Oh snap. I forgot I signed up for that.

Well I emailed him, but he's away at the NicoFest in Utah.

Yo you da man gnik... I was gonna bring my xbox but the GF veto'd that (not to mention she can play Viva Pinata while I'm gone). So it's just gonna be me and my car. Just let me know which hotel you're at and how much I owe you. I'll be at the track and the Paddock pretty much the whole time with short spurrts to go wander the swap meet area and the NICOfest tent. The rest of the show is pretty much not my thing, I don't really like trailer queens and hoochies in tiny clothes don't do it for me...

Yeah so if I'm more turned on by the size of a turbo or a hot car more than an import model in a tiny bikini does that make me gay? I'm going for the cars and the track time, not the itty bitty bikini's and dental floss covering some girl's medically enhanced rack.

Anyone have details on what exactly is going down with the after party Sat. night and if it costs anything to get in. I hope they do door prizes, I'd love to walk out of there with some go fast goodies for my car.

Oh and I'm watching the weather forecast like it's my job. They are calling for sunshine and 69 for Friday.

I'm staying at the Holiday Inn down the street from Hotel Carlisle, I believe it's on Harrisburg Pike. I'll be headed to town Friday, will probably be there by 12 or 1 in the afternoon. Just hit me up on my cell Friday to meet up with me & Wes. (317)956-7548 I'll email you the details about the hotel pretty soon here.

Well,if you said you preferred to look surgically enhanced men in dental floss bikini's over car stuff, then your sexuality might be questioned. But otherwise, no big deal . For the record, I think the bikini contest is late in the day after the track stuff stops, so it's possible to view both

AZhitman might have more info about the after party at the Hotel Carlisle. I've been concentrating on just the autocross/drift portion of the weekend....

There is no additional charge for doing the event beyond the admission charge to the Carlisle Performance and Style show. You just have to ask me to add you to the participant list, which I'll be happy to do. There will be no last second walk-ins allowed. And participating on just Sunday is fine.

I do ask is if you intend to drift on Sunday that you volunteer for a couple autocross corner worker slots. The autocrossers are volunteering to work corners for the drifters..

You're on the list. And yes, Sunday by itself is cheaper. There's a link to the event elsewhere in this thread that lists the admission costs.

By chance are you going to be running at all or are just going to be master of ceremonies the whole time?

I am in the process of replacing the power steering pump on my car today and to my knowledge that was the only leak I had and it wasn't even all that significant. I just hope I pass tech because I have been dreaming of the track time since this thread started.

I'm planning to bring the Z and my helmet, so I might sneak in an autocross run or two. But I suspect I'll be working throughout.

Hey,

Steve Stark told me about Carlisle and the event.... I'm going to bring my car up ... to sell it. (I'm going to just help out all around if that's possible... I'd like to enter my 240sx into the car show... dunno if that's possible now... but I'd like to try...)

But I'm very into photography and I have a video camera... so I am willing to do Plenty of Video and Photographs.

I'm going to try to get out of the last day at my work..

So count me in... Jack

hey I have a motorcycle helmet (a full face design) used for quading and a "brain" bucket helmet used for motorcycles. Are any of these acceptable as a helmet. Their both Snell and DOT approved, but I don't know if their approved for car driving.

Let me know whats up.

If it's snell M95 or higher then you'll be fine. Just make sure the sticker or label is still on it.

gniknave is exactly right. Check the inside of the helmet for that SA or M rating sticker. If the Snell rating is M95 or SA95 (or newer) you're good to go. A DOT rating by itself won't be useable. Helmets without any sticker can't get used.

Hey Bubba, I got a quick helmet question. Is the helmet ok as long as it has a DOT tag inside? I have used this helmet at many drift events and was just wondering if this will be good for carlisle. Here is a pick of the tag:

I also wanted to ask about doing Auto X. Can you also do auto x on top of drifting? And do you have to be on a separate list for auto x?

Yes you can absolutely both drift and autocross. There's no separate lists, you can do as many runs of either as you wish.

Regarding the helmet, sadly, the answer is no. That DOT sticker by itself is not acceptable. The helmet must have a snell rating sticker or tag (SA95 or M95 or newer). Plus the helmet can have no cracks.

Might as well count me out for the Drift-Expo.

My McKinney downpipe has apparently been bent somehow or another and it won't be feasible to run because its actually TOUCHING the underside of the car.

Don't want to start a fire, because generally car-fires don't end well. hehehehe

Well, looks like the car won't even be there. D'oh!
