I think Charlotte will be better for 2 reasons:

1) Everyone will be @ MB in July for the beach, and

2) The cops in MB give you s*** about cruising the strip.

I'll have my 240 by July, albeit it will still be stock. I'm looking forward to my first NICO meet.

I think its a good Idea to keep it at one place. Even if we dont do Sunliner. But when we keep in in one place it gives people ability to know where its at. More local sponsors will get involved due to them finding out about it and wanting to be there for the next one.

We need to keep it at a point where everyone seems to drive the same amount of time from GA NC and where im at.

to rule the point with the cops... I know a few cops at the beach... so I doubt we would get in too much trouble... The only reason why we would get in trouble is if we were like FRESH ALLOY haha ... but whatever, if yall want to meet in Charlotte, that's cool with me...

This seems logical with 1 exception, it would be impossible to find a location that would be equidistant for members in all 3 states. Wherever the event is held, whomever lives in that state will obviously have a bias. I do like the idea of local sponsorship though, and that is one of the best arguments for keeping in one place.

What about Char. Motor Speedway? Even though the event might not be as big as NOPI, the infeid of a racetrack provides a lot of space for a multitude of activities. I dunno about what red tape would come into play though?

I wonder on how much that would cost.

but the place in Greenville I was actually the person who drove the farthest of three hours. Everyone else was two and half and lower.

I imagine that it will be kinda pricey. Maybe this is a good time to start petitioning the locals for some sponsorship to offset the cost. Also, the folks over @ CMS might offer a discount if they see reputable businesses endorsing the meet and not just a bunch of car nuts. I don't know about the track, but Char. is only like 1.5 hrs(max) from Columbia.

Renting a track like that for an event like that doesn't seem that feesable. You would need some major cash to rent the track for the day. They wouldn't just let you rent the infield. Its all or nothing. I think it would be better to find someone with a business and a large back parkinglot that doesn't give a crap about insurance regulations.

I don't know what type of scene the Sunliner is, but I'm sure it is a good location. We can keep the options open between now and whenever the meet happens.

If Sunliner winds up being the location of choice, it would probably be a good idea to go ahead and get the wheels turning for things to do. We wouldn't want another turn out like the last one (at least based on what you all reported).

My bad, I was under the impression that things didn't go as well as planned. I didn't get to attend so I don't really have that much insight of how things went down. I understand that whenever something happens for the first time, a lot of variables come into play which impact the outcome.

Yeah, I agree a lot do go into play. I was worried it would fall apart but it didnt.

Its cool...some people were disappointed it wasnt better...but for a first time run I believe it went very good.

Yea my mom is trying to get a car now for better gas mileage and i told her a 240sx and you can get a damn good one for around 5 or 6k. She test drove two Ford Focus (Silver 2001-87k on it, and a Blue 2000-135k on it) I told her how the KBB prices have gone up for the cars and will be even higher in a few months.

Nopi was a lot of fun last year. I entered the Maxima so I could get an awesome parking spot! It was great to have my car inside the infield that way I could have a cooler, some lawn chairs and a place to go back to every now and then. The 240 was getting ready for paint at the time, but I should have it there this year.

I really hope the 240 scene doesn't change for the worse after fnf 3. hey, the eclipse and supra scene didn't change too much after the 1st one, nor the evo, eclipse, camaro, or challenger scene after the 2nd. So maybe we're safe. I think the biggest change will be with the drifting scene. Which seems to be moving away from 240s anyway.

Good point about the car market. Supply and demand is the way our society operates, but you have the monsters that try to rape you too.

My wife has a ford focus and I don't really care for it too much. I must admit though, I grateful for what we have. Still doesn't beat having your own car.

Yea she went to the dealer now and looked at a 05 and they want 13k for it. For that price you can find a Kouki S14 for half that with around 60k miles on it. Im sure that's why all the car companies these days are having trouble selling cars and sales plummet. They add like one new feature or say they do and then rake the price up another $1,500. I know the 240sx doesnt have more room then a ford focus but 13k for a car that is only 3/4 the size of my car is not worth it. Besides my mom would be carrying around her dogs sometimes and im sure they'd have enough room in a hatch or in the back seat to lay down.
