Ah Rice. Well I don't consider this to be to ricey but I had a 92 Ford Escort With 15" Monsoons, a stainless steel filter and a glasspack. It was clean for what it was. On the other hand one of my friends is a rice fanatic.

1st car- 87 Honda Accord with a Pacesetter exhaust (it gets worse) he ended up driving it off the side of a mountain but wasn't hurt

2nd car- 90 Acura Integra with the raspiest exhaust I have ever heard, a 5" tip, Lowered 3"(kidney killing ride not to mention looking like a mexican), all vents, speaker grills, door handles and anything else he could take off spray painted white

3rd car- 97 Eagle Talon ESi started off with 18" Monsoons and it looked good, then he sold the wheels for 2" lowering springs and wing that made his car look like a shopping cart, then he rearended some old lady in the rain(and I always thought that the wing would give him the downforce to stop better) J/k

Man, don't EVEN get me started on the non-turbo talon/eclipse platform! They look good, but I honestly think hondas run quicker....fortunately I don't see nearly as many of those riced out.

Here's something else, that car has potential, just like hondas do, but the ones you see on the street making all that G--awful buzzing, bb's in a can racket and *trying* to act like they have a quick car (cuase it's shiny and blingy) are the ones you can smoke leaving in second, talking on the cell phone, drinking a slurpee (shifting with ur elbow) AND shortshifting to THIRD (maybe slight exageration, but you've all been there). Anyways, if I end up getting in the throttle now and then it's cuase I love the sweet sound my car makes, not becuase I'm *trying* to show off and be Mr. Joe Cool Ricer.

Oh, and I really don't understand how a FWD car is fun to drive, no tail wagging, add torque steer, add understeer, crappy traction on a launch...etc.

Furthermore, I think the Evo and WRX are ugly cars (IMO) -and NOT nissans, but I very much respect them for their performance and engineering. (AWD is ok in my book, but FWD, I just don't get it.)

See, you guys got me started with all that honda/eclipse talk...I gotta get outa the ricey thread.

Oh, BTW, ran across a mustang thread and they thought we were all ricey for liking that "wierd drifting sideways thing".

I'd take a Nissan 240sx with an RB25 or 26 anyday... :D

Watch the SVT's eat your exhaust then.

I dunno, I think an properly tuned sr motor car with a good chassis setup would still smoke 'em cuase of the weight diff. BTW, that thread was on "corner carver" or some such where the mustang guys talk about road racind and such. Especially if ur talking pre-94, same size tires as a 240 can fit, but some 4-600 lbs heavier and with a solid rear axle until the newer cobras...

Plus mustangs are just cheapy built and fall apart, I know, my dad had an '89 GT that fell apart and I bought a '99 brand new when they came out and it started falling apart.

I know an SR, or a CA, or even a properly tuned KA24ET/DET could do it, but if they want torque, I know the RB's will give it in gobs. :D

I might as well post my rice confession. I used to drive a 95 Saturn SL. The base model with no power anything, not even power steering. I had a chrome intake, 8.5mm plug wires, and a neon blue shift knob...:thumbup <slaps own forehead>

Thank God I grew out of that. No I own Jackie, my 95 240sx se with only a K&N drop-in filter as a power mod. My suspension is another case: Battle Version adjustable tension rods, Eibach Pro-kit springs, KYB AGXs, and eccentric camber adjustments for the front and rear. I love taking my turns...:D

so you like your set up? I was planning on going the cheaper route and doing springs and struts also. coilovers are too expensive.

Ok I am late to get back on this thread but your original statement was Vague at best. It was as if you were saying a stock EG6 SI model would beat a stock 240sx. Unless the 240 was ragged out, or driven horribly the 240 would be superior. So don't get all upset bout it. I can't speak for the others. I even said the EG6 was my favorite civic, but the numbers don't lie.

Stock EG6 SI: 125 hp, 106 lbs/ft 1995 modelStock 240sx: 155hp, 160 lbs/ft 1995 model

The only argument you could make is weight, and that is a poor argument as there isn't that much difference in the 2 cars.

Yeah, but they're nice! I got my Tanabe Pro-SS (unadjustable dampending, adjustable ride height) with helper springs (better ride) for $850 in Dec.

It's a good set up for the money. I could use a little bit more stability in the front though.

I was about to say that probe doesn't look all that bad........then I saw the characters on the door. They wouldn't be bad if they were smaller, and the car wasn't a FORD(even though the car was technically built by mazda for ford i believe).

you are correct the car was build for for by mazda i drive a 91 probe and had to fix alot of ****. control arms, valve cover gasket, brakes, transmission linkage, transmission, axle, powerstering unit, tierod ends, and the stablizer linkage. it was at that point that i learned that i couldn't get any parts from ford but that i had to goto mazda and get parts for a 626/mx-6. so basicly yeah mazda made the probe. and seeing how mines at 184k and still no problems with the engine. they did a good job but i wouldn't sup it up. i dislike fwd. but still. it's RICE. Did i mention that his car is not GT it's gl.

Yea I hear ya. That probe isnt all that bad. The only thing I dont like is the fact that he has the stickers on the door and the tint is ugly.

I don't mind the stickers if they were on a japanese car(aka Mazda, not Ford Probe)

I know, I know Mazda made it, but it's got a blue oval on it. Nissan has nissan. Still means something. It's not being passed off as an american car.

that wing is still hanus. I believe you can make probes fast though. but you can also make any car fast with $$. yea drop the 240 and rb25 plan. sounds like a good plan to go with a probe.:rolleyes

Im not a big fan of "Asian letters" on cars. People usually don't even know what they mean. it could say I suck pen15 and they wouldn't even know it. I myself would just like my chinese last name on bottom corner of my windshield :D but the side of the car idea is dumb IMO.
