got one when i initially bought the welder. it's a harbor freight, auto dimming one. works pretty well for the price i paid.Dattebayo wrote:Hey don't forget the welding helmet too. That's kinda important...
I received some amazing torture referred to as "flash burn" once after trying to weld using sunglasses. It's super fun and stuff.
Next month has a Friday the 13th too. And November. 3 in a year. Neat.sx moneypit wrote:Mornin' folks!Friday the 13th.

That mirrors my thoughts exactly. I went with General Altimax Arctics on the wifeunits car. They did pretty well on the ice. Where I live the altitude changes are ridiculous. There's a 1 mile hill you have to use to reach my house, with alot of turns and some of it is quite steep. They take really good care of it, but occasionally it can get hairy. The rest of the local area is all similar terrain. You need to be on your toes here or you will crash, period. I park my 540 as soon as the first snow hits and usually it stays parked until spring. The old Express is a tank and I keep a set of chains in the back in case it gets really nasty, or ice forms.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Snow tires are absolutely worth it. I found a set of used Hankook iPikes for $350 this winter...best money I've ever spent on tires. I can absolutely get through winter without snow tires, but it's SO MUCH more effortless and less stressful with them. It's also easier to have fun in the snow when you have proper control over traction at all four corners.
