Yea cops are like a double edged sword. You don't know if their serious or screwing around, until it's to late. Like when he asked if my driving record was clean...I was just honest, I thought so lol. Then you try to explain yourself and they ignore you.....wtf, why do cops have sticks up their ***?

Btw the rim damage isn't that bad, I saw it this morning. Looks like the tire took more damage than the rim lol.

Anyone have a back seat (the folding part) with no rust on the frame that I can buy? I removed rust from all the metal brackets from the interior, but taking the rust off of this is just not worth the time. Or if you know a junkyard where I can find it, let me know.

Miro i think you should just buy a sander and just sand off the rust, after you get all the rust out just paint it......most 240sx have this problem even 94s.......thats because when it came out of the factory it was never painted to protect the metal from rust....or you can dip it in a bath to remove the rust.......i forgot wat it was called but ill look it up to see what i can find.

I think the dip you're talking about is called Evapo-Rust. I have it. It works really well, and I used it on smaller parts. But a tiny bottle of it is $8, so I would have to spend a lot to dip that frame into it.

I used a stripper disk on it today and then a steel wire brush on a dremel. I got all the rust off from the large flat parts, but it's the smaller places that are a b**** to clean off. Wish I had a sand blasting chamber; I'd be done with this in 5 minutes.

I would think there's a bigger electric or air powered wire wheel than a dremel. I'll look through catalogs tomorrow, I'm curious myself lol.

lol... Yeah there are large steel wire brush disks for grinders. I just use the dremel wire brush because it lets you get into the smaller areas. I cleaned off the big areas with the stripper disk.

One area is nice and shiny, now just need to do the rest...

So I finally got my car on the lift today. My boss says the tie rods are straight, but the right looks bent to me. But here's the real winner

That brace, that the tension rods bolt up to, got shifted about 1/4 of an inch. but to get to one bolt I gotta lower the tension rod, so I'll just replace it (Tie rods and strut braces can wait) lol. Hopefully when I get it back in place, it will straighten everything out. You can see the lower control arm being pulled to the front. It also moved the cross member slightly. So when I get the tension rod's and get everything back in place, we'll see if it's back to norm. Go me!

I think when I hit, it's like the wheel and brace got slapped by the curb. You can also see a hit on that brace, plus as I said the damage on the rim wasn't that bad. The toe is horribly off, the right wheel actually sits flush and slightly rubs the tension rod when you turn the wheel.

That sucks. You can get the Nismo "power brace" (http://phase2motorsports.store....html), it replaces both tension rod brackets and isn't too expensive.

The night before last I went up the block to the grammer school to do a few donuts. Till I saw the janitor peering out the window...

lol... risky.

So any idea for spots to visit this weekend? Los, you said you had some places in mind?

First autocross event is March 4 at Meadowlands. Hopefully my car will be together by then. I almost have all the parts: Braille battery, wheels, tires, spacers... just need to get that trunk painted and put everything together, roll the fenders, and should be ready. If people are interested in coming out, let me know. You can use it as drift practice if you want.

Also, if anyone has a warm garage that I could use for stripping paint from my trunk this Saturday... that would be great... lol.

The date is actually March 9, not March 4.

I'm interested to see who's the fastest of the drifters too... haha... But a stock Miata is faster than a stock 240 on a track, so that's not quite fair.

I told Dat already, but basically in tech inspection they just check that you have your battery tied down and you don't have anything loose rolling around in your trunk/interior, just safety things. So everyone here should be fine and doesn't have to do anything to their car.

The actual classes are given here: http://www.motorsportsne.com/2...s.pdf

Stock 240s are in F Class, and you get points for modifications, which determines how many classes you have to move up.

Englishtown goes by SCCA rules, which are completely different from the Meadowlands club. But the events are pretty much the same, just different classes.

That's cool. It would still be nice just to get everyone together even if you're not going to race. You can park there and hang out. There's no charge to get in or anything. Plus, you get to make fun of guys with too much money attempting to drive their Porsches without hitting anything... pretty entertaining.

Yea I wanted to come anyway. But idk if I can come up north tonight, my right wheel feels funny over bumps, plus if we start check out spots, I'll start up and I don't wanna lose it or break anything.

Plus my ten rods are gonna be put on delay, I have my school loan, insurance and my brother's birthday within the next three weeks

Got an e-mail from some more people that want to go drifting; two S14s and an S13.

I have to be in the city all next weekend, so I can't do anything, but maybe you guys can get together with those three. Otherwise, let's meet up in two weeks.

Where in jersey are they located? We still gotta come up with a solid spot, god damn cops piss me off. Would they rather us robbing stores, vandalizing shiz or street racing?

We should find a decent gated lot and just pay off the security guard, just tell em flat out what's up. Prolly be cheaper than a E-Town or any other event.

They're from Paramus. I just talked to one of the guys on the phone today, and he said he knows a place on 17 where there's a lot and no cops come by. We'll check it out when we all get together.

The cops probably would rather have us street racing as long as its not in their town. They don't care as long as they're not responsible for "cleaning up the mess"... lol.
