I'm gonna try to visit the Carlisle Fairgrounds in a couple weeks to scope out the layout. I'll make sure I bring a camera.

Correct. Any make/model car is welcome, but no trucks/SUV's, and convertibles require rollbars.

Are both days (5th and 6th) going to be equal track days or will the drifting/autocross be held more on one of the two days. I am wondering because it seems that D1 US is going to have a round in Jersey on the 4th and 5th. If it happens I want to make it out to that for at least a day and then come to carlisle and drift.

I don't have the operating schedule yet, but I should have an idea of it in about a week when I sit down with the Carlisle folks.

Yep. That's why I've been asking everyone who wants to participate to post on this thread, that's how I can do it. I'm meeting with the Carlisle folks next weeked, so I should have more details then to share with you all.

Yes, we will all have to pay admission to get inside the Carlisle gates It's a Carlisle show. NICOfest is a featured part within the Carlisle Performance & Style show. There's other stuff going on besides our drift/autocross, all of which that admission gives access to. The autocross/Drifting are included in the admission price, making it a pretty sweet deal.

I'll inquire about press passes, but I wouldn't bet on getting them

If it were my decision, I'd say sure, but it's not up to me. It's Carlisle Event's call. I will ask when I meet with them this weekend.

Where/How big is the course? Will there be a cap on number of drivers? Tandem allowed? Where do I send my money?

Want drift btw.

Just a thought so people don't have to scramble through this thread looking for all kinds of slowly piecing together information, can you just edit the original post with all of the infomation so we know exactly who/what/when/where/how/etc. ? Thanks, just a suggestion.

Got you on the list. That's a good suggestion. As I get things firmed up I can summarize it all and put it on the thread that Hitman showed.

If you mean by tandem, 2 cars running close together on the track at the same time, no, I don't think so at this point. Right now, it's one car on the course at a time.

I don't have the track layout yet, but I'm going to see it this weekend, and I'll bring a camera along

There is no cap as to the number of drivers, but they have to register and have a car and helmet that passes tech.

You don;t have to send in any money unless you really want to . Actually it's free with paid admission to the Carlisle event. There's a link a few posts up that includes the admission prices. It's very reasonable.

Okay, I just got back from Carlisle, and saw the course. I'll try to answer some of your questions.

It's an asphalt "out- and-back" oval course with a nice chicane in the middle on each side. One will be somewhat on-camber, the other somehat off-camber which should make it a little more interesting technically. It's a permanent course with a grass infield. I don't have the specs or lengths of the 4 straights, but it's a 2nd gear course with straights long enough that you'll be able wind it up pretty well, It looked in pretty good condition. I walked the course. The course can be run in either direction. I took a few pics, I'll get them posted once I dig out the camera.

It looks fun.

The paddock is beside the start/finish areas and both the track and paddock will be fenced in. There will also be Carlisle security on hand at the entrance to the paddock and track. the drift/autocross event is considered private, so access will be restricted. The paddock is shaped like a tic tac toe board, grass in the middle with narrow pavement roads criss crossing. So I recommend bringing a cheap tarp to lay on the grass when unpacking your cars. The grass was pretty wet when I walked thru it today.

I will need to provide Carlisle the list of participants before the start of the event. so if you have friends that want to drive, I will need them to post on this thread by the Thursday before the event starts or they won't be allowed to run. There will be no walk-ins. If you are a participant, you will need to identify yourself to the admissions person when you pay your admisison and they will direct you to the paddock, where the tech and registration are located.

The main Fairgrounds entrance will be Gate 3 ( K street). It's pretty easy to find. You'll be turning left after the gates. I also drove by the Hotel Carlisle, where the after party is, nice place

the track is located on the north side of the property, and can be seen from the PA turnpike, There will be a lot of spectators, whose main vantage point will be along a ridge that looks down onto the course. Pretty nice. The NICOfest area, by the way, is right in the middle of the action, awesome location.

I secured some tents (canopies), plus a couple tables/chairs for the registration/tech area so they should be easy to spot.

The Carlisle main gates will open at 0800 both days. I'm still working out the schedules.
