos to say they wont, they wont if ppl dont show intrest, thats the point of this thread, so we can TRY and let them know that ppl out there still like the s13 chassis and s14 and s15. If over the years were still here and this is done right we can get them to try and make a concept. like supply and demand. the people demand something and the market supplys us with that demand. Same with each car am i right, if everyone stopped driving hummers for ex. Chevy would discontinue it to the public, or atleast mass production of it.

Since even i know this is going no where, cuz i dont see anyone backing me not even the op IBTL! but still i stand my ground and am not moving on my position, you can argue with me how dumb you say it is. Dont call me stubborn its called having a opinon andjust cuz its not the same as yours, doesnt mean im stubborn

i think u just contradicted urself. u pretty much said it wouldnt sell and then admitted rich ppl would buy it. i think thats the point, its aimed at ppl that have that much money not the everyday joe.

I actually believe it could be done for cheap. Why not modify the existing sentra platform to accept rwd and just throw a sportier body on to it. Shoehorn the 3.5L in it and don't kill it with useless options.(of course at this point, you can just buy a used 350z for like 15,000 so really what's the point?) I actually believe that 10 years down the road, the next generation of young Nissan fanatics will be buying those cars and modding them like we are with the s-chassis

I LOL'D hard at that. OP, I think you are confused on a lot of things. No offense but requests like these are exactly why Nissan won't make another S. Your requests are extremely unrealistic, borderline fanboy. You clearly little to no understand of even the most rudimentary economics. People in Nissan have to have a realistic basis for making a proposal. If someone in Nissan made that proposal it'd be fast track to unemployment. The ONLY S I could see would be a turbo Miata fighter but it'd still be 30K.

I wold have thought that the Altima Coupe is really the car you guys are talking about - as far as Nissan is concened...

Sure, it's not RWD or looking anything like the car you folks would probably like to see but I'm pretty sure that car ticks most of the boxes for the segment of the market you are discussing?

there really is NOT a market for a 60K import car in America. rich people will not buy it at all, just the high income under 40 crowd that wants to flaunt their money. if your rich (make 100K+ year) your not going to want that. it is still a jap car and looks like a young kids car. how many old farts do you see riding around in evos and stis? if you do they are transporting it most likely. you see a lot of older people in vettes jags audi and all that which start out at 60K. they don't care about performance they want a NICE luxury sports car that is reliable for the next 2-5 years that will hold its value well. that is pretty well proven that jap performance doesn't hold its value to well unless it is just that rare of a car. young people want to buy a car to be see and drive it every day and it is either their only or second car for the household. i am an interior designer i work with people that have loads of money ever day and the majority of them have American or European cars like a ZO6, Audi R8 M3/5 ferraris and those are their third four or fifth car in the household. people want what others cant have and then show it off.

Not a market for a sub 80k car that will spank a Z06? This isnt an overpriced and underpowered (for the price) NSX or Supra. This is a car the likes of which have NEVER before been seen.

And I personally know an adult older than 50 who drives an EvoIX, and I dont know about you guys, but at the last autoX I went to there were 4 WRX STIs and they were all driven by 40-somethings. The oldest, most looked up to guy there was driving an STI.

I'd be happy if they came out with a new 240. But, it's highly unlikely.

I'd settle for a 2.X liter, rwd, turbo (option) getting a little more than 215hp.
