So we threw a little birthday party for a good friend and my Birthday last night. We both have the same birthday and even the same year. He also has a built S13 Hatch (SR20, GT2871.86) and his girlfriend made us this cake.

I thought it was pretty cool :)

Im also going to be replacing all of my LCA ball joints as well. I picked up Moog rears and I just ordered the Moog fronts. Moog is a great Company and their products are worth the extra coin.

Yea thanks for replying. So removing them should be very easy, let the fire to its thing. That brake setup is sick, brah.

Thanks I appreciate it, Arizona Z Car sells amazing Wilwood Brake Kits. My kit cost around $800 IIRC

Well i got some work done this weekend. I got the subframe all cleaned up. It looks great considering i didnt go nuts with it. I also pressed in the subframe bushings and cleaned up my garage so everything is ready to bolt the subframe back in, hopefully next weekend.

All I'm waiting on is taking my ball joints to my buddies work to press them in, and a few final touches and I will be ready to put everything back together. Only to get state inspected for registration, and then immediately starting on the front end bushings/ball joints/brakes/sway bars

Well all of the subframe/rear-end bushings are finished. It took longer than I expected getting the RLCA bushings done, its just a very awkward piece to try and use a press on, lol

But I will assemble the rest of the subframe throughout the week, and planning on bolting up the subframe this weekend.

I also returned the Moog FLCA ball joints i bought, I found an entire OE replacement arms off FRSport.com for cheaper, comes with the bushing and ball joint pre-pressed, and its not bad getting a whole new arm. :)

Image

I also picked up a pignose lip finally. I only was looking for a local purchase. It took almost half a year, and this is the only one i found. So i bought it.

I also am switching all my cars over to AMS Oil

Well I got a lot of work done yesterday. The subframe is bolted to the car and everything has been put back together. I took it for a short drive and it feels great, its needs an alignment bad, but it was great being able to atleast drive it.

I will start on the front end next weekend hopefully, it is going to be much easier than the rear and I should be able to knock it all out in 1 weekend and have it ready for an alignment shortly after.

I also am going to pick up a set of 180sx sides sometime soon and prep them and my pignose lip for paint so I can throw those on as well.

Well I got a lot of work done this weekend. I finished the steering reack bushings and swapped in the new front lower control arms. The new sway bar and the Tein upper Pillowball mounts are installed as well. :)
Everything was going great and I was finally about to bolt on the new Wilwood brake kit and I found out that I was sent the wrong caliper brackets. So I called Dave from Arizona Z Car and he was very helpful and will have it worked out shortly.

I have spoke with Dave a few times, very legitimate customer service and Im hoping to have this done with an alignment and on the road as soon as possible.

Looks like there might be a minor delay in the correct mounting brackets...

this is why im glad i did this all during the winter weather season. My plans are to do nothing major to the car this entire summer. I do have a few cool things planned, but nothing that will keep it off the road. I am really just looking forward to enjoying the car as much as possible.

Hopefully it wont be long before I have an update with these brakes. But i should be finding out what tax season this year will bring me, so hopefully i will have some new purchase updates soon as well.

Well I'm still waiting on the caliper brackets .. but I have made a few small purchases that I found.

I picked up these fuse box covers from a member on another forum. They were only like $16 and you can have whatever you want engraved in the middle. They look awesome. :)

I will hopefully have the brackets in the next few days. I really want this ready for an alignment on Monday. As Mondays are the only day we have access to an alignment rack..

So I should have an update soon..

I'm very skeptical of those china arms. Not for the fact that the arm isn't the same, but I'm pretty sure those balljoints are made of cheese compared to oem or moog. When I crashed a bit ago I opted for a used oem arm over a new china one. Plus moog joints are quality. Have you had experience with these things?

^^^Well there isn't much to be skeptical about the flca's themselves, but the ball joints probably aren't Moog or OEM quality.

The worst I see it, these wont last another 220,000 miles as the OEM ball joints did.

The rears are Moog, but if I ever feel the fronts are a weakness, they will be changed out without hesitation, just as anything else would.

Not too shabby. Got in a tug of war with a submarine and lost, busted my back all to hell. Been walking like an 80 year old since August, hence the ZERO progress/updates on my s13. Getting better with physical therapy, should be GTG by May/June. Been lurking and reading with jealousy, just waiting to get clearance to work in the garage again.
And drooling over your build.
