How come no one gets the exhaust without the resonator? Does it sound higher pitched without the resonator?

Stock 91 cat flange is 2.25" right? Because i want 2.5 stainless steel sometime in the future.

Thanks,

Saier

Yeah you get a much higher pitch and more rasp without the resonator. I had the 22 inch and loved it.

Hey Greg, (after a looong time of having to put my S13 on the back-burner ) I have a couple final questions for you, as I am -finally- looking to purchase this muffler.

How long do you estimate shipping to Calgary Alberta, Canada to take?

For paypal, are you expecting money transfer, or will their built in credit card function work as well? (credit card function may be faster and/or easier)

Also, will you ship to a location that isn't my billing address? If possible, I'd like to ship it to the shop for the install.

Guys, pricing is in the first post of the thread.

Clark, I could do the 3" but not the Y-pipe. I'd try using the stock Z33 Y-pipe and have the rest fabbed at a local exhaust shop - should be cheaper that way.

You know it would be a good idea if you had videos of each setup on the front page first page too...

I wonder what a cat+3"piping+22" resonator+dual tip sounds like on a stock KA... i wonder if its still loud?

How do you tune a resonator by placement? They are welded in. My muffler resonates at 2,600 rpm and I can't stand the sound.

How much difference does a high flow cat make? And does it put out more pollution?

You can tune the sound by how close the resonator is to the muffler, the closer they are, the deeper the sound in most cases, I've seen some cars with one under the cabin and another b4 the muffler

And to answer the cat question, they don't pollute much more, some aftermarket cats are WAY better than stock, and your stock one is probably shot by now anyways. I'll tell you one thing, it's 1000x's better than not running one at all, and helps with the sound even

Just installed the stainless steel 2.5 dual exhaust tip with resonator and high flow cat and it feels and sounds awesome! Bolted on with no problems except for one rusty bolt. Better than I expected. Only wish the exhaust came with 6 bolt/washer/nut(s) instead of only 4 bolts etc... When I was removing the cat from the downpipe one of the bolts snapped off, but no biggie cause I was able to aquire some from the store. I would definetly recommend this exhaust system if you own a 240sx. I also received the exhaust before I even closed out the invoice, (btw, invoice is closed) Thanks Greg!

Greg, got the muffler system and got it installed today, thanks for putting up with all my questions. That's one MEAN exhaust. It has the added bonus of giving me a back massage while driving

For everyone else in this thread, I got a 3 inch pipe, high flow cat, and the 2.5" dual tips with a 14" resonator. My god I can't imagine how loud it is without the resonator. AS it is, my girl knew I was coming from blocks away without having heard the exhaust before.

I already got a aftermarket exhaust on my S14, but I will buy one off of here for my S13 as soon I'm done with the 5-speed swap. Nice stuff!
