I'm home and the car is with me this time, pics soon to follow.

gr8bryt, how far from anderson are you? I could pick you up if you're not to far in the other direction, or if you could make it to me (85 exit 19A) and we could go from there.

I live in Columbia (St. Andrews area), so wherever that is in relationship to you. I don't get out too much (for obvious reasons) so I'm not really familiar where Anderson is. Atl is pretty much a straight shot from here though, just jump on I-20 and ride out. The area that I'm in is in aIt's about 3.5 hrs travel time if I remember correctly.

Hey Maxima278, that Inifinity looks sweet man! I prefer the metal dash trim personally, but wood is cool too. You get the feel of luxury and prestige. Nice acquisition, I hope all goes well.

If you know where greenville is, anderson is about 30-40 min south of it, and that puts you about 2 hrs away from me. I'm sorry man, but thats a little to far for me to go, if one of my 240's was gonna be drivable I probably would, but since I'm limited to the truck the gas is gonna kill me.

The spoiler doesn't bother me either way. I kind of like them but if your going to go with a spoiler I think you could do better than stock. Not a recomendation or anything just my thoughts.

I just saw a black hatch on 85 that looked sweet. Nice paint, blacked out windows, lowered with z32 wheels. Not very modded, but clean and smooth looking. I think yours would look good like that.

...In fact I just thought about the fact that I actually know someone who has some z32 wheels to get rid of, you'd just need to get 5 lug hubs. let me know if you want me to ask him about them.

By the way gr8bryt, I-20 goes to a different part of atlanta. Road atlanta isn't actually in atlanta, its actually right off of 85, about 10 minutes from my house

I'll try to get pics some time but you know how that is. It won't affect my plans for the 240 at all. Our car payment didn't go up much at all. I'm still planning an engine swap for the 240 very soon. Any evening during the week after like 5:30 or 6. Just give me enough notice so that I can set aside some time to remove the transmission. Weekends are usully ok, but this weekend is drift weekend and mothers day so not this weekend. You just tell me when you want to come and we'll agree on a time.

Congrats on the infiniti maxima, get some pics up asap.

I'm still working on getting pics of the kouki, I haven't had much time to do anything other than get it off the trailer and dig a horrable smelling air freshener out of the driver's sid door vent.(That smell was driving me ape shlt)

Maxima what time are you planning on going to road atlanta this weekend?

Well i'd also have to get the brakes too and the breaks are not very cheap either. People want like $350 for them. Right now im more concentrating on getting the car to drive smoothly and then work on the aftermarkets. Besides im just going to keep the black hatch as the DD i have the red one to work on. I dont know much about working on cars but im a fast learner. Both cars need some body work also.

CONGRATS on bringing home the Infinity!! I'm sure y'all are gonna love it.

Man it sucks not having my own car, I miss out on so much stuff. Oh well, I know my day is coming soon so I guess I'll just go ahead and get over it.

Hey Cygnus, don't stress that, everyone has an opinion. Just remember that it's all about personal style and that's what makes our cars different and unique.

Hey guys I need a little help with a decision I have to make. My parents are buying me a car for graduation/getting a lot of scholarship money and I'm not sure what to get. I really want another 240 so I found a few for sale around here. Could you guys maybe check them out and tell me which one's you like best? My parents don't want to spend more that 8k though, so some of the cars on this list might be unatainable.

Hey Luke those are some good pics. I would definitely promote buying from another NICO member, but imo he may be trying to get more than $8K for it. I liked that charcoal Kouki, but based on the cons that he listed I would only offer $7K max. That rb powered S13 is a really good canidate, although I'm a little partial since I want one too. You have to ask yourself if you're willing to take on the responsibility of maintenance (oil pump, timing belt, etc). RB motors tend to be a little more of a headache when it comes to those things; albeit there's no replacement for displacement. Even though it's only 2.0 you still get 2 more cylinders over the sr. Then there's always the option to pull the rb and sell it for an sr or whatever. That red coupe looks really clean, but I feel that there's always the chance that you'll get outbid on ebay. Maybe if you go down there in person and offer them $6K cash or something then you could avoid the whole ebay equation all together. You know the saying that money talks and bs walks. If you flash some green they might pull the auction as if it was being sold locally. The high bid at this time is only $3500. I like that grey zenki since it has a fresh swap in it and probably no abuse yet.

I'm planning on going to road atl friday just as soon as I get off work (around 6:00-7:00) and then saturday, it depends on when it starts, I'm not going to rush, but I want to get down there pretty quick. Beatupsx, and whoever else is going if you want you can email me your cell numbers and we can try to meet up and get a good spot by the track. I suggest bringing a cooler and a chair of some sort, and some sunscreen. redemption1978 (Brandon) will be there on friday and I'll probably have my wife with me on saturday. What time are you planning on coming?

are you saying I should change my name now?

Well, I'd rather not on friday because of the drifting. Are you coming down to that? If so, you can come up saturday morning early and get it before I leave to go to drift atl again, or you can come any evening next week. Do you care if I leave the auto transmission still attached? I just have no time to mess with it, and you can maybe sell it and get your money back. I have an engine hoist you can use to put the motor in your truck, but you may want to bring some chains (whatever you used to pull your motor would do ok).

check autozone for new ones. I priced out a brand new complete 300zx brake conversion at like $300 with rotors, calipers, and pads. 240sx 5 lug brake rotors would be way cheaper than that.

I promise I'll post pics of the infiniti maxima as you call it as soon as I can find the time.

Hey Duke- I like all the cars you listed, but here's my humble opinion: I'm a sucker for S14s, so I'm biased there. I love the kouki front end but I would not pay more for it over the zenki because I like them both equal. Also, I would not pay 8 grand for a 240 without a motor swap. Having said that, if you can get the black one from NICO in your price range, go for that. I liked it the best out of all of them. The gray 95 w/ SR swap might be nice, but I'd need more than just a front shot to really judge it. Otherwise, just remember none of us paid 8 grand for what we have so you should be able to get something really nice for that, don't sell yourself short.

I don't think he was referring to the car as an infiiniti maxima, I believe there was supposed to be a comma in there somewhere. He was saying something like this, Congrats on the infiniti Maxima278, post up pics......Maxima being part of your SN.

Duke, I agree that you don't wanna sell yourself short. Do as much research as you can on these cars and take all the factors into consideration. Here's another site that I use for looking for 240's http://www.autoextra.com . You can really taylor the search criteria pretty good on that site; happy hunting.

ive got my motor all torn apart and i cant tell what the problem is. cylinders look good to me, motor turns freely and smoothly, all the rods look good. so i have no idea. i need find somebody that can tell me. any suggestions on what i should do?

Even with the distance factor, if I were in his situation and had access to a pick up truck, I wouldn't mind driving 1.5 hrs to get help fixing my car. The savings in shop labor alone make it worth while. If no truck is available, you might just be stuck taking it in to a local shop.

that thought did cross my mind, but that's what it is, its an infiniti maxima. It's mechanically identical, just more upscale. in fact a lot of foreign countries got this car badged and trimmed as a maxima or a cefiro, or whatever. No other countries got what we know as the maxima except the U.S. that I know of.

scs13, how early can you be here?
