Sorry I write so much.
Let me try to piece these pictures in the order they occured today lol.First thing today was cutting the brake dust shields off. I did this last time with a pair of shears keegan let me borrow and I ended up braking them just as I finished. This time my electric grinder/cutoff was a real breeze. Just try to ignore the sparks landing in your socks or down your glove etc... Much cleaner this time.
There was some rust probably from a bit of brake fluid leaking from years past. I got to it as best I could for now and sprayed it with some rust tough. This is before the spray:
If you've ever tried to replace a license plate bulb you probably had the 8mm bolts shear off on you because of rust. I remove this whole metal bracket in favor of weight savings and because the old bracket usually is a crumbly rusty mess, just use zipties! 2nd car I've done this one now lol.
A small weight removal plug, I always remove this rusty concoction too... It's a metal bracket to hold the rear bumper secured to the bottom bumper support on the frame side (so above the thing i'm holding. It's held in with plastic screw trees so I just re use the plastic trees to secure the bumper and throw away this metal. Note, it's 2x as long as it looks in this pic.Front J30 brakes installed
I spent about an hour perfecting the sleepy eye height. You have to get the motors pointing the arm at the exact same degree, then play with the height adjuster. I'll be doing a write up.
My car is floating! I've learned to use scissor jacks very well with the new ride height. Don't worry I have my real jack under the front holding it up, scissors as a fail safe on both sides. Rear is on jackstands in this pic. I wasn't going under the car so it's all good I'm not going to die on you guys! Getting ready for a brake bleed:
In honor of the new genesis and for those of you who know me, I am not a fan of Hyundai. This is their very first attempt at building a properly designed performance automobile. Let's just tempt them to try me 240sx ftw!
I'll be doing paint blending where the primer is tomorrow, as well as painting and installing the lip, window cleaning and maybe a wash. I did get the glove box in and I love it, but no pics sry.
