Hey. Let's meet up on Saturday at 9:30. We've been meeting at the White Castle on rt. 17, so I guess we can do that again. It's not too far from Paramus, or you guys can suggest another spot.

I'll do some Google Map searching between now and then and see if I can find any decent spots. Otherwise, we can go to Secaucus and look for something else around there.

sups guys long time no talk ............... i been practicing my drift technique ............. and i still suck ............... lol ................... i hav been using highway exits .............instead of parking lots.........i think thats the only way we will improve out technique............... the only draw back are highway dividers , rails and the curb...........lol as long as you dont hit it youll be fine............... try it out.................... oh yeah try to find sharp turing exits........or else youll have to go pretty fast to get the car to drift................and best of all no cops............well somtimes you just have to watch out................exits are good bc you just hit and run.......and go to the nexxt one............try not to do the same exit more then twice a night...................im down for saturday...........someone give me a call if you go ..........

Haha. You can afford to do that since you still have an S13 if you crash the Miata. Some of us aren't so fortunate... lol. Maybe I'll buy an S13 shell if I find a cheap one and keep it around just in case.

I saw this video today, and I thought of you, Dat. This guy just couldn't handle the Miata.

I love the part where the drift king is laughing at him.

at that miata. I'm gonna learn how to speak Japanese damn it! I wanna know how bad he's making fun of him.

But as for the exits, it crossed my mind. Then I realized there's everything I wanna avoid in them (Curbs, rails.......traffic). I'm still in support of the lot's idea, gotta learn to walk before you run

You can still hone your technique in lots, it will teach you control. Not to mention you have a Miata, nice turn in. The 240s are plagued with understeer. I don't needa go to try to drift a exit, turn in....only to find out my 240 won't turn. Not a good feeling, to say the least

Yeah. For some reason understeer is a lot scarier than oversteer. And it's a lot worse if you have stiff springs and the road is kind of wavy/bumpy. The front of the car starts hopping, loses traction, and just goes straight.

But I think I got it under control after that first curb encounter I had a few months ago... lol. I'm ready to pull the e-brake whenever I enter a corner in the rain or snow. Just like when you're drifting, if it starts to understeer, just pull the e-brake to get it to turn.

Yup, but in an emergency understeer, unfortunatly that's not the first that that pops into your head, it's more like "OH ****!". So far I haven't had any dry understeer issues, well with the exception of at the Medowlands (but that was in a controlled enviorment), both times I hit the curbs it was because of understeer + poor road conditions.

I ordered my control arms last night, found the same OE ones on ebay for $92 shipped. That other site wanted like $110, without shipping.

Yeah. I actually went out in the rain and purposely made the car understeer to practice getting out of that situation after I made that mistake so that I wouldn't be like "Oh s**t!" next time... lol.

Just to confirm, we're still meeting up tomorrow night at 9:30 at White Castle on rt. 17. Hopefully, there won't be too much snow left on the ground by that point.

Also, there's going to be a meet on Sunday at Applebee's in Totowa at 9pm:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...=addr

I think it's mostly DSM guys, but will probably find some 240s there. Let me know if anyone wants to come out to that. Maybe we can get some more ideas for drifting spots from people there.

Hey. Welcome. Yeah, you're probably right about having a lot of people together, but the most we've had together at once is five cars, so it doesn't get too crazy. Anyway, it's no fun getting arrested by yourself, much better with three or four of your good friends... right?

Let me know if you want to come hang out at any of these meets, don't need to do any drifting if you don't want to, or if you know of any spots we could use.

Steve, you know you want these: zerothread?id=317942

It looks like there's no snow on the ground here, so we should be good for tonight.

I was like damn, they got every tuner car in north Jersey... lol. That's cool though, I'll definitely be out there.

I'm leaving in about 15 min to go to the White Castle.

Nah Miro I'm good. I'm kinda anti-hubcap.

Figures all these meets are happening when my car is busted. I'm just waiting on the parts now, hopefully within the next two weeeks she'll be safe to drive again lol.

Yesterday's thing wasn't so awesome. Just went to Secaucus for a little and then drove away because there was someone there that looked like they were calling the police on us. Tonight is just a meet, no practicing. I might go to the thing tonight for a little while and spend some time looking for lots afterwards.

Spent most of today putting my interior back in. The paint came out pretty nice considering it was with a rattle can and in 30 degree weather... lol. Hopefully the battery will be mounted by next week.

Shweet. It's for sale, by the way, if anyone has 10k just lying around.

After seeing how well your hatch came out, it slightly motivates me to start sanding mine down. The kid who I bought it off of, started sanding. But never finished, so I'm halfway there

Hey guys, I know we've been looking for spots but I came across another forum: http://www.clubloose.com. Not sure if you guys know about that one but it seems that there are a nice number of drift heads in jersey and they seem pretty organized. Maybe we can meet up with some ppl there and they know of a few places.

I used a stripper disk on a drill. It took off the paint and rust really well. I made this discovery after sanding for a long long time... lol.

About the clubloose forum, I go on there occasionally, but people don't post very frequently on there. And when they do post, it seems to be mostly about the events at Englishtown. But we could try posting in there to see if anyone knows of spots.

Yea I've heard of em before. I scanned the website real quick a few months ago. I think their more for organized events. As Miro said, their the ones that hold the monthly Englishtown events, well as far as I know.

But I doubt their practicing once a month, thats one of the reasons I'm turned off from the organized events. It's once in awhile, I wanna have a set spot I can go when the sun goes down or mebe even with the sun up lol. They haveta have some spots, it's just a matter if their willing to share it with us.

Oh well. Hopefully next week I'll get the tension rods and I'll be out scouting spots again. I wanna look further into that Industrial Rd/Hwy area, as it's name implies, it's very industrial around there.

Also when I get my tension rods and control arms in I plan on hitting up Englishtown (The dragstrip) often, most likely the same week I get the parts. I'll see if I can get a few friends who have WRX's to come anyone else is welcome.

Yeah... lol. They just magically get that good by drifting once a month. Riiiiiiiight.

I've seen some YouTube videos of people from powerzamcam (I think) drifting in Bayonne. I'll look around there when I get a chance and see what's out there.

How much is it to go on the drag strip, and how many runs do you get?

I think it's in the low 20's. Food and drink can be a bit pricy there, but what place isn't? Depending on how big the crowd is kinda determines how many runs you get. I only got there once so far (A Nico meet that turned out me and one other 240, DJNick I think it was).

But you can usually get about 3 runs in. Also depends on how early you get started. Check their website. Got the control arms in today, so shiny
