^^^5Zigen's are far from iffy. They are very strong and reputable for their price and manufacturing method. I'm kinda doubting he cracked his just driving down the highway.

I've read enough Rota/XXR threads to see past the hype & know what I'm getting here. I don't have a problem with them at all.

yea its like a 1in or so long on the inside. but i think 3 deg of camber a 40 profile stretched tire and the fact its jus there all some old beatn up and scared rims that came with the car, may have had a effect.lol i have a pic if anyone is interested. idr if there cast or forged but it kept goin flat every 2 days lol but over these months not gonna lie i nailed some big a** holes recently not paying attention but they are real 5zigens from japan old a** ones too

lol i get you, that explains it all. a curb will break/bend anything.
im with you though simm, ive read enough good feedback which deff overshadows the bad. not saying the thought wouldnt be in the back of my mind at time ya'know?

^^^Oh for sure. Which is why I'd much rather spend $150ish on a wheel than $450ish.

i totally understand that train of thought and im not above buying knock offs or new brands like these for no other reason than the price is so damn good.

but if i had to buy multiple sets due to poor quality, eventually equalling the amount of some dope BBS or advan or work (im a big fan of these) id rather have those.

but pay no mind to my post, deff not trying to ruin a great thread with a wheel arguement!!!
truth be told, im stringly considering one of these new models as a upcoming purchase...deff going to have to paint em white though :chuckle: the bronze/gold colors doesnt float my boat

I bought them so I dont smash up my volks which are being restored. I am going to use them for cheap drift tires for when I make attempts. However XXR over rota... I have seen XXR's hold up after smashing curbs.

No doubt they are cheap a** wheels, made from cast. But the rota cast are paper thin, thats why xxr weight a damn ton..... and this is why they are my back ups.

Rota wheels are decent for their price. If they're strong enough for professional drifting/time attack, then they're good enough for me. ALOT of drivers in the UK Drift series, JDM All-Stars, run Rotas.

I'll bet you good money that when these new XXR's come out and get weighed, Grids/P45R's will still be a $hitload lighter by about 5lbs each, too.

I plan to get both the 526's in the 17x10+20 with 18x10.5+20 along with 17x9.5+12 P45R fronts and 18x10+15 Grid rears if I can ever save up enough cash.

and 17x9.75 with 245/40s.

There's over a 100 orders in front of me. They quoted me end of Feb or early March.

the miata'd look much better if it were slammed low, tucking a bit of that tire in the rear.
i dont hate 16 wheels sizes, s*** i thought that white navan s14 on 15" wats was the dopest thing ever. needless to say, i am the only one who thinks such.
