What gasket was used? Normally best to use an OEM gasket instead of one that comes with the header.

ya i did more research online and found out it would be better to use OEM. i used the gasket it came with. i wonder how much an OEM gasket would be from the dealer

Yeah I have mine on. Mine is buzzing too so I guess I'll try to get the OEM gasket as well but I'll wait till someone else does it to see if it actually helps.

Well i found my problem. i changed my oil yesterday and since i had the car on jacks, i started it up and went under the car and noticed that the only thing that was leaking was the header to the exhaust gasket. it was leaking all around it. so im going to a different shop today and see wat they can do for me. so it wasn't the gasket on the header on the engine (for me it wasn't) its the gasket to the exhaust.

They also make a high temp liquid gasket for like turbo downpipes if you cant get anyone to fix it try that i mean at 2000 Degrees this stuff isnt suppose to leak for any exhaust seems like a quick fix..... The techinical name for it is High Temp Stove and Gasket Cement

Thats weird that this isn't happening to anyone else.

what i mean by stress is that the exhaust and the header pull on eachother very slightly, the gap without the bolts isn't very flush there is like almost a 1/2 inch gap between them. maybe they are pulling on eachother so hard that when the bolts get hot they expand and snap? only thing i could think of

I do agree this seems like a lot of work and money for a dinky engine to make it go from slow to kinda slow... Only thing I'd do to mine is throw on a Magnaflow muffler.

You should be more specific next time saying that. You're a hyprocrite by saying that when you have a modded 240sx.

How so? My Versa is a new car. I depend on it to get me to and from work every day. Something breaking on it isn't in my best intrest, neither is modding it.

That's why I have my 240. I can tool around on it without worry because I don't use it as daily transportation. It's my fast car that I can beat around on the backroads without worrying if I'll be able to drive it to work the next day.

I should have been more specific though. It's why I leave my Versa stock. I don't need something on it to break and have to pay out the a** for a part. In this case I only forsee a lot of financial woes. If something more serious on the engine breaks, it won't be warrantied. It's a perfect instance where the part leads to the component failure. Like I said, why I leave me V stock.

FYI, in no way am I trying to portray modding as a bad thing, just saying what's on my mind.

Yeah I wish I had a project car. But I'm only 19 with a Versa so I'll do what I can for right now. I definatly don't want anything to break but I think I only have like 5k more miles on my warranty anyway.

well all i have to do is just put less stress on the header and exhaust. simply just extending/moving the exhaust so it isn't pulling as hard.
