Awesome. E-mail is [email protected]. What's the number you called, by the way, just so I have it if I ever need it.

Ummm Miro I have no clue wut is going on with Nate. I havent heard anything about him for months. Im not sure at all wat he is doing. Tj is not in the country right now as far as i know. I'm down though once i sell my car and buy a Real (manual) car. AS far as Los goes im pretty sure that he will be down for it once his rb is actually running and not sitting in his garage.

We should definitely contact malls in NJ, but I highly doubt that it would work out since they're all close to residential and very visible from highways. But adding it to the list anyway; it's worth a try. I guess I'll remove Palisades Mall from the list.

Haha.. Yeah, I changed it.

We're trying to get the application for the club racing license right now. Dat called the state police and found out about it. Hopefully, we'll have it tomorrow. He also got these rules for motorsports events in NJ: http://www.njsp.org/info/pdf/r...s.pdf.

I changed the proposal so that it is clear that we'll be having a drifting event. Here's what it looks like now:

----------

We are contacting you to express our interest in renting the parking lot on your property for a weekend car club driving event. We are able to pay $500 in order to use your parking lot for one day, preferably a Saturday or a Sunday. The state police has issued us a club racing license, which allows us to legally hold such events in the state of New Jersey.

The event will allow participants to develop their car control ability by sliding (or “drifting”) their cars through a course outlined with traffic cones. The course will be designed to keep speeds low with a safe average speed of about 35mph. We are expecting to have approximately 30 participants in the event. For added safety, only one driver will be allowed on the course at a time.

Ideally, the event would start at 7AM and end at 6PM, but this is negotiable. If possible, we would be interested in setting up a weekly or bi-weekly event on your property. However, this can be discussed at a later date if you are interested in pursuing this route.

The driving event will be conducted with safety as the first priority. As a precaution, we have opened an insurance policy with K&K Insurance, which covers any damages up to $XXX,XXX. In addition, all participants in the event will be required to sign a waiver stating that the property owner is not responsible for any damage to their vehicle or any injury sustained during the event. We would like to emphasize that these are simply precautions. The event will be conducted in a controlled and responsible manner to ensure that no injuries or property damage occurs.

Please contact the club’s event coordinator, Mr. Dat Khong, at (973) 477-5989 or [email protected] for more information. We appreciate your time and hope to hear back from you soon.

I put it at the bottom of the letter. But I think you should be the initial contact person. You're better at persuading people.

I think you need to work on your explanation of what drifting is though. Remember when we were talking to those cops in Fort Lee and you were trying to explain what drifting was. I was thinking... Dat, where are you going with this explanation? lol... They were pretty confused.

This Satuday (April 12th), there is a Club Loose event/NOPI drift qualifier on the go kart track at E-town. It's only for group A and B drivers, but might be fun to watch. I'll be at E-town doing autocross and will stay afterwards to watch the end of the drift event. Let me know if anyone is interested in going.

The autocross event might be canceled due to weather, not sure about drifting.

Autocross is canceled this week at Englishtown due to weather, not sure about the drift event.

Also, Dat was on the Raceway Park website and saw that the new road course is now available for rent.

http://racewaypark.com/main/roadcourse/index.htm

I assume that this would cost way way more than we could afford, but I'll give them a call tomorrow and also ask about renting the parking lots.

Got some nice pics from last Sunday's autocross event at Giants Stadium:

We got the racing license application. I just looked over it quickly, and it looks like we'll need to get insurance before we can get the license.

http://www.projectautox.com/dr...p.doc

Also called E-town to find out how much it would be to rent out the road course, but the guy that handles it wasn't available today, so I should be getting a call from him some time next week.

I e-mailed the person that handles the applications at the state police because there are a lot of things unclear about this.

The application is aimed more towards race track owners. So the part about a building inspector signing off on the safety of the stands is not really applicable. I'm not sure what to do about that.

Also, they require you to have insurance for the place that you will be holding the event at before you get the license. But in order to get the insurance, you first need to find a spot to hold the event (since I think the insurance company has to send someone out to evaluate its safety). So here's the plan right now:

1. Find a place to hold the event.

2. Get insurance.

3. Send in the racing license application.

I'll get going on this once I get some questions answered about the application.

Hey Miro, I just picked up a 89 hatch..debating on throwing in my S13 SR (full out drift car) or I might just part her out so let me know if you need anything. As for mods it has brand new tein basics, 5-lug conversion, custom sub-enclosure. It's missing the hood, f-bumper, fenders, r-bumper, seats. Also if anyone else needs some parts let me know.

I vote full drift car. Actually, if you're going to do a drift car with an SR, you're pretty much parting out the whole car anyway. All you need is the shell. So I would make some money selling the KA, what's left of the interior and other random parts. Then, put in the SR, get body kit, LSD, coilovers, wheels/tires, seats, and you're done. Could probably do it all for 3500-4000.

Dat could probably build you a roll cage and we could all team up to sand it and do a decent rattle can paint job. Depends on if you have a place to work.

Anyway, post some pics, and let me know what you decide. The only thing I'm looking for right now is coilovers, and I need something a lot stiffer than Tein basic. So probably can't really use anything from the car. How are the Stance coilvoers working out for you?

Kool, I'll try and get some pics this week. As for stiff suspension. I feel like I'm going to lose teeth in my car with the full Stance..LOL..I just finished installing the Battle version tension rods, rear upper control arm, rear toe rods this weekend and gave it a alignment. So far so good. I also rolled the rear fenders. Next 2 mods are wheels and Carbonetics "carbon" lsd.

Damn. That's exactly what I'm looking for. So jealous.

Carbon LSD... really? That's pretty serious. I was going to say that ATS makes a really good carbon LSD. But just looked it up, and ATS changed its name to Carbonetics.. lol.

Do you have a fender roller?

I'm going to need to roll them and possibly pull them once I get my new wheels and tires on. But the wheels won't be delivered for another week, so I don't know exactly how much space I need. I'll test out the hammer + 2x4 approach to see how that goes. If it looks like it's going to come out like crap, then I'll probably rent the roller.

Wow you guys got things moving. Sorry for the inactivity, tons of different **** goin on right now.

My boss' racing season started up again, so we've been getting the car ready with that. Nicer weather means my friend asks for help with fixing cars more often. The buisness has been picking up which leaves me tired and lazy at the end of the day. And a racing buddy/friend of the shop has been diagnosed with level 5 prostate cancer, so we're trying to get a few of the guys he and my boss drags with together for a 'final' race this friday at Atco, since on saturday he's getting surgery and won't be able to race for a year after that, hopefully it's only a year and he'll be fine...

I'm on lunch right now and can't read all the posts fully, but I will later. Found out to make my car look pretty again will cost anywhere from 2-3g's from Maaco, which sucks (If anyone knows anyone who does good body work, lemme know). So I think KA-T is closer than I think, if I have to drop that kinda money into my car it ISN'T gonna be on the body...at least not now. I also put in new rear speakers, front's are going in this weekend Now I can actually turn up my radio

What's wrong with the body (besides the rust under your door)?

I would think that you just need to fix that rust and respray.

About the racing license, I got a response about some questions from the state police. We don't need to get a building inspector since there are no spectator stands to inspect. When we send in the application, we just need to state that there are no spectator stands. Also, we're supposed to include a diagram of the course to get that approved. We should probably also include a diagram of a course when we talk to Giants Stadium and other places about renting their lots. That way, they'll have a better idea of what's going on.

They told me that it usually takes about 3 weeks to get the license once the application is submitted.

So next steps:

1. Design course for Giants Stadium lot.2. Call or write letter to Giants Stadium about holding an event.3. Assuming they agree, get insurance.4. Get license.

Now the fun part: designing a course. So here's a satellite image of the lot we'll be going for (same as autocross lot). If anyone has good ideas, draw a layout on it. After we get one that we all agree to, I'll make a nice version on a high-res satellite image.
