Hey James! Jared and Mel are going to be having their little girl tonight.

My car is Redline Red. I like the Bronze wheels but I don't know how well they would go with my car since it has the silver door handles and badges. I want to take the badges off but will have to wait a little while on that. They are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 and I want to run a +20 offset.

Well I do agree that bronze will look quite pimp on your red base. If you wanted to keep your emblems, you could always give them the gold treatment, maybe the door handles too... I'm planning to go with bronze wheels as well, LM-GT4'S(18x9.5 all around w/ 245/40/18)

Na the badges gotta go but the front sides and rear hamburger will need to be filled and painted. The 350z is just stuck on so thats easy to remove. I don't know about painting the doorhandles the color of the wheels or the color of the car. Painted the color of the car doesn't look as good as I thought it would from the cars that I've seen do it.

Color matched door handles would be another option indeed, I'm sure you could get it to look good, but then again now that I think about it, maybe not. The Z handles are just kinda funny looking and I think thats why nissan did them in silver cause they don't look good any other way..lol. Maybe just go with shaved door handles and eliminate the problem all together.

yeah, shaving them would probably be the only way to change them. Bronze or red would look dumb, black powder coat might work, but then again maybe not

Hey I just got an email about the new baby girl. So are you babysitting Alden tonight?

hey guys looks like I'm getting that s13 coupe from Brandon. Anybody have any ideas for it? Or maybe some parts laying around?

It's a pignose, front bumper is crap (might be ok if I get all the paint off of it), front fenders have 50 pounds of bondo in them, but everything else is straight. It has no dash and the wiring is butchered and all the 5 speed stuff is gone so I'm going to try to find a parts car with all that stuff in it, plus maybe a motor. Then I'm going to gut the interior, add a roll cage, repaint it inside and out, get some kind of turbo set up for it, an lsd and learn to drift in it.

Sup guys, just checking in on what everyone's up too. I've been busy lately. Trying to find myself a job. Im thinking of letting both of the 240's go for $2,000. Parting out would take too long.

That sounds like a great deal, and you could honestly get a good, reliable car for that much. If your financial situation improves and you get to a point where you can make payments, $2K makes for a nice down payment. Good luck in everything

No and I'm pretty bummed about it too. No girl can resist a 1 1/2 year old so we were going to go pick up some girls. But they had their baby and I went by and paid my visit.

Since the S13 is down to a bare shell I wouldn't worry about the wiring. I'd just figure out what you need to get it running to do what you want it to do. I'd rip everything out down to bare metal and go from there rather than try and repair whats already butcherd.

so you have someone who will actually give $2000 for those cars? If so I'd take the money and run as fast as you can!!

Well, I was just going to rip the wiring completely out and put wiring from another car in, along with the dash, that would be a lot simpler than running new wires don't you think?

Anyway, what color do you think I should paint it? It would have to be something easy to rematch up later and cheap to buy in the first place. I know this isn't like me since I usually hate white cars, but what about alpine white with a carbon fiber hood to break it up? (check out Super Street magazine november 06) This would look really good inside the car where it is stripped down. I don't know, I'm very much open to suggestions at this point, and I don't know when I'll get started either.

I may try to salvage that pignose bumper unless I can find a shark nose for cheap. If all goes well, this project, like my S14 project, will take many forms as it goes along. I figure I'll start with a healthy running KA and an lsd, add a cold air intake, exhaust (all used parts probably), and whatever else I can tack on/take off to make it run as well as possible, plus some cheap springs and a 5 lug conversion so I can use up my supply of tires I already have stacked in my garage.

If I do well drifting and don't crash (much), and if I have the funds, future plans would be a silvia front end conversion and some sort of body kit, and then I was thinking of saving up for an RB25 or 26 even, for the S14, then it could go back under the knife, possibly get repainted again so it's pristine, and the SR20det from it could be transplanted into the S13

So I drove my hatch a little today, man that was fun, the car is stripped almost bare so it weighs next to nothing.(no body panels, bumper supports, lights, interior behind the drivers seat, or door panels) I could get the rear end to kick out in second and chirp the hell out of third. I want to load the car on a trailer and find a big open parking lot to have some fun in.

Here is a pic of the car as it sits now, other than the wheels.

James, go ahead and pioneer that VQ swap for us. SCC recently did a write up on that swap into the s14 chassis. I'm sure you could resolve the intake manifold issue and make it all work and still connect a turbo for a mean swap into your new s13 chassis.

I just thought of a couple of other things since you're asking for my $.02. Since you plan to use this car mostly on the track, why not just go ahead and have your roll cage welded in first and then get the dash to form around it. Another idea is to grab the whole rear end from the z that you may end up sourcing parts from for your 5 lug conversion. SPL has some really good spherical bearing componets that will help tighten up your rear end for drifting.

Hey beatupsx so do you still want to sell me the motor out of that thing? And do you know where I can get 5 speed swap parts and a dash? Oh and do you have an extra ring that goes around the shifter laying around? I think you said you could steal one from somewhere for me... Can I get fries with that?

The front of the fender bolts to the bumper and to a bracket attached to the core support that is a complete pain in the a$$ to get to and requires removint the headlights(I circled it in the pic). To get to the ones in the back, the fender liner has to be removed so you can get to them through the wheel well with a long extention(or several short ones put together). The top and bottom of the fender in easy. Also there is a brace at the front that attaches between the fender and frame rail.

oh yeah and if anyone has an extra couple of fenders and/or a front bumper (sharknose, preferably), let me know what you want for them

gr8bryt, I looked at that scc vq swap and it scared the hell out of me. Not sure if I'm the man for that job. I felt like a rookie putting my SR in, and it was a bolt in affair. Hell, I still have a walbro fuel pump that I'm too lazy to put in. I think I may just take it somewhere and let them install it.

I still really want an RB in my S14, so I think I'm just going to do the KA thing in the S13 until I have enough money to juggle things around to where my SR is in the s13 and an RB25/26 is in the S14. Then I'll take my time with the S14 and really make it sexy.

The S13 however, I'm looking for color options, suggestions about the roll cage, suspension (thank you gr8bryt for the ones you offered), body kit, if anybody knows where they're selling jdm s13 silvia front ends cheap I wanna know, and just any general ideas would be great.

I did not know you could just slap the whole rear end from a z32 under there.... Only thing is, if I found a z32, I'd want to fix it too. It's like I have a heart for lost puppies or something only it's cars that are ready for the junkyard

Yeah I'll sell it to you, along with the transmission. Guiedo has all the parts for a five speed swap and a dash in desent shape.(no cracks but a hole where the previous owner had a aftermarket tach) What ring are you talking about, the one that holds the shift boot to the trim piece or the whole trim piece, and is it for s13 or s14? Would you like to supersize that order of fries?

yeah lets go ahead and supersize that. Just shoot me an email with a price and if you wouldn't mind, find out what guiedo wants for his stuff. If it helps my cause any, tell him I'm willing to haul off the rest of the car or just take the parts, whatever he prefers, and whatever will get it cheaper. Tell him I know a guy with a truck and trailer (his name is turstin ) you've seen this shell first hand so you can understand me not wanting to put a huge dollar amount into it. I wouldn't mind stealing all the wiring out of it also.

and the piece I'm talking about is the one missing in my S14 remember? the metal piece that seals down the rubber one. It has 4 bolt holes and is flat and round. I don't think it matters whether it is for an S13 or S14. I had one that came with my engine, the guy threw it in, but then somehow I lost it

How's it coming on that coupe, do you have the head gasket changed out yet? Are you any closer to legalizing the S14 yet? I really think you need to make some phone calls to someone at the GA dot...
