So what kind of course is this? Is it a small circuit fit for one car? You should have timed solo runs too, aka time trials. For us non-drifters

Anyway. I wish my Suby friend was back from Nevada by this time, or else she'd participate as well. Bummer. Oh well, perhaps I can get the bf to volunteer too. I'll report back on it Bubba.

That would be great. I'm told it's a permanent course, not a parking lot, with 2 "bustop" chicanes. I understand it's been used primarily as an autocross course, but has enough runoff room for drifting. I don't know how wide it is.

I've begun working on creating the forms. The first draft I have for the autocross is a combo registration/time score form with room for 12 session times, but I have it split into just 2 categories: novice and experienced. I was hoping to avoid creating multiple classes like Solo II does, to keep it simple. But if you think it should be split up differently please let me know. I'm open to suggestion.

I could also use some feedback on what kind of information you'd want to see when it's done (or not want to see). Like lowest times, or # of runs, or maybe 10 quickest times among participants. I'm just not sure everyone will want their times or rankings published. I think if we're sufficiently staffed, we'll be able to record track times on every autocross run, and be able to perform both individual and group analysis of the data.

Data Analyst is another good volunteer position I hadn't thought of until now. Anyone interested?

I see. Well I agree with not doing SCCA classes, that would be a PITA for people to figure out what class they're in, etc. But we should definitely have a FTD posted for both novice class and the experienced class. Also, people's cars are set up differently, perhaps a handicap should be given to people w/o turbo/etc or are running bone stock cars. I know I don't care about my times in relation to others, I go for my personal best so-to-speak, but I don't know if other people are going to be sore about them being posted (only people who've never been to an autox before maybe).

Any pics of this track Carlisle gave you?

Interesting idea. I'll check into it. But I think the emphasis of the event is more on fun. And since the field is unrestricted, I am concerned that there may be a question of fairness.

r-compound tires are a huge advantage, may want to make a separate class for cars running those.

I've been to Carlise, the track is like an oval with a little S-curve in the middle of the strights. Its not really big, maybe 1/2 mile. Atleast that was the way it was 3 years ago. They may have changed it since then.

This is the inaugural one. If it goes well, I'm sure there could be others.

On the first page I pretty much laid out the basic requirements for the car. Add in checking the drivers license for minimum age, and the helmet rating (located inside), and tech takes a very short time. Shorter when done with two people. The cars don't have to be perfect, just safe.

Here is what I'd recommend bringing if you want to work tech. (but certainly not required).

Torque wrench (with diff sized sockets) I'll have mine along, but always good to have a coupleflashlightlatex glovesclothing you don't mind getting dirty (you'll be on your knees at times checking for leaks underneath.tread depth gauge (I'll have at least one, maybe two of them)screw drivers (to pry off wheel covers as necessary)2 or 3 cheap pens

I'll supply up the tech forms, the tech approved stickers and some clipboards.

I don't know what time everything starts up, but we'll need to start tech and registration a couple hours before it gets started. As the event draws closer, we'll have more details.

thanks.

It might not be the Iroc anymore. I might be trading for a later year third gen Formula with better suspension!
