Carlisle Fairgrounds is very easy to find. There are links earlier in the thread to show you how to get there.

If you have questions, you can contact me through this thread or email me via the link in my profile. Your name will be on a list when you pay to get into the Carlisle Performance and Style show. Once you identify yourself, they'll direct you to the paddock. You'll go thru tech, then register, get a number, a wrist band, you and your car unpacked and ready, and wait til the track to go green.

Make sure you have a helmet that passes the min spec, plus make sure to check over your car with that big azz intercooler so it'll pass tech.

Other than that, you;re pretty much set. if you're planning to only drift, we'd appreciate if you could volunteer for a couple autocross corner worker slots. The Autocrossers are volunteering to work the corners during your drift sessions. I'm hopin everyone can pitch in a little to help each other.

Will the track cars be separate from the judging and all that jazz? Also, how are the runs setup?

1 run every hour? 1 run every 15? How long is the track approx? 3/8's mile? 1/2 mile? Laps? Or Point-To-Point? Just tryin to get a picture for how much time I'm actually going to be behind the wheel y'know? I have friends that'll be there that won't be in the NICOclub area -- best friend's rockin an IS300 show car, and I had some friends with a shop I'm supposed to be ... free advertising for. Y'know what I mean?

Oh and will this be more than 1 car on the track at a time? Or completely solo?

As many runs as you want during each period, it depends on how many other drifters there are. There's no minimum or maximum number of runs. The track is about a half mile.. There are pics earlier in this thread. There are no classes or specs, the emphasis is on fun. One car on the track at a time.

As far as drift judging and the number of laps per run, that'll be decided at the driver's meeting on Saturday morning. If the majority want to do 1,2,or even 3 lap runs, I'm okay with it as long as the turn where the starter folks are stationed are not drifted. If the majority want drift judging, we'll accomodate, but so far we haven't had many people willing to volunteer as drift judge.

If you're participating, you can park in the paddock. Otherwise it's general parking. The paddock will be accessible only by registered folks (wristbands) . If you want your buddy to participate, you'll need to give me his info too.

I have been slacking on keeping up with this and posting for a while now, works been keeping me uber busy, nothing like a 50 hour work week to kill your social life. Gnik if you still have room that would be cool, I do smoke but I won't smoke in the room, unless you are super sensitivity to the smell of it on someones clothes. I don't chain smoke so I don't think it will be a problem. If the space has already been called for then I'll be looking for alternative sleeping quarters. If I can't find anything by then I'll be sleeping in my car, I only live 4 hours away but I'm not going to drive home then turn around and come back since I have volunteered for track help on Sunday. I would've gotten a room a month ago but I've been trying to get my car track ready.

I was instructing plus driving. VIR supplied the corner/pit out workers. There were about a dozen workers on the course at any one. The corner worker salaries are included in the cost to rent the track, as well as the EMT staff, , food services, fire and tow truck drivers, security,etc.

Yep, Carlisle is supplying flags for our corner worker volunteers as well as safety vests.

I know you're not feeling well right now, but you know Carlisle is not this weekend. I'm sure you'll be feeling better by the time the event starts.

Did you find a helmet? Gniknave mentioned in the helmet thread that he found a nice inexpensive motorcycle helmet....

the problem is that im not a morning person, at all. i really really dont want to tech a car and miss somthing on it that shouldnt pass. like i said if nobody els can do it then its ok because il be up anyway as angela has to be up then anyway so i will be there at the time either way. do you have a link to the helmet thread?

The paddock and NICOfest tent are not close to each other. The course/paddock are on the northern edge of the property. Since you're autocrossing, I assume you'll want to park in the paddock, so I already have your name on the list, but if there's anything additional you need or want, Greg would be 'da man to speak with...

I see no reason why you can't display your car and drift too. You probably want to go thru tech and register 1st thing early (in the paddock), then take your car to your shops display. That way when it's time to run, you bring the car over to the paddock and get in line.
