Fastest time will go to the CA18DET because its a better drag motor. For a 1988+ Nissan I mean.I didn't read the 4 pages of thread. I am so fricken sorry.

(still, I think the stupid CA18ET S12 would compete with a good driver and a boost controller. The Japs gave us at least one good S-chassis)

It'll be fun to test that theory, as it appears there will be plenty of 240sx's participating...

Okay, here some pics of the course.

the 1st pic is a view of the paddock. It will be fenced in, except for an area to drive thru. they'll be installing it for us over the next couple weeks. the blue plastic waterbarrels are in the background,a nd will be strategically set up at points in front of the fences around the course. There will also be cone markers. Pics 2-3 is a view of the NICOfest area. It's going to toward the right side of that white building, on the side of the Grandstand but toward the center of the field. It's gonna be smack in the middle of everything. Prime location. There will be a Scion club besides NICOfest.

Pic 3 is one of the chicanes and the 180 degree turnaround turn. yes, it is slightly downhill. we can run the course either direction. That is the Pa turnpike in the background. I will have the blue waterbarrels lined up along that fence to help absorb any possible impacts.

Pic 4 is the chicanes from where the spectators will be watching.

Pic 5 is a vew of the start finish plus the paddock area in the background.

Wow. That's strange. I wasn't expecting right angles. Oh well. Will be good for autocrossing, lots of slaloms

Yeah. I think they had autocrossing in mind when they built it. There are going to be plenty of cones available , so if you think we should make the course more intense we have the ability to make changes .

The tire marks and donut marks in the pictures were actually made the other day by a friend of the Fairgrounds owner who tested it for drifting. He gave a thumbs up. I did not drive it.

Hopefully no one slides into a fence, not a lot of room on the highway-side of the course at least.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. The Carlisle folks agreed to place a row of those blue plastic waterbarrels at the "track out" points along that fencing as a cushion just in case.

nsrZ32, got you all on the list. Thanks.

Please add me to the drifters list for Sunday:Kireis14 - Amy1995 Nissan [email protected] experienced novice, ie. not that good...lol

So all Nissans can park in the NICOfest parking section after we pay general admission? Or do we pay the $50 registration fee to park with everyone?

And the season opener for D1GP is on Friday & Saturday- May 4 & 5, so people should have time to come out and chill in Carlisle on Sunday :D

What hotel is everyone staying at?

Oh, I was just curious cuz it looked like Saturday nights were sold out when I checked online, but I'll call them to double check; is there a special rate for NICO members at Hotel Carlisle? That's awesome it's set up for only us :D Thank you! ^_^

I don't think they have a special rate for us, but it can't hurt to ask - Let them know "who you be with"!

You're on the list.

The gate people are going to have your name on the "Drift expo" participant list. When you get to the gate, after paying admission, you identify yourself as drift participant, they'll find your name on the list and direct you to drive to the paddock where the parking is free.

Several of us are at the Hotel Carlisle, which is where the "after party" is being held, It's on Rt. 11. But there are a bunch of other places all along Route 11 within a few minutes drive of the Hotel Carlisle and the Fairgrounds, at all price ranges.

Here's a link to Carlisle Events "where to stay" webpage that lists some of the other places just in case the HC is booked up.

Yayz for second gearing it into a chain-linked fence!

My friend wants to do this event but he fails at internet. What info do you need in order to get him on the driver's list? Also do you need any other info to be on the drivers list other than my username here?

Oh yeah, I read no tandem, but what about passengers? Yay or nae? As long as they have working tech stuff and helmets on their half the car too can they ridealong?

Your friend is certainly welcome. I need his name, what he's planning to drive, and his email address. I now have you on the list, so you're all set. I got the other info I needed off your profile.

Nay for passengers. Sorry.

That sucks. I kind of wanted video of the event. Guess I'll just have to rig something up to film.

Sorry, but you can make one pretty easily. I have a cheap removeable one that bolts onto the drivers headrest uprights and extends between the seats.Puts the cameera eye level right below the mirror. Costs about $20 to make. I think there's an old thread in the archives about making them. Suction cup mounts are not allowed.

Damn, wish we could do passengers so I could get some in-car mentoring. Oh well, thanks though.

EDIT: Oops, forgot my other question. Is there a time schedule yet for this? Will drifting be both days or only one? If it is both days do we have to pay for each day?

Yes. You'll have plenty of seat time if you want to do just one day. I'll be publishing the tentative schedule in the next couple of days. Assuming we can maintain enough NICO volunteers to run the course, we're looking at 6+ hours of track time each day, equally split between drifting and autocross. Plus there's no minimum or maximum number of runs.

I'm about to publish the track time schedule. I also got a preview of the times for the other activities which I'll list too. there will be at least 3 hours of drifting each day.
