Motor out. Pics of the daily grind. I didn't get there until 6 freakin 30 today so not as much progress as I hoped, but tomorrow I will be power washing and grease lightning-inginging.Stripping pretty much everything for the respray of the bay. Going with a gloss black partially because that is what was OEM, partially because I want to lol.
A little while into the teardown after engine came out:
I didn't waste any time getting this puppy out! Don't forget to mark where yours lines up! Thanks positron for the detailed writeup on this, read it weeks ago and I still remember, it is intuitive now how to do the bushing.
Pulling the trans off, taking a pic to send to a friend while changing the steering bushing (on the floor @ the bottom)
I will definitely enjoy the increased steering feedback! Pretty blue, tis a shame nobody sees it from here on out. Just a note, it's pretty impossible to mess up the exact lineup of your steering rack because the bolt won't thread on the U joint clamp unless it's installed in the correct location, so zero alignments needed.
Battery tray was rusted, body around it wasnt . Let me rephrase that: The battery tray was rusted to hell, all I had to do was beat half of it with the BFH and it split right off the body. The body remains in tact with no new rust holes, but is pitting. No worries, grinder tomorrow. Little bits of battery tray are resting on the frame rail, shop vaccing tomorrow when ppl are awake. Not cleaned up yet but it was a quarter to 1 so I had to head out.
Wiring harness was a breeze, and pulling it helped me remember the SR wiring setup.PS lines wiring harness even that little stock intake box bracket and battery tray are gone. Now I know how Keegan felt leaving his 'new' 240 in hershey every night. Feels like a part of u is in another county.
