Well I replaced the 2 rubber hangers on the muffler, but i couldn't remove the bolt that attaches the rubber hanger to the exhaust pipe (about 2' in front of the muffler), the hanger is stretched out a couple inches.

Ginger - Yep!

Guys, keep in mind that many of the fitment issues are directly attributable to bad installs.

Do NOT tighten any bolts until the complete exhaust is hung under the car... Install the hardare, but only turn the nuts 3 or 4 threads.

Then, make sure everything is aligned properly and THEN begin tightening, working your way around the system as you go.

Also, I HIGHLY recommend new rubber hangers, because your stock ones, over years, will "form" to the angle of the stock exhaust, and pull the new one in a direction you might not want.

Just a couple exhaust installation tips from your Uncle Greg.

Hey everbody!! I'm new to the car tuner world! I just got a stock with KA 1995 Nissan 240sx SE manual 5 spd with 64,000 miles. My goles for this car was setting it up for everday driver(street)/track use(time attack). My first choices for my KA N/A i was buying these parts listed here!

Injen Short Ram Air Intake System DC Sports Headers - 4-2-1 Headers Apexi N1 Dual Mufflers Exhaust System

I'm new to car tuner world, "reading as much as i can about my car and wanted some help makeing the right choices!!! Plz any feed back would help.

Ok here's the sound clip:

http://www.kloptech.com/hosting/240sx/RB25-BRM.mp3

I only rev'd the motor to 3-4k then I took off. I think I might have a slight exhaust leak, I'll have to go through the entire exhaust system and do what Greg said above.

hey man, welcome, (i dunno if i should be the one saying that, i havent been on here too long lol) but anyways just a couple recommendations go with a cold-air intake system with an air bypass valve in case of water puddles, oh dont get the Apexi ni DUAL, i really like it, but i hear it weighs around 70lbs! probably not the choice for a weekend track car. umm btw you probably shouldve made a new post for this. phooey on you, phooey on me too

The details are in my sig, but anyway:

3" megan racing downpipe3" megan racing test pipe

3" BRM stainless steel, with 14" resonator and dual tip muffler.

This exhaust sounds awesome and not even loud. I couldn't imagine using a bigger resonator, it must be quieter than stock!

Been a while since I've had mine and if I had to do it all over again................. I'd think harder.

But I'd probably come up with the same decision and buy it.

My only caveat with the unit is the drone I get at 60mph in 5th. Since most of my driving is on the highway, I have a lot of time in that zone.

Now, getting up to 60, or passing 60 is a blast. There have been nothing but complements from everyone.

I'd still want it to have the look of the HKS hi-Power, but then again...it's kinda grown on me.

Keep up the good work Greg.

What about a header and intake system? Ever thought about that? A complete BRM setup from front to back. hmmmmm

Not that I can tell. I prefer the dual tip for appearance.

You'll get a catback with no resonator.

It'll just be piping back to the muffler.....

OK When it comes to deciding on on anything it takes me weeks. It sucks but good in the long run. So its been about three years since this sweet sounding exhaust has been introduced, for those who purchased it, how has it been holding up and (Krazysix) did you have to cut the tow hook to fit the duals?

Greg - The system looks great! I received in on Wednesday this week, but naturally work has gotten in the way of my personal stuff, and I have only been able to look at it. Then I have to go to a wedding this weekend in Kennesaw, GA, but it will go on post haste, I promise. The system also serves as a secondary motivation - It will be one of the nicer things on my car, so I have to get my --s in gear! Thanks for the quick turn around on my order! Jim M.

no, I didnt need to cut it off, it actually fit nicely. I believe it's only on the single tip that you need to cut it off.

As you mentioned, some setup actually quieter than stock. That is exactly what I am looking for. I am looking for better throttle response and additional mid range torque but quiet enough so won't piss people off who lives along my favorite touge. My car is pretty much stock except my intake is AEM ram intake. It gets loud when I rev up to red line and sometime local resident call police.

What would be the quietest and lightest setup for BRM? I would also like to know the weight reduction for this replacement from stock.

Thank you,

I think the stainless steel system weigh less than the aluminized steel. Obviously smaller the diameter, the less material, the less weight (probably negligible). Also the smallest diameter will offer then least noise. As for weight reduction over stock? I don't think there is one?

Most quiet option would be 2.25" with 22" resonator and to keep your stock cat probably.

i deffinately want one of these for my stock ka24de i'm thinking 2.25, 22" resonator, dual tip. But i'm curious ha any one from Massachusetts purchased one of these and passed inspection? without paying some one off for a sticker. This state is rediculous and i'd hate to purchase an exhaust and swap in a stocker every f***ing year........thanx guys. I know there's a few guys from mass in here. I only saw one guy who got ticketed for aftermarket exhaust. soooo let me know greatly appreciated

Oh yes....finally installed. Picked up a cheap xtune header, and got the whole shebang put in for me for 80 bucks.

Let me just say one thing:

THIS SH*T IS BAD ***!!!!

I picked it up a few hours ago. I remember it clearly, the red neck man handing me my keys. "That's a fast car!" --"Gettin' there." I took my keys and started it up, and wow....just wow.

I commenced to really be obnoxious with it out of impulse, in spite of a little car show going on on the square.

Proceeded to drive home and noticed my brakes were smelling pretty badly. Pulled over. Checked. Yup, that old bastard had a good time testing my car out after the installation apparently.
