Good news update; got the car running with the original Ka24E motor lol. Sounds pretty scrappy slash monsterous in person, my cell didn't pick it up well.Leaks .5 drops of coolant (water right now) per second. The pump is leakin. I don't really care what's wrong w the motor as long as it gets me to where the swap will take place. AKA hbpignose' garage.Backfires a bit when you back off throttle because the pair valve and EGR valve are hooked up via rubber hoses noobman seller didn't hook up the metal ones lol.

In other news, I painted the SR trans. Use degreaser and then carb cleaner for more stubborn goop, then i hit it up w primer b4 this silver paint.

The video of running kaE, note my battery conglomeration lol. It was having voltage drop problems getting to the starter, so i cleaned the old wire connections and terminals, added 1 more power wire to the starter, added 1 more ground to the manifold, new positive terminal and we were cranking like a champ!

I have a lot of classes on monday but I'll try to get it to york tomorrow. Feel good day, it's so nice out still!

BOOYA! haha.

The reason for the song in the title: Initial D music has always been an inspiration to me when building both my 240s. Running in the 90s to me means 'racing' 1990's cars, at least that's what I thought it meant. While we're on the subject, speedy speed boy intro sounded like my na/ka setup for the few hours it lived lol.

Ya keegan I'm kinda with u because its so flashy, but I needed to pick ONE color. I want it to look more professional this time around (except for the paint), but I'll probably get sucked into some drift style again. Nevermind, it won't be near done soon anyway so no sense in talking about it, i just want it to be a showcase of my abilities and since a college degree is one of them i figured the highschool paint job styles had to move on.

after looking at pics closely i can see how the silver might be a little flashy. i went with alum colored which is a little milder imo

Nah it's cool man, I had this paint lying around and it has a chrome cap, so it's supposed to be shiney as hell I guess. Like i said it was for the moped fenders.

I like how yours looks, but i like this as well, should pop nicely under the car and i'm sure it'll get dirty so its no big deal.

A great day. Very stressful this afternoon, i drove it like 5 miles and the rod knock got extremely out of hand, and it died at a stoplight, so I pulled it in to some type of voodoo weed pharmacy parking lot and rented a tow dolley and my friend Nick secured a v8 magnum for the towing.

Made it to HB's garage safe and sound. I'm pretty good @ securing vehicles for towing now, used the mechanical winch(wench?) to pull the anti roll bar toward the dolley frame also

Teardown and rebuild starts asap. All-nighter on friday afternoon-sat morning for any local peeps who want to help.

Rod knock was extremely awful lol josh can attest to it, the bearing must have completely spun out by the time we towed it! Piston slapping the head and everything. If anyone actually wants the KAE hit me up.

BEFORE you ask, yes it was out of gear yes the ebrake was off, transmission is fine and works GREAT!

Big thanks to Keegan for a new optima battery, she started right up once I dropped it in, screw that other battery.

Great progress today already!

Started working on it and josh helped for an hour or 2 before going to work, but at 5:30 when I took a sandwich/dinner break this is what i had accomplished thus far:

Got the header out: This picture is mainly for lloydmang lol. It's in really good shape besides the EGR tube was cut by the guy who installed it, so the EGR won't bolt up (you'll just have to delete the egr lol) Really nice welds and yea, looks like stock diameter.Doin work underneath. crossmember is out and the engine mounts are loose. Everything is removed or disconnected- just waiting on the cherry picker tomorrow, I'll bring it with me.The end of the night. I started around 1 and left at 10:30 but took a lunch/dinner so call it a 9hr day. Not bad at all, so many things are removed for weight savings and "useless accessories" ditched AKA: AC, Cruise cont, AC fan blah blah.

The frame of the car is in great shape. Surface rust in the usual areas but it really doesn't go deeper than that I couldn't be happer <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/image ... iggrin.gif" BORDER="0"> <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://images.nicoclub.com/forums/image ... iggrin.gif" BORDER="0">

I'll have to take pics of the knuconceptZ 0gage amp wiring/battery relocating kit I bought. It comes w everything I need for the relocation other than a box to put it it, but I have that.Dude the B&m t shifter knob gave me so much grief today. Must be loctited on there because I still can't get it off so I'm pulling the shifter stick out along with it.There's lots of little brackets and mounts that i removed you don't see. Also bled the brake fluid out so it wouldn't spill all over and man was it bad looking.Clutch master was leaking into the interior a bit, but only from recent usage.

I'm just really happy to be working on a 240 that I can call my own again , and I love teh blue paint!

some of those B&M knobs come with loctite to lock in the thread size, they send you like 8 different reducers that are all different sizes so the shift knob fits all makes and models, the retard probably used the loc tite on the inside threads also.
