Guess you can't really blame him though. I'm sure he's anxious about getting that new turbo!

Just out of curiousity, does anyone have ideas about the following:

1) Kelvin for S15 HID's?

2) Approximate hp it takes for a 10 sec 1/4 mile on a car that weighs between 2200-3000 lbs?

I tried searching, and I hope I'm not thread jacking. But seeing how this is more a general chat than anything particular, I figured that I would throw em out there to see what you all might have to say.

I just ran across this while searching about the Kelvin for the lights. You'll probably wanna or you might get a good laugh. I don't know, but here's the link, I can't imagine what's next.........http://customwheel.com/pimpstar.html

somebody posted something about those wheels in the general chat. its kinda neat, but pretty gay at the same time. i was wondering when something like that would come out.

and 2200-3000 lbs is a rather large range. you think you could narrow that down?

Those wheels are something else. Maybe I should get a set for my Z and program it to say NICO!

Or I could program it to say I have more money than style or brains.

Which wouldn't be true because I can't afford that stuff. Finally something expensive I don't want!!!

I was thinking somewhere in the high 500 to low 600 range. N-E-way, thanks for the input. I'm guessing that Nissan uses 4100K for all their HID's, but the style of light housing (projector or non) determines how the beam pattern appears to an oncoming vehicle/person.

I'm trying to get $3500 for it, bottom price. Actually, it does get slightly better mileage than my 240 and it is a hell of a lot faster. Right now it gets around 25 mpg. here's a link to my ad for more pics:

I do know someone who has an S14 who posted a best time of 11.86 in the quarter with an RB26dett, stock, with limited slip, stock interior, crappy tires, etc.

If that helps.

Those motors come with 276 hp at the wheels I believe....

I might take it to the strip everynow and again, but that won't be my primary focus during my build up. I want a reliable street car that can hold its own in any venue, although I did consider road course racing. Racing is hard on the chassis and motor, I will be using my 240 as a daily driver mosty with an occassional outting to a track to feed my NFS. I was just curious about the hp since I had read an article about an R33 w/ 2.8 RB26 running in the 9's with like 800hp or something.

I don't think 550whp is too much for a street/weekend racer

If anyone is knowledgable about body work check this please. Would I be able to scour the junk yard for a replacement panel, or will I have to go to the body shop?

You can't replace that panne, err well you can but it would be more trouble and money than its worthl. A really really good paintless dent repair person might be able to push it out fairly well but I don't know. Usually its the smaller stuff I see them working on. If you want it to look like it was never pushed in you'd need to take it to a body shop. The best pdr in the world couldn't fix a crease in the metal.

O well, it was worth a shot. I am looking to buy this car soon and I was just trying to get an idea of whether it was a body panel or actual sheet metal. Thanks though.

A good body shop could pull that out and bondo it the rest of the way. You'd be surprised at how little bondo they'd use. My father in law would probably fix that for you cheap if you wanted to drive it to GA.

Another solution, wide-body over-fenders. You'd still want to fix it somewhat, but not as thoroughly.

What is the overall condition and price of this car? It looks good other than that panel, is it affordable and does it run good?

never woulda thought about over-fenders. its too bad its not a coupe, you could just do an awesome r32 conversion

Hey, does anybody want to buy an 89 240 hatch with a rebuilt engine? I'm trying to sell mine for around $1500. Also, I'm trying to find a good shell for an sr swap. I have the money now if anybody has an old shell they want to get rid of.

Hi everyone,I'm new to the Upstate area. I was wondering if some of you could recommend any good shops in the area that are known for good performance work. I've called a few places and they've all turned me down once I told them I have a turboed KA under the hood. Any reputable tuner shops in the area that have a good history of wrenching on custom setups? Especially shops that have experience with Nissans.

Thanks for any information that you all can provide.

See you on the streets!

There was that one guy at the meet I think his shop was pretty close to g vegas but I don't know for sure. I don't know if he would work on a turbo ka either but its worth a few seconds to call and find out. Maybe someone here knows who I'm talking about.

What part of GA is his shop in? I have to go to ATL to p/u but I probably won't have the xtra funds to get the body work done. I offered the guy $1300 for it although he's trying to get an xtra $50 outta me. There's some other slight damage to the front pass. fender; heres a link with more pics, a fellow NICO member is selling it.zerothread?id=161553 he says that the car runs well and the interior is in good shape. He just changed the oil and had a small leak in the exhaust repaired.

I've thought about overfenders, but I'd still want that spot fixed. Since the damage doesn't impact the way the car drives, I might just leave it that way until I get into putting my project together seeing how I'll be doing a body kit, paint, and other body mods. If I get a steal of a deal I might consider fixing it, but otherwise it isn't necessarily a priority to me.

If I ever get another 240, I was thinking of a convertible show car with R32 rear, S15 front, and KA-T
