I need a nicer camera .

I cleaned up the frame insulation area side of the hatch today really nice, put the weather stripping from the old hatch which was sourced from a junkyard back in the day and perfect which I saved, into the new hatch. Lot of adjectives back there....

Stopped hatch body hinge side and the hinge rust in its tracks also and I finished up painting the top side of the hatch.

Prepping the hatch means taking a razor and getting rid of the factory NISSAN stickers. Pain in the arse, no really. Goof off doesn't even penetrate this super sticky sticker tar that well. After goof offing, then light razor shaving the sticker goo off it was finally gone.cleaned w/ dawn and a rag400 grit wetsanddawn and rag wipe up the sand dirtbegin to tape it off, take your time.

Pic of it finished before tape:

For those of you wondering what paint I used it is called nightshadow blue pearl. The import paint cans from duplicolor, very similar to the factory Nissan midnight blue pearl. This is probably the blue 2nd or 3rd coat, not sure: I took it out of direct sunlight so the paint would lay better.Yes I noticed the ding after painting UrrrrrrGH LOL. Oh well.

Later that day after helping keegan with dismantling his rear subframe he came back to help me out installing the freshly cured hatch.Bonus spy pic, Mrgreeneyes' daily lol: Doesn't do it justice. Even though it's a parts hauler, the paint is flawless and I believe it is for sale. Thanks for helping me with the front suspension treats man, AA ftw.

It has been killer trying to get a nice clear coat with the weather as it is right now, but the key is that the clear coat is on there and I can wetsand and buff the finish to a shiney new look later on.

I'll be putting the 3rd brake light in tomorrow, it's already been aircraft stripped and painted the same color blue

Finally got something productive done. I've been dreading replacing the tail light seals because of how gummy and sticky they get all over your hands, so I wore s***ty gloves !

Clean that ish UP! Goof off is my favorite sticker/tar remover. Doesn't hurt clear coat. I mean ok maybe if you rub for ages it will...

I used clear silicone II window caulk to seal them up again. I'm done using tar forever! Make sure to run a bead of it on the body and on the lights themselves to get enough height on the caulk for a nice seal

Copped the old tail lights off the V1 240sx. I really like the red on red usdm style lights. Koukis are nice, but these will do. The bottom is darker because of the type of red paint I used, but you can't tell in my s***tily lit garage pic.

Glued the sexy nissan badge on with the same clear window caulk. The badge is from a B13 sentra trunk for those who want to know. It fits the contour of the hatch perfectly. You can also see the 3rd brake light and surround which has been painted nightshadow blue pearl as well. I'm beginning to be very pleased with the overall look.

Rims up next.Honestly, I want to run the datsun z rims up front still but I'm not sure where to get lugs in that odd pattern. Guys with mesh rims give me some insight!

Doug, its easy man we will do it one day this summer. I have yet to give wrenching love to your car since helping with your valve cover gasket LOL.

3 pic update.

Still searching for mesh/datsun lug nuts.

On my way to get a quote for a super duper sticker I saw this:What kind /year corolla is this? E70? I think it's still RWD because I looked for the pumpkin and saw something... I want one! I assume it's the gen before the ae86?

After returning from the auto store, started installing these keke. Make sure you set them both in place at the same time before starting to bolt them down, or you won't get the other one in because the roll bar won't move.

Looking snazzy. Haven't taken it for a test drive yet. The energy suspension bushings look a bit saucy, but they're just from my old car.

WTB chuki bumper if anyone knows a local seller hit me up on da E-mailll.

Honestly I'm on the fence about the bumper, but this pig is so beat up... well technically it's not but one area under the lip it was ripped off from going into a ditch or something. I didn't do it LOL! The pig nose vents had their oem inserts removed, tried to clean that up today but I really just want some inserts again!

But with the datsun wheels up front it'll be a cool staggered setup, so maybe I'll stick with the pig. I like em both.

I hate bee's nests. Found these yesterday doing the tail lights, poked em to the bottom of the rear bumper and took them out today. this is like the 4th nest. Car must have been a home for a few years when it didnt run.

Got the other hatch lifter arm in place, i had to drill thru the hatch. More pics later.

Lol wtf is wrong with me sometimes. Maybe the nights out this weekend I messed up some posting...Ninja update!

Anyway let's turn this double post into a new progressive one. It's cool jeff, I believe you or I have the testors paint can still so we can pull part numbers if needed. Yours came out better because I have a base coat of krylon stained glass which was off, hence the darker color which I kinda like.

Anyway, I cleaned the windows mainly because the hatch window was so dirty from sitting in the grass and getting dew on it. I'm looking to add the 3 stickers I'm desiring to the car. The other 2 are not ready to go on yet because the location needs prepped better, or I don't have it yet .

As you can see I used my hand to cover up the direct sunlight to avoid glare.Modular records. If you've heard of Cut///Copy, Chromeo, The Presets, The Avalanches, Wolfmother, Ladyhawke, MSTRKRFT, Yeah yeah yeahs... Then you've listened to Modular. I love their logo and most of their music yo!

Sry for the less than car related posts, but some of NICO lacks more personal sheit, so maybe when you meet me you'll have more to talk about than just how I like my coilovers lol. Car talk is always good though, always!

Thanks Bumnah, means a lot.

Dale you should come man. there are like 4 events at park city for the scca this summer including the september date. I expect to see my times improve throughout the year because well, my tires suck right now and I'm not sure if I can get decent front tires for this event. I'll be running some random touring tires if the dealership has lug nuts, but at least it's better than dry rot.

I fixed up the parents mini van with a water pump and thermostat today. Took me until 5 to finish, but I had a haircut in between to get to.

Went to play 4, 6 then 8 square with some old buds today, showed adrian my car. He said the motor sounds just like it used to .

Only other thing I did was FINALLY fix the click noise I was having trouble with sometimes when first applying the power or brakes. It was one RLCA bolt not torqued down at all. I feel better inside. I also removed the plastic dirt shields from the RLCA's because one was cracked. If these help for aerodynamics I think the ride height can take care of that from now on so idc.Did someone say (extremely minimal) weight savings!!! lol

OH and I fixed some of my whistles that go w00000. The 4 bolts that bolt the bumper to the 5mph crash bumper weren't even connected so I got larger washers on em. There is still a slight whistle from something but it's not as bad and I can live w/ it. Gives it character.

I'll try not to have any more pics unless some rims are on, or josh and I pick a sticker color.

Alright I lied. I went to tires plus today for an alignment and my car is too low for their machine... Even though they have the lowest machine around AKA no ramps, he still didn't want to mess w it. Techs are so untrained these days just let me rent out the machine for an hour I'll fkn do it right with the custom rods.

No matter, the car's pretty close to good for now, I'll do my ghetto alignment I used for the sentra.

I couldn't help post pics because... I got Excite today: Mabbe u saw me stuntin' the new vinyl...

Ultra silver metallic, much more sparkly than my phone picks up yo. It's true East coast HYPE. I have yours in my garage josh, the guy at lehmans signs gave me a sticker application tool so we can do yours right! Maybe we'll do yours on sunday? But it has to be out of direct sunlight.

Polished the b pillars doors and rear QPs today w/ the keegster. Looks fantastic! The good cam is w/ the fam in pittsburg atm so no pics for u.Going to the dealer for lugs.... UGH.

Stop goin to chains for your car! Tire Plus are a bunch of by the book, safety minded cocks. Go to Nello Tire here in York. They do my alignments and mount my tires without any nonsense.

Haha alright dale, I just wanted to have it done by them because their rack was low...

Thanks doug, I had to stop at the top of 2nd gear bc of the short road hehe. It bogged a bit in first bc I didn't drop it.Twas a fun day. If I want to make the autoX, I have to skip the family reunion on sat, soooo I think I will... Hope I don't regret it.

BTW Park city SCCA starts at 7:30 AM... Yes that's early for most of us college nubs, so get a gewt night sleep don't stay up trying to dial in your camber LOL!
