Thanks for the help offer. I'd love to see what the car will look like with all of my sponsors on it. I don't have a clue on photoshop. Just a basic body...just with the back cut up a bit. Can you do that?
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I did a few samples for Musharacing's car, you can take a look at these for reference. Tell who your sponsors are I can do some for you too. Is there a color scheme you're into?

Going to Time Attack, as well. The main purpose of the build is Pikes Peak, but I love to race, so I'll be on the track as often as possible.

Those are the major ones. I'm lookng forward to seeing what you come up with!

The roll center is is corrected by two things: The spindle has been modified and the control arm has been modified, as well. The control arm has been chopped at both ends and heim joints have replaced the ball joint on the outside and the bushing on the inside. I don'thave them in the shop rightnow to get you some ictures but when I get them back I'll snap a few photos for you.

Bye.
Thanks for replying to my question. I plan on fabricating an oem spindle to be spaced so the lower control arm could be dropped to correct the roll center. The idea is similar to G-sport (pix below), but just one piece, not two.

Those are some awesome shocks! I wanted Motons, but ended up getting AST 3-way adjustable shocks. I've taken my car with the ASTs a couple of times to the auto-x and the dampening control is extremely tunable and car control is very predictable. How do those motons feel? I guess you need to get 'em in the car. Can't wait to read your reviews. Hope to see more pictures as your car progresses. very nice!

We're still going doing our research. Still haven't decided which direction we're going. There's a few good options out there!

What are you guys working on now?

God, this thread is f-ing awesome. Wish I could come out there and give you a hand... although, I think I'd be more likely to ask a thousand questions and just get in your way. Good luck with the rest of this thing. It looks amazing.

Got a few things done on Friday.

Built the mounts for the gas tank:

Also finished the bracing for the pedal box and the steering column:

Steve made this hub that encapsulates the quick release:

Started laying out the opening for the hood vent:

Got the new diagonal brace for the main hoop finished up:

That's all for now. I'm getting back in the shop today. Hopefully I'll have some updates to post later tonight.

More updates.

Skinning the trunk:

Putting things together to have a look:

Yes...there are bits from a dozen different cars on this thing. The silly hole in the hood will be closed up in favor of a new hole that will actually serve a purpose.

The rear bumper has become the white board and now contains the very long list of things to get done before March first.

I'm going to be very tired.

A few people have asked for more photos of the front and rear suspension bits:

There it is.

Got a few more things done Sunday Night. The guys from Pro Tuning Performance stopped by today and rolled the rear fenders for me and we also did a bit of gameplanning for completing the build on time and spent some time developing the broad strokes of our program for Pikes Peak. If I haden't already mentioned, PTP will be helping us dial in the car and will also be traveling to Pikes Peak with us and will be a HUGE help during race week. Drift Drag and Drive's Jay-Rod will also be helping us out during race week and we're very thankful to have his help and support.

Got the wastegate installed.

Finished the rear firewall and got it all riveted in.

The rolled fenders.

We have quite a few parts on order now that should come in this week; including the diff and a bunch of fuel system components to get the back end finished up.

So, depending on the "any day now" birth of my baby girl Sophia, I'll hopefully have some updates this week and next weekend.

Some weekday progress.

Got the turbo enclosure done tonight.

Trying to get as much done as I can before the baby gets here. Which we found out today will be next Thursday, January 15th. We can't wait!Hopefully this weekend will be more productive. The list of stuff to do is still a mile long and the deadline is coming up quick!

Why are you going with the remote mount turbo? I would imagine that compared to other, larger displacement engines, the little KA24 won't spin a turbo too fast.

Could you explain that choice and what STS has in mind for the small engine?

Maybe I missed it, but what class will your 240 be in?

Going remote mount to stay true to STS's concept. They are the sponsor, so I'm going with their setup. Exhaust gasses flow at several hundred feet per second in an exhaust pipe, so I'm not worried about lag or how fast it can spin the turbo any more than any other engine. Having said that, in the end, if I don't get the boost or horsepower that I'm looking for out of the engine with this configuration, I'll change it.

The class is Pikes Peak Time Attack.

Congratulations! My girl is 5 weeks. You will find when she smiles in the morning it will take every ounce of strength to not stay home. Great build as-well.

Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes. Mommy and baby are now at home and both are doing well.

Time to get back to work...

While I was away I got in a few goodies including my EMS (AEM), fuel pressure regulator, some stuff to finish the charge pipe and exhaust systems, the diff, and a few other bits and pieces. This week we have more stuff showing up inlcuding hardlines for the brake system, fuel system and oiling system, Fuel pump and filter, etc. This weekend will be very busy.

Our deadline to have the car track ready is Sunday, March 15th. That means I have only 18 working days (Weekend days) to have the car on the track and ready to test (not including my already busy weekdays).

Wish me luck..._____________

Few updates from this past weekend:

Got the wing (inexpensive, but will work well enough, I suppose). New end plates will be connected to teh quarter panels will help transfer downforce to the chassis. Also a brace will be fitted under the deck:

Gutted the front wheel wells and fabbed the tubs:

Check out how well some kiwi and leather conditioner cleaned up this old wheel (see previous update for the before pic):

The interior is really coming together!!

Here's how cool my wife is...She figures the rear bumper is no place for a task list and a crap way to stay organized, so she went out and bought me this very cool white board. Now I can keep track of the mega-list of S**t that still needs to be done much more efficiently.

More next week. Preview: Fuel line plumbing, brake line plumbing, charge pipe plumbing, oil pump plumbing...see a trend here?

Bye!
