lucky... there is a new law saying that we can't even change out cats out for aftermarket ones, the only cats we can use/replace have to be OEM

Mine comes in monday so I'll post some videos up. Any preferances on where you want me to take the video from? (In cabin, behind car, under hood?)

i get mine tmrw (technically today)! super stoked. i already have my car dyno'd so when i take the car to the dyno next time it will be with the header on. hopefully see some real numbers. im gonna go run around town and get some install quotes from some places.

hey Jus14 you get your header yet? if you don't get a cel light ill probably slap the whole thing on there. but most likely im going to weld it to my stock cats because with my luck with cops they will pull me over and i will eventually have someone look under the car and find my cat missing... great.

i got my header today, gonna try to install it tomorrow at a shop. i measured the down pipes diameter and its 2.5" wide. and the header where all 4 connect to 1 is 3.25" wide. the 4 holes that get placed on the engine are 2" wide. man i wish i could install the downpipe but i don't wanna get into any more trouble with the popo with now not having a cat. so just the header is going to be welded to the stock cat

i think i used 100% incorrect terminology, my bad i tried

gettn the header installed on monday. i went to 4 exhaust shops and only 1 of the 4 said the would install the header for me (not the downpipe). The would not touch it with a 10ft poll because it isn't carb. i told them that the downpipe is the illegal part, the header will use the stock cats. and they still wouldn't do it. the 1st shop said it looks to complicated (liar, he was old and lazy), 2nd guy said he won't do it unless there is a carb approval on it, the 3rd guy actually handed the header back to me really fast after i showed it to him because he wanted nothing to do with it. and the 4th guy at a little hole in the wall place said he would do it for me monday for $100 with all the welding and stuff.

so monday is my day took some pictures, will have some comarison shots monday

Sounds like a deal, considering a exhaust manifold for my car costs $1000.

I got the header in and it took about 2hrs and 50min, and al i have to say is, WOW, i didn't know it would be that noticeable of a difference in my car. i have a lot more mid and lower range torq and i can feel the car going through the rpms faster. VERY nice. I have a lot of pictures and some side by side shots. Im going to upload all of them later on tonight when i have time (not on my comp. now). i noticed that the OEM header is so small and dinky, and at the end of the header where all 4 pipes become 1, i noticed that all 4 are crimped and have been squeezed to fit inside the round housing. like i said ill post pictures up tonight and i have an exhaust vid so stick around

Here are some pix of the install

The obx header

My Car that needs a wash, bad.

took out the oem cats

The oem header after the cats were taken out

The cats and the straight pipe side by side. i noticed that the straight pipe and the oem pipe have the same diameter

The heatshield (i didn't have them install this back on the obx header)

Oem header taken out, notice in the 4 pipes they are crimped at the end to fit in together, and then tightly packed in.Notice the difference inside the OEM header compared to the Obx header at the beginning of the post. These look really small and restrictive.

Side by side comparison

Welded the flange from the down pipe onto the pre-cat

Obx header now installed and in place

Cut and adjusted my exhaust to make sure everything fit

Obx Header installed

So that's it for the pictures. The whole install took 2hrs 50min. and it costed me $130. i tried to get the pictures in some sort of order. . Hope everyone likes the pictures.

Ok heres the exhaust video, first with the OEM header and then the OBX header and then some sound bytes at the end. hope you guys like it
