Just as long as you clean underneath the keys, 'cause they'll get stuck.

Hey don't forget the welding helmet too. That's kinda important...
I received some amazing torture referred to as "flash burn" once after trying to weld using sunglasses. It's super fun and stuff.

got one when i initially bought the welder. it's a harbor freight, auto dimming one. works pretty well for the price i paid.

not welding related, but a great tip: never use aircraft stripper without gloves then try and pee. :nono:

Next month has a Friday the 13th too. And November. 3 in a year. Neat.

   I can only imagine... I used to use that stuff on actual airplanes and I didn't dare use it without gloves and glasses...

Also, that Auto dimming harbor freight mask is actually a pretty good one, as far as bargain masks go.

so i'm going to have to invest in a cheap wheel/snow tire combo for the st next winter. the factory eagle f1's are horrible for snow ice. the torque doesn't help. i've only driven it maybe twice a week in the last month because it keeps getting stuck in my driveway (i have to go uphill to get to the street).

Snow tires are absolutely worth it. I found a set of used Hankook iPikes for $350 this winter...best money I've ever spent on tires. I can absolutely get through winter without snow tires, but it's SO MUCH more effortless and less stressful with them. It's also easier to have fun in the snow when you have proper control over traction at all four corners.

Don't have snow, don't need snow tires.

Actually, we did have a deep freeze accumulation last year. It was like 3-6 inches, but that's enough to shut Tennessee down. Not cause of the snow, but because of the ice and the inability to effectively salt the roads. Let's put it this way: only reason I couldn't get to work was because they didn't salt the main road, the interstate was closed due to too many wrecks, and my tires weren't the best.

My GF was like, "but you have 4WD!" I kindly informed her that a lack of traction is a lack of traction, no matter if you have 2 wheels or 4 wheels pulling.

Oh, and the fact that $12/hr is NOT worth me getting my truck totaled because other people in the south can't drive in snow.

That mirrors my thoughts exactly. I went with General Altimax Arctics on the wifeunits car. They did pretty well on the ice. Where I live the altitude changes are ridiculous. There's a 1 mile hill you have to use to reach my house, with alot of turns and some of it is quite steep. They take really good care of it, but occasionally it can get hairy. The rest of the local area is all similar terrain. You need to be on your toes here or you will crash, period. I park my 540 as soon as the first snow hits and usually it stays parked until spring. The old Express is a tank and I keep a set of chains in the back in case it gets really nasty, or ice forms.

This^, but keep in mind snow tires begin to lose grip the more they get below 50% tread.

Definitely, which is why I like to keep a separate set of wheels with snow tires mounted. It's been hard to find steelies that fit over the LS8's brake calipers AND match the oddball lug pattern, so I am not doing that with this car, but I did with the Q45. Winter in the northwest this year has been all over the place, and I wish I could just throw my all-seasons back on until it snows again, but for now I'm just chewing up my snow tires on dry asphalt. :squint: I was hoping they'd last me two winters, but at this rate it doesn't seem likely.

Sup guys. As promised, here's a few pics of the Z I just picked up.

78K on the clock. Bought it from the second owner who drove it 24K miles in 10 YEARS. He was an older gentleman and was selling mostly because it was getting hard to get in and out of. It even has the original T-Top covers and super kewl 90's front end bra. Overall, I think it was an extremely solid purchase considering what I paid. Now it's time to get rid of the Maxipad. :)

Dude! That thing is ridiculous stupid clean!

And yeah, the stock exhaust is pitiful. Just wait till you see how much it weighs. The mufflers alone are like 15 lbs each. Not even kidding.

Anyone computer savvy help me out?
I'm interested in buying this. Any reason I shouldn't? I don't know a lot about Asus.

I personally like the 2+2 better. It suits a GT more. The dimensions on the 2+0 may be more "right," but to me the subtle slope of the 2+2 is more eye pleasing. However, I will concede the 2 seater looks more sporty.

Also, it's an ice apocalypse in TN right now. Brooke was doing 5mph on the highway, and she lived in Indiana 4 years. Like, my gravel driveway is frozen. I'd take snow over this any day. But basically, this is an accurate representation of what's going on:

also, mig welding is SO MUCH f*** FUN!!!!!!!!!!

after setting everything up, we decided to re-weld the seams on my wheelbarrow. we did it before with the flux-core, spatter everywhere. busted out my new makita grinder with a wire cup, cleaned those seams up and started the fun. much cleaner welds, for a couple of novices. the penetration was fantastic. on the outside of the wheelbarrow, the weld filled in the seam beautifully. i would've found more stuff to weld, but it was valentine's day, snowing pretty heavily, and my buddy still had to pick his gf up from work. plus i was doing work on a case of beer.

Nice!

And we've only hada few days of unreasonably cold. We had a high of 2 last year. This year it's only gotten down to 7.
