$2500 is not bad. In fact I may go for something like that after my Maxima gets sold. Except I don't care about the body pieces obviously. I think I'll try to find one locally and pick it up myself or something. I'll probably do it all myself except the wiring, I may get tophat to do that. A stock SR would probably satisfy me at least for now. I can worry about building it for more power later, plus I'll have 2 kas to sell and get some money back.

yeah, that is nice, but it probably would be all ate up like that one is, but I will consider using one of those later on. When I paint this car the second time I'm going to buy new fenders and a bumper (fenders because I have bondo in one of mine now, and bumpers because they seem to do better with the first coat of paint rather than the 3rd or 4th), but that hopefully will be a long time in the future.

You know, since you all live close together, you should pool your money together and go buy a $200 engine hoist from like Autozone, a good floor jack or 2, and a $14 socket set from wal mart and take the whole labor cost out of your equasion. I guarantee you any of you could swap out motors yourself minus the wiring.

IF I had the space, I would want to have an xtra ka laying around even if I had a swap done. You never know what will happen, especially if that's your only car.

Man i tell ya cars can be ***holes i finally got my car running good though i had everything fixed on it i actually got my turbo and all back on it cause i found out what the problem was cylinder 2,5 the plug wires had been rubbing the side of the motor and it was arking off the motor.......so i though got the plug wires fixed and got everything put back on strated down the rode everything was killer had all the power back and stoped at a red light and no one was around and when it turned green i took off slow and everything like normal then i slammed it to the floor and the tire started squelin and sliding and it switched to second gear and slid for a sec and then cought and took the hell off and that was it woke up the next morning and craked it up everything was fine went to put it in drive and cylinder ****ing 2 is not working at all period end of sentence so i took everything off and sold turbo and turbo timer, blow off etc..... and sold it still driving the car i hope the piece of **** blows up........LOL so if anyone knows where i can get a 240 that runs reguardless of what it looks like On the out side cause i can fix all that myself let me know cause i might be interested unless i find something out and about before anything on here comes up

my car is being a bich right now. I took the transmission out to change the throwout bearing and clutch and hopefully get rid of this noiise I'm getting when I mash the clutch and now I'm trying to put it all back together, but the dam transmission won't go back up onto the dam engine.

Guys when you do your swaps DO NOT put your motorsets in without doing ALL preventive maintenance on the transmission. (clutch, throwout bearing, flywheel, etc.). Removing and reinstalling the transmission with the engine already in the car SUCKS at least for a novice inexperienced mechanic.

I may have to find out about this guy with the crate of engines....

Yea, once i buy the engine. I was going to add a Stage 3 Clutch or something of that nature before putting it in. Might replace some other things along with it.

That's the route that I was gonna take. Replace everything that is old or could break soon.

Yeah tell me about it. Those little details can make a big difference in both cost and longevity of the main assembly.

Just look at it this way, even if you go ka-t with the motor that you already have, you would have to buy all that stuff anyway in addtion to the turbo. You should probably just run w/ the stock setup for a while until you can get the stuff that you want in order to run higher boost. It's better to take it slow and have a better chance to get it done right the first time around.
