Honestly, my J has been the most solid, noise free, and just a blast to drive. My M is a heavy piece of car with annoying quirks. The power is it's saving grace. I've been shopping for a 97 J for some time now as a second car.

Interesting. The J30 does seem to be an over engineered vehicle which is no doubt partly why it was dropped from the line up. I am very happy with my J and always look forward to any chance to drive it. I keep thinking I'll grow bored of it but in the 3 years I've had it the driving pleasure remains the same as when I first got it if not more with my fresh suspension and new OEM brakes/rotors.

However, the exhaust has developed an annoying buzz/rattle @ 2200 rpm. Gotta take care of that.

My J did that also. Some rocks got between the cat convertor and the metal shield and eventually the shield came loose. All you need to do is have the shield spot welded back in place.

Yep. I've been chasing those rattley heat shields for a while now.

Hmmm, I think that this is for safety. If the car was on the highway, and you inadvertently open the door (for whatever silly reason, I agree!), and the seat retracts so that someone cannot reach the pedals or brake, it could make for some interesting problems!

I do agree that my concern here is pretty darn minor! As long as the car is in park, it should move back.
