The stock r180 open diff wasn't gonna cut it so I swapped it out for a clutchpack r200 lsd out of a late model Z31 turbo. Its a longnose r200 so it basically bolted on with minor mods. Axles are stock for now with new joints, im hoping since I road race and daily drive they wont break to soon. I have no intentions of putting drag slicks but if they do break I'm going to convert to CV's from a later model nissan.

whats your opinion on the 3.5 intercooler piping and hp/boost lag??? It seeems that the piping would be a bit to large for such a small turbo?? I too wanted to go with 3.00 but for now 2.5 since my turbo is stock.

Everything is a compromise, depends on whats important to you. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between 2.5 or 3" piping with your butt dyno so if you want 3" do it. I felt it looked nice in the engine bay and I plan to upgrade the turbo so it works for me. I did run 2.5 inch on my Sr20 for years though, it just fit the situation better. 3.5" is a bit overkill though :D

Love the car. Would love to get a clean chassis 240z and throwing my motor in it. Can't wait to see the finished product.

fellas i am currently attempting to do this. Although it's difficult as hell to get a good chasis right now. I only want to spend 2000 on a chasis. I look everyday on hybrid and cl.

I totally agree, these cars are getting harder and harder to find in decent condition. Some are so bad it wouldn't be worth building if you got it for free. My advise would be to find one with a solid underbody unless you feel like doing a ground up restoration. So many of these cars are so rotted that you can apply the brakes like the flinstones lol.

My radiator finally arrived last night at 730 so I only managed to mount it. Ill have some pics up later today for sure once I get hoses attached and get some bugs worked out.

Yesterday was hectic didn't get to do an update. I got the rad installed and finally ran the car. I love how the rad came out, has the oil cooler built into the side tank which is pretty cool. Everything went really smooth with the exception of the TPS sensor. I think the pos and neg need to be reversed to correct the signal, im going to take care of that today and maybe get some footage of the car. Other than that it feels like a million bucks. I feel like I bought a new car again, I must say bushings make a HUGE difference on a 40 year old car. Here are some more pics, I am waiting on my front spacers to arrive so dont mind the front offset lol. Pics dont do it justice though, it looks like the devil on the road, super mean look hahah.

Wiring was pretty straight forward. Pretty much give power to whatever the RB needs via constant or switched connections. I ran the original water temp sensor to the oil pan for oil temp. Hocked out the amp meter gauge and replaced it with another temp gauge and I ran that to the stock coolant temp location. Used the stock oil pressure sensor and fuel level so I have full functioning gauges in the center stack. All the Z accessories like lights and windshield runs to the fuse block which has a line going to the alternator, that takes care of powering up the Z stuff. Also I had to run 2 relays to power the fuel pump and fans. Pretty fun converting a carbd car to EFI. :D

Well I ran into a bit of good and bad luck today. Fixed the TPS and the car ran AMAZING at stock boost. It lasted for 10 seconds and the turbo gave out. I picked up another one locally and ill slap it on tomorrow.... unbelievable

Thanks guys, couple of updated pics from the crest. Car is a blast to drive at 14 psi... the rb25det neo turbo spools and feels very different from the r33 rb25 turbo, way laggier but much better top end fwiw. Looking for a GT30r if anyone has one
