Nothing, people are just whining, aka ranting, how they no longer have that "originality" that they never had in the first place. To those guys, I say, "Who cares, get real". People crave to be different and attention whores, and when their stuff gets popular, attention gets diverted from them.

My car will always be unique. If you see my car and you're blind to see what makes it unique, it's your loss, not mine. Just like if some kid sees it and doesnt know it's a Nissan 240SX, not my problem. Have a swell day. :)

Some of us just perfer to not have a car that everyone else in town has..... If everyone in here was worried about cheap parts then we would all have civics... hurts my little brain just picturing that. Well to each his own....im just stating my opinion

Why....I am still trying to grasp this originality concept when YOU arent original because SOMEONE else has ben there done that. I felt a sense of pride when I saw another 240 and would try to talk to people.....not get mad. Like one time I about scared this guy. He had a 91+ two tone fastback. I was like WTF that IS RARE. I was liek DUDE is that your car...****ign a man nice ****. He wasnt into 240's, he just got a cheap ride and he kinda looked at me like WTF....NO matter what you do, someoen has done it......

THERE IS NO ORIGINAL WHEN IT COMES TO CARS, UNLESS THE CAR IS RARE OR BRAND NEW, BECAUSE LIKE SPEC SAID SOMEONE ELSE HAS PROBABLY ALREADY DONE IT.

AND UMM IF NO ONE AROUND WAS TO HAVE 240S IN YOUR PERFECT LITTLE WORLD, HOW WOULD YOU LEARN THINGS, HOW WOULD YOU HEAR ABOUT THE NEW HOT MODS OR THE GREAT NEW ENGINE SWAPS? YOU WOULDN'T BECAUSE THERE WOULD BE NO ONE TO SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE.

MY THOUGHTS TO THIS POPULARITY THING IS "GROW UP AND GET A LIFE, ITS NOT LIKE YOUR THE ONLY CONTRIBUTOR TO THE 240SX MOTORSPORT WORLD AND I'M DAMN SURE YOU HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING FROM ANOTHER 240 OWNER."

seems like most of you are either in the acceptance stage or the denial stage. 240 is phat with a p. the reason everyone wants one is because they cant resist. irresistable. be proud not sad.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

He said memebers only..hahahahahah I STILL see a few peopel with these coats every now and again. The 240 is a great car and so is the civic and the ecplise and every other import "racer" that peopel have. I could care less who has what. I mean in essence with the exception of a few....we are ALL followers. I mean I didnt read a magazine and say whooooooooo SR20 and 240sx. I got mine because I was looking for a 300zx and came across the 240. But most of the people driving 240's arent the original owners.......I say let it grow and grow with it. I mean I look at the Altima scene from when I got mine 2 years ago to now and it has changed. SR20 swaps, turbo kits, bug N/A numbers. It is joyous. Sure most people still dont buy em for whatever reason, but thoise are good project cars too. You can swap in the SR20 or slap a turbo kit on it.....and the 3rd gen already has a decent following. I fmore people dont get into a certain car, no parts will come. Hondas didnt have this big aftermarket all the time. I am sure peopel got laughed at for trying to "soup up" a ecnobox civic...now look at them. If the car you are into community doesnt grow, the car wont grow..........

I'm one of the people that everyone is describing. I'm 20 years old, and currently own a 1996 Honda Accord with I/H/E. No stickers, no spoiler, no LEDs, etc. Just completely monochrome.

I'm in the market for a 95-96 S14. I most likely won't drift, but would rather AutoX. Probably no SR20 either, seeing that I live in Cali and imports get enough heat from the five-oh as it is.

I really admire the 240sx's because of their weight, and the fact that they are RWD.

This alone justified my decision to switch from a Honda to Nissan. I could care less about what people think of me for doing this..

i fell in love with Bee R's S13 coupe in one of my uncle's Option magazine back in 95 and finally purchased one this year. at least my primary car isn't so well known (MK3 Supra turbo).

well, rarity was one of the reasons I bought mine about a year and a half ago, I'm not gonna lie. Why you may ask? Well for the sole purpose that it gets monotonous seeing the same thing over and over. I feel proud to be different, and even though I see some 240's now and then, they are not enough to challenge the car's rarity in my opinion. You may be saying how are you different....blah, blah, blah... Well I think the fact that I took the risk of buying a car that is scarce for parts/mods, that is rwd, and that is relatively old. The fact that I did not fall for what's "fast and furious" nowadays....and well...it's sensuous lines.

hee hee hee heck even the drift bible at the end where it's got just some shots of their other videos says "no NOS, no neon lights" just as a s15's tackling a corner with an 86 behind it. Ha ha ha. Is it me or does it seem as though it's only guys in America that have fallen for the moron trap of trying to be "fast and furious"?

Well, I picked up my S13 6yrs ago with the intention of putting the SR20 in. I definately wasn't qualified at the time (or had the cash), but i was definatley hoping to be the first to have it to be different. Now that I am qualified (and have the cash), I chose to go a different route. I really wanted a 97 at the time, but I'm likeing this year more and more every year. Even if it's not as exclusive as it used to be, these older cars will definately become more popular in the scene. the only thing that does piss me off is kids who are getting them because mom and dad can fix them up for free. That's understandable with every car though.

remember america is the one who produces these movies. I dont think this fad would have gone as long is it was a british movie or some other foreign movie. america is also the richest which makes it easier for us to mimic films and have access to other things other countries cannot afford. People in other countries have more important things to worry about than waste their time looking for the perfect bench on their cars, if they own one

I think you guys misunderstood...This was my uncles car back when he bought it brand new. I only got it cuz he gave it to me dirt cheap and it was rwd..i bought it 2 yrs ago when i was 15...yes i bought it before i could drive. I like the fact it is getting better for cheap parts but i would rather not have EVERYONE have one.....like civics....no offense to civic owners......just to many.....AHHHH the insanity!!!!!....ok im done

apparently everone has the same concept as most ppl do, " O yeah i don see 240s so ill geta 240 yo!" So everyone getting one thinks that they will be one of the few who has one. problem is everone else has the same concept thought out and everyone of them buys one too. this is where trends come from

Yea i've had my 240 hatch since i was 14 years old. First one I've ever seen was my own and ive been tuning it ever since. You would not believe all the **** I got every freakin day from ***holes telling me how ****ty my car was and telling me to just stop trying to make it cool. Now i'm running mid 13's and i've got a full body kit/rims and its fully drift tuned. Not only is it the fastest car in my high school but im competing in the michigan drift circuit. Since my car's been turboed ive only had one ricer so far trying to dupe it. He wrecked some innocent 240 hatch (SAME FREAKING COLOR AS MINE) with goddamn retarded stickers, his dads ****ty enkei wheels and a freakin ricer muffler. He had the nerve to challenge me to a "drift battle" so i proceeded to school him in front of pretty much the car guy population of the school. I gotta say theres good and bad coming with this odd trend. My car is getting much deserved appreciation but there is also the risk of morons ruining the sport for us all in a couple different ways.

Fads and trends aside, the 240sx is a true drifting car and as long as people really want to learn how to drift i dont care when they got their 240. I'm gonna sell my red 240sx to a Honda guy...Why? Cause he loves drifting so much, just because he made a poor decision years ago by buying a Civic doesnt mean he becomes a Trendy Ricer for buying a 240sx in fall of 2003.

People need to lay off and just go back to loving cars not finding reasons to complain about people. Forget all that ricer/trendy/fad car BS and just go out and get sideways. You'll feel better about yourself w/o having to degrade other people.

The 240sx is becoming 'cool' for two reasons. Drifting Craze, and the good aftermarket/engineswaps now available. Who wants to buy a brand new sports car with a 12 valve pickup motor anyway? Thanks nissan we really love these engines a lot more than a turbo cause americans like BIG MOTOR! I think they were just teasing us with the chassis and suspension, and leaving the true power for the homeland.

THE 240 WASN'T DESIGNED FOR DRIFTING IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE A ECONOMICAL SPORTS CAR. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE FIGURED OUT THAT THEY CAN BREAK TRACTION AND SLIDE TURNS DOESN'T MEEN THE CAR WAS DESIGNED FOR THAT.

Since the designers were well aware of the mountain racing that was going on, they designed the car to be able to handle the mountian roads at high speeds (which includes the drift), and to out perform the prelude. SMART GUY

hee hee hee which is why nismo built their sileighty (sadly built in very few numbers) when they caught wind of people drifting and swapping the front ends and decided to capitalize on it.

When i went out looking for a car (after my POS-R Pulsar hit a nissan pickup) i was more interested in a Nissan than anything else out there AND i wanted a 4 banger, RWD this time, so i could actually work on it without having to pull the motor. It worked out and i got my RMS13 for $4700 with 25K on it (?!?). Pretty cheap considering it was 3 years ago. And i still only have 80K on it now. I never even heard of a 240 before that...strange.

I got myne 1995 240 sx se in 2001, but I knew this car since 1997. I just wanted that car and nothing else. So I cameup to the owner of this car and told her that when shi is ready to sell it, I will bye it. Well that day came. It is not a popularity, I just fell in love with her (I mean CAR).
