If you don't mind, gimme prices on both please. I'm debating on whether or not to attempt the swap as a DIY project (with help of course). Also, if you can, post a few pics of the merchandise. I can imagine that most of us will want a general idea of what we get, whether it be ka, sr, or rb.

i know you CAN use the stock smic and stuff. but nobody really does that, i suppose i could get an fmic from a starion or something and get some cheap custom exhaust done.

Another thing to try would be to pull an i/c from a diesel powered truck and cut it into sections. A little bit of fabrication and you could come out with a decent 2 row fmic. Ok, so maybe I read too much SCC, but it seems legit if you have a hook up w/ a welding shop.

Well the only bad part is im stuck in school for 9 hours of the day and dont get paid for doing it lol. Im not complaining though because if it wasnt for school i'd be bored for those 9 hours. I just want to get through school so i can start playing hockey full time and work full time so i have money for project. i.e The Hatch

Im going tomorrow to look at that $200 Red Hatchback thats a bit acroos town. I hope it still there for me to snag that baby up. Could use the tires and then i have one project and one daily. Not that a 17 year old like me really needs two cars but hey, it doesnt hurt to have a back up.

I should have my car up and going by tommorrow afternoon. I'm really starting to think one way or another, I'm going to have a turbo swap by the end of the summer. I'm 28 years old, I have a family and more than a full time job, so its now or never. I guess I'm going to go SR for the cheapness of the clips and installation over rb's and the aftermarket support, plus it seems like the best weight distribution for mountain curve driving.

staticx- bring on the price quotes!

so what do we have in here now? 1 350Z 1 Q451 Maxima4 240's or so depending on who's talking1 ten speed schwinn (sorry gr8bryt, had to bust on you a little bit! plus a mixture of ford deathstars, escapes, econoline workvans and stuff

what else we got out there?

Did you ever get the transmission back in your car?

(and add another 240 and a F 150 to that list)

yeah finally. I figured after struggling with it and calling a friend and having him struggle with it for a few hours that the pilot bushing was just not needed with my transmission. There was just no way. It went in tight even without it. So we'll see what happens. I'm taking a risk, I know, but I think from what the auto parts stores say, there are 2 different 5 speed trannys for 240's. One is hitachi, the other is some other brand. I guess some need pilot bushings some don't. I think I'm going to swap an SR in there anyway pretty soon. Thanks for your help though I appreciate it.

Is it just me or are we all doomed to drive fords at least some time in our life? They're like toilet paper. Innevitable, plus you have to have it even though you don't really want it. So why fight it?

Yea, actually before i got the S14 i had a Chevy S-10 to be exact. My mom owns a 97' F150 and i hate that thing. First of all its slow and then it just handles like s***. My dad on the other hand owns a 01' Ram with True Flowmaster's and a Racing Chip.

I was thinking of going RB20. I just think its alot cheaper then any other Turbo'd engine out there. IM sure i'll have a pain in the @ss to find parts, etc.

Im also going to look at that Hatchback tomorrow for sure. I hope its still there and worth the $200. I could make triple that by selling it and or even parting it out.

well, think about my situation for a second. I love manual transmission, small, fun to drive fast japanese cars. What do I drive the most? A 2002 v6 powered e-150 workvan with six ladders on top, about 2000 pounds of wire and other electrical supplies in the back, and 2 missing hubcaps. But I looove the perks of having a company vehicle though

Clubsx, I'll but it from you for $250.

My F 150 isn't stock so its a blast to drive (as long as you don't want to turn at high speed)
