G vegas? not sure where that is. but i might be able to get in touch with my friend Wes. Him and his dad work on cars and they've done my clutch and some other stuff. What you need to have done to it? I could call him tomorrow or so and ask.

What part of GA is his shop in? I have to go to ATL to p/u but I probably won't have the xtra funds to get the body work done. I offered the guy $1300 for it although he's trying to get an xtra $50 outta me. There's some other slight damage to the front pass. fender; heres a link with more pics, a fellow NICO member is selling it.zerothread?id=161553 he says that the car runs well and the interior is in good shape. He just changed the oil and had a small leak in the exhaust repaired.

I've thought about overfenders, but I'd still want that spot fixed. Since the damage doesn't impact the way the car drives, I might just leave it that way until I get into putting my project together seeing how I'll be doing a body kit, paint, and other body mods. If I get a steal of a deal I might consider fixing it, but otherwise it isn't necessarily a priority to me.
He's in gainesville. His shop is called Miracles in Motion. He doesn't mind fixing things like that only as well as you have the money to pay for. He could make it disappear, or get it 'good enough' with a primer patch over where the dent was depending on what you can pay.

Have you considered looking at that guy the Duke's car? It looks really nice for $1500, sure its an auto, but more than half of them probably are anyway.

I've called a few places and they've all turned me down once I told them I have a turboed KA under the hood. Any reputable tuner shops in the area that have a good history of wrenching on custom setups? Especially shops that have experience with Nissans.

Thanks for any information that you all can provide.

See you on the streets!
welcome! do you have pics of your car? Sorry I live in GA so I don't have the lowdown on SC shops but I do know you can drive down to ATL and we have top hat performance which pretty much specializes in KA turbos and even sells a KA crate motor. don't know how far you're willing to drive...

I thought of buying The Dukes car, I've chatted with him b4. I really want a 5spd and I have milled it over for a while. I compared cost for a auto-->5spd conversion vs. cost for body work and it works out that body work would less expensive, even for a DIY transmission swap. I'm sure you guys know how it is when you want something the way you want it. Since this is gonna be a one shot purchase, I kinda don't wanna settle.

Too bad i dont have and money and too bad that the car i just bought isnt a rolling chasis because i might have. Anyways

I am still buying those SE's and i got someone to give me the struts for $30 instead of $65 and i was wondering if i should keep my lowering springs or sell them. Max, you said your stock struts gave way soon after. Is this always the case? because if it is then im selling them. I really want to put them on but i dont have money for aftermarket struts, I'd like to use the money for something else.

It wouldn't surprise me if the stockers can't stand up to the abuse of lowering. On most Nissans it's not recommended to over lower the car due to changes in the handling characteristics and such(ie. Sentra). You should probably just go ahead and sell them. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find a rice boy that wouldn't mind buying them from you. You can buy better springs later, or even a cup kit.

That's the reason that I elected to go ahead and find a 240 w/ oem 5spd. I just don't want to deal with the headache of the swap, sorry Luke.

I swear every day i see atleast 2 new 240's around town or at school. One kid has a primered hatch with an SR (he's a junior) and has been working on it for a few years, theres a gray hatch with black rims and just an intake, then theres a red coupe that pics up a kid at school almost everyday that has different rims on it everyday, then yesterday i saw a red hatch picking someone up. Then there's this girl that has a gold S14, auto thats ugly as **** and then a green S14 SE without the lip. Then there's still plenty that drive around town.

Who's zack hafler? Can you give me his screen name or something? Also, I don't really want to wait forever to get this swap done. My parents are going to pay for it since i got almost a full ride to clemson, so i just need to get the stuff together.

My struts didn't have too much life left in them before I lowered them. My front does not bounce because of the weight of the engine, but when I took the struts off they would not even stay decompressed. they just fell all the way in. Lowering just finished them off. I've never heard anything about that you shouldn't lower Nissans. I mean anything over the 1.7 f and 1.4 rear that mine is lowered looks goofy imo and can't possibly handle bumps worth a crap, but mine does not handle badly now, especially with the new kyb rear struts. Once I get new front struts and strut bars, it should handle awesome. Of course it will handle differently. It will handle better, and it already does. ANd it does NOT look ricy.

I recomend aftermarket NEW struts as opposed to OLD stock ones, they will handle better. I mean the difference between $30 and $65? Can't be that bad. whether you lower it or not is up to you. What is the brandname of the springs you have?

Also keep in mind that these cars are at least 10-15 years old so replacing any component on the suspension with something new will improve it greatly. I know I only replaced 2 of my struts but it almost seems to make the car feel newer when it moves down the road

next weekend is not good. I'm taking the family to gatlinburg for the weekend. I'm starting to remove the transmission today. Best I can figure it's either the throwout bearing or the flywheel. I think the transmission itself is ok I believe the problem to be clutch related somehow.

Just kidding. Well maybe I'll be able to talk you into it some other weekend.

I wish I could come up there and take them off your hands. Even with having to get new tires, I think those would be better than steelies. I'll be putting down a deposit for my car this week, gosh I'm soooooo happy

Both...The seller is a NICO member and I just have to go down to ATL to pick it up. I consider that pretty local since it's just a little bit outside of driving to Charleston or Hilton Head. It's the same car that I posted a pic about the damage in the rear panel.

Hey ClubSX, you're supposed to be getting your wheels today right. Post up when you take delivery. Another option that you might consider would be to polish them to satin-like finish. Gives you the sleeper look and makes your car look real clean, especially if you can keep all the pollen from building up

Just to clear the air, I wasn't trying to imply that anyones car looks ricey when lowered. I was just saying that he probably wouldn't have a hard time selling his springs with all the rice boys that are out there. Some of those same rice boys, they would try to lower their nissans like the honda boys do, not realizing that nissans don't have as much suspension travel as the honda struts do. I agree that any mod to STOCK suspension will drastically improve the cars ride quality.
