the whiskers thing is just my silly explanation for being too lazy to trim the zip ties. then make it sound bad a$$ by saying they are for feeling the car beside you during tandem runs. if a car is that close i just lost a fender and or bumper. i still like the way they look tho.

car looks f***ing awesome in every aspect....
yes having friends with a lift and happens to be really good at wrenching on 240s is a huge help in building a car up, also having friends willing to waste away a weekend or two helping me build up the car is awesome. most all of the parts on the car are from my last 240, all the suspension, the motor, the drivetrain, the wheels, the main new part is the custom cage so i dont kill myself trying 80+mph entries either being chased or the chaser.

Very inspirational thread. Not just the pics and car but also your posts and attitude

I wanted to ask you if you are still running the Revo Technica tension rods? If they've held up so far for you then they'll definitely be good enough for me...

Btw I see I'm not the only one with an old school Vallely deck on my garage wall, awesome stuff

shakedown at nashville for WelcomeBack event put on by SouthEastDrift.com

new pair of rears: Riverside 18x12+6

thanks for the comments everyone. still got a ways to go on the car, but atleast most of the big stuff is out of the way other than a final paint job eventually. still havent decided on a color yet. so multicolor it will stay till then.

glad somebody thinks i have a good attitude about it all. of course if you were around during the build you would have seen me throw a few tools across the room. gets hard to keep cool when things arent working out the way you want them to.......or if they take 5 to 6 trys to get almost right. then spend another 3-4hrs trying to get it just right. my friend says it best "its a racecar, not a show car. it doesnt have to be perfect the first time everytime".

the revo technica tension rods have held up great other than me not tightening them down enough on the second shell and losing the bolt that held one of them in place in the tension brackets. luckily i found a spare from a really good guy.

Weds Kranze Cerebreus. love em love em love em, but not as much as the Weds Kranze ERMs (the gold meshies).

yes i will.......oh wait. yes i was. will also be at the second TT2 in a couple weeks. one of only four registered tandem drivers. might not last long tho. damn firesuits are hot as hell.

yes yes it is. its a re-issue tho. originals are going for like 300bucks. one day i want to get the first real deck i ever had. christian hosoi hammerhead. originals go for 900bucks and the re-release just doesnt look right since it has more recently styled deck design.

eventually planning on removing near every sticker on the exterior of the car for a super clean look, but first i need to figure out my paint scheme.

paint scheme figured out.............................for now. as for how much i spent....i really really dont want to think about it. if i did i probably wouldnt want to drive it let alone drift it.

multicolor awesomeness:

rear garnish has been molested by stickers.........i really do have a sticker problem (pics soon)

hard to tell in the above pics, but the roof is sanded down to primer/champagne. the faded/partially unpainted black thing was annoying.

What brand / type of metal brackets were used to put in your bucket seats? Im getting some bucket seats soon and wondered what ones fitted, is it the universal sparco? and as for harnessing, did you harnees you 4 point to were the old seat belts used to be (over the lap), and the passenger rear seat belts used to be (for the sholders?

i am using the sparco brackets. had to beat the crap out of the cat-hump on the driver side floor area to get my seat low enough for my height and to keep a safe distance away from the cage. the lap part of my harness is bolted to the old seat belt spots, but the shoulder part is attached to the harness bar of the roll cage. on my second shell (only had a 4point cage in the rear section) the shoulder part of the harness was bolted to the rear passenger lap spots. its not ideal, but worked quite well for me.

yeah that day sucked. just happened that was the day that all my friends were coming up to me and saying "dont change a thing. i love the car" 2hrs later smashed it into a pole. still drove straight. in fact a friend even took it out for donuts once we checked it over for leaks and broken parts.

and yes thats why i changed shells. my mechanic friend says that Version3 has to last atleast one year before i smash it since Version2 fell short of a year by 3days. he wont even look at the pics or watch the footage.
