This is what he's having a problem with. He is confused because his back side windows have a factory tint of less than 70% transmittance (he thinks it is about 30%). What he failed to realize is that he actually posted the answer to his own question (though I'm not shocked, really). Since his SUV is not classified as any one of those things, it's not breaking the law (with any of the rear windows, that is). I don't believe I've seen any of the cars that would fall into those categories having tint of less than 70% transmittance, so the law seems pretty straight forward to me. Not really sure where the hangup is. But, they'll hopefully be able to explain this all to him in court, right before whacking him with the fines and court costs.
