ok, it's not that bad when it's not freakin huge, like the case of the early Q's, man I hate those front ends...no offense early q owners

Look at the front end long enough & it looks like a 92 Crown Vic, Mr. Blue Oval. :D

I don't like it much either, but it's growing on me.........slowly...that's what I tell myself.

true, but I hate those crown vics, I prefer the new ones hands down! I like a little bit of grill on a car, we'll ignore mine doesn't have a grill, but it doesn't have quite the blunt front end either, the rest of the Q looks great though.

If I had one, I'd be tempted to pop the emblem off though...

this reminds me that I need a non beat up hood for the tbird so I have the emblem back on there:D

It would be cool if you can put the hood and grill from a 94-96 Q on a 90-93. Man, that belt buckle Badge is ugly. No ofence to the 90-93 owners.

That would work if you replace the front bumper and fenders. No offense taken - it's an acquired taste.

I love my belt-buckle look. Most first-gen Q owners would say the same. Heath's dead on, it's an acquired taste: kind of like the FX.

Anybody else have this prob?I can't get out of the front seat! And no fat jokes! How do you get out of the front seat without destroying the side support?

I have that problem with other cars - talk about uncomfortable trying to get in and out of my girlfriend's 93 Mercury Tracer. The only time I drive it is if I'm testing it after some sort of duct-tape repair!

The side supports do get more wear than most any other part of the car except the arm rest.

No "mist" feature on wipers, can't pull once like on Toyota and get a full sweep.

Door lock switch on passenger side would be nice (having no switch is confusing to passengers even though locking that door will lock all of them).

Driver's window switch in center console would be nice.

Glove box should trigger alarm if windows are open and doors are locked.

That's all!

With the mist feature, I like what the Q has better than normal cars... I like it that you press the lever down and back up and it gives 2 wipes rather than one, so it gets that extra little bit of residual water right in the middle (that bugs the crap out of me)......

Now that it's lowered, it looks better, it *is* an acquired taste, I'm getting used to it.

Besides, when anyone makes a comment about it I tell them:

"I understand your difference in taste, if it's any consolation, you won't have to worry about seeing it in your rear view mirror."

YES! YES! That drives me crazy about the wipers! How does a car of the Qs level have such a gross omition like that. No mist. My piece of crap 86 Chevy Cavalier I used to have had mist. Are new Infinitis the same?

i think people must have listened to your complaints, because I have most of the features you guys are complaining about. I have the mist feature, for instance.

I also don't have that tin can sound when I shut my doors..

Missing features from 96 Q45t are:

-moon roof-cooling front seats as opposed to heated seats-LED gauges-navigation option with built-in LCD monitor-rear AC vent-more rear leg room-a little more wood trim options (on the steering wheel, front console, etc).-HID head lamp with projector-and lastly,,,,,,,,, A CUP HOLDER! :D

Should at least look like these pics:

Mist? I have never used a mist function in my entire life. What is it? Just a light spray? Whats the point of that?

I can't stand how the heated seats only work if you're sitting in them. That defeats the whole purpose because I still have to sit in a freezing cold seat. No other manufacturers heated seats work that way.

And I agree that the air conditioned seats like on the Lincoln Navigator would be great.

The mist feture is when you get a slpash of water on your windshild, you push down the wiper lever and the wipers wipe once. Right now in the Q, when this happens, your turn on the wipers and it wipes twice.

By the way that pic of the Q interior with the Nav is cool. Good pic kimrober! I would love to have a car with Nav. Where did you get that pic? that would be a nice custom job to have done.

Dash reflecting on the windshield in the night in my new G drives me bunkers.

Stock tire sizes on G sedan, Infiniti, WTF ????New Maxima has 245/45-18, Golf GTI has 225/45-17 , what do I have ? 215/55-17

And lastly, where is LSD ? My 240 had faster out of corner acceleration.

Once I have extra cash, all those things will be fixed, exept for maybe dash reflection.

I was thinking the same thing. Anyone ever used roofing shingles as a cheap dynamat alternative? I heard they work nearly as well.

I hate the wipe twice wipers. My old Maxima had it and I was crushed to find it when I got my Q. Maybe someone can find a way to enhance the 'feature'.Not much else for me to complain about. Maybe a 5 speed transmission would be nice.

Those pics are of the Nissan President - probably from the http://www.nissan.co.jp site? In any case I think the president was finally redesigned this year after 13 years of production. I went to the site, but couldn't find it - can't get babelfish to work tonight either, so it probably has something to do with my not being able to navigate very well.

So we have heard what people don't like. I would like to ask what improvements people have made and would recommend. The picture of the Nissan President is very nice, it would be great if some of those trim parts were available for purchase.

So Heath, are you telling me that in Japan, Nissan has been making a G50 gen car all this time. Wow. I guess it's a testament on how well designed our 1st gen Qs were if it lasted 13 years.

Last year for the G50 based President was 2002.

Here's a link to the new president.

http://www.nissan.co.jp/PRESID....html

I think Infiniti should go ahead and export it to the US as a niche market LS430 killer at about $65K, and then upgrade the M45's styling to take over the sportier luxo-cruiser market that they're partially filling with the Q and M right now. The Q and M are too close together in market segment.

Very cool, I had no idea. So there is still support for the G50 President beautiful front sheetmetal over there?

One of my employees is going over in a couple of months, perhaps he could dismantle a clean new-ish front clip & ship it back.
