oooh nice man. Hope to see pics of the paint later on! Did you clear it?

I probably have the least room to store parts... Because I'm a schooling newb. The local parts loop is funny at times. There are parts that most of us owned at one point still in use lol.

alright sorry for the delay.

i spent some time cleaning up the garage (never looks like i do i know)

ooo l28 mmmmhm this will be on an engine stand this winter/early spring

pile O tires/ wheels

you would think i drift but no; just so many project cars

well everything is pretty much in here

kk enough goofin off.

so i prepped the car for paint.

spent a good 20ish hours for the prep, about 5 to 7 spraying

for all that time i wish it turned out better. WORDS OF WISDOM

1. use a single color that is dark, but not black. 2. use rustoleum brand, not dupicolor

o well its done and im not going to waste time i dont have redoing it.

overall its not terrible. but its not nearly as clean as i hoped.

PICS!!!!

started mocking up the tails etc to get the final effect.

gotta paint the front fenders, hood, rear window trim and spoiler

and one more spot to touch up.

then ill put all the exterior/interior back together from the cabin back.

and jeff and keegan / anyone local want to help w the harness please let me know.... want to start working on that soon.

body line isn't on so thats why the edges are so rough. hoping the body lines/ mud guards hide the crappy spray

it doesnt look terrible, better then some out there but i think the molding being on will help. one thing i've found about duplicolor is its more sensitive to heat, humidity, etc. krylon probably lays the best and rustoleum can be a little finicky too. this way when you're ready to try again you now know what you're doing better. next time you can practice on someone else's car

yea what happened is i wanted the contrast to be where the body line was so if it wasnt perfectly even the line would cover it

but it was higher than the trim covered

so it looked stupid since the line stops and it has a flare built into the QP

it would look awesome if the bulged flare was black, but again taping off a perfect circle is all but impossible.

so to compensate i sprayed sliver down to make it look like the whole flare is silver, w the trim covering it.

again refer to the two steps if anyone wants some free advice.

2 tone is alot harder to pull off

ok update!!!

got the whole rear assembled (minus the spoiler bolted down i forget what the hardware looks like)

and a few minor trim pieces on the DS but heres the overall effect:

had to install the extra fuel pump that came with the car and im hoping that its good. gas tank waiting to go in tommorow (not painting it; i dont care )

also cleaned the carpet hardcore (doesnt look perfect yet but it IS alot better than it was; tan is a tough color to keep clean.

look how nice these floors are

installed various other odds and ends (door panels quarter glass (not the latches tho)

hope to be done all the other minor stuff tomorrow so i can start mocking up the harness thursday.

will order the suspension pieces i need for the front; and return to the junkyard for a r180 and windshield as well sometime next week

its gettin there

I like the 2 tone a lot. I think a polish can help that silver paint, but it looks unique as of now. Kinda like a stainless look.Nice progress man. The interior color doesn't look as nice in pics. It's more of a grey than a tan iirc but who knows. I still dig it a lot.

looking very nice. i think you should paint the arch around the wheels black though, that half circle in black will give it a finished look imo

got the rear end installed.

just got another r180 from the yard.

whole back is done except for a couple little trim pieces and the one gas tank strap.

the thread on the mount is stripped so i guess ill have to helicoil it out or something.

now all i gotta do is put in some new fuel lines, and re attach the wires for the pump and the back is done!!

thought i snagged a picture of it back on the ground.

o well

also got in my kyb's sat. these will go in tmw or weds

the wiring is a mess

im already getting discouraged but if push comes to shove ill get it done

ooo and the 240 is now off the road and on project car status:

note the KA almost ready to come out

and my rust

sooooooooooooo

my harness is super messed up

so im currently cleaning it up, relocating fuses etc.

no pictures because i want to just pop in with a few before and then some afters

and i probably could have been done but my local 240 friends fail hard at making time to help lil ol me

jk guys Tom helped a bit; but what i really need is MGE's help

plan on spending most of tommorow, and all day sunday to clean it up

then the KA is ready to come out,
