We do sweep and clear the house with our Nerf guns though...lol. We're ready for Zombies.

I was actually looking at go-pro so I could make vids of the boys doing CQB in the basement with airsoft. Dylan (7) isn't bad with the AR platform. Mossberg makes a really cool variant in .22 Cal. I was thinking that I would get him one for his birthday this year.

Meh, bring it. The first person that steps out and tries to tell me how to raise my kids will get fully enlightened as to why I live in the country away from people. Also, that evil looking gun is nothing more than a .22 Rimfire. It's got the same function as this gun below.

Image

But the mechanism was placed into an AR type frame. Same gun. One just looks evil. I was shooting the .22 Rimfire at summer camp as a cub scout.

right on. as a scout, i shot .22, 12 gauge, and black powder. but with all the nonsense that's happened, people are all of a sudden retarded when it comes to firearms. and being in ct, i get to hear a whole lot of it from both sides.

I couldn't retire anywhere in New England. Too much bs for me. Pretty much do what I want out here in Ohio without breaking any laws.

As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy some loud music when I cleaning. Not much better music for screaming out the lyrics than Simple Man (live) by Shinedown.

Speaking of guns, I will be getting one of these this weekend:

Image

Remington 870 Express 12 gauge.

I had to sell my riding mower back to the guy I got it from, since the new yard is too small for a rider. We made a deal for him to trade me the shotgun and a new Honda self propelled mower though, so i'm happy with that. I only had $300 in the mower anyways, so i'm still making money on the deal :)

One of the most reliable firearms made. Great for everything from blasting birds to taking down the largest game in America. Great trade dude.

I have some of my old mans vinyl and he gave me his old stereo equipment. I'm going to build a sort of custom retro looking entertainment center shelf thing. All I have for speakers are a set of Bose 201's from 1997. Things still sound great! I also have a generic JVC 5 speaker surround blah blah with a sub. So I just use the sub and the 201's anymore. My living room is f*** huge with like a 25' ceiling and it's loud enough for me. I have a set of Pioneer tower speakers that I don't use. They're just big and ugly...so they sit in the basement awaiting whatever we do down there.

that is pretty cool, but i don't have the available wall space. plus it doesn't really match the decor.

and that officially topped my list as the gayest thing i've ever said.

HAHAHA! I hear ya. Sometimes I stop myself and pause...did I just f*** say that? Then I go wash my eyes out with Hockey.

Also, Saliva - Click Click Boom gets my seal of approval for some kitchen pre dinner prep work music. If the Zombies come tomorrow I'll miss Pandora more than anything.

Click click boom is great. I like drowning pool - bodies for when I feel like some spirited driving.

Funny anecdote about drowning pool. we saw them live as an opening band. No one in our group had any idea who they were until they closed their set with bodies. There was a collective "ohhhhhh", followed immediately by some head banging.

So much goodness, there. Pretty much all 4 are endless excellence. 3 is just SO DAMN GOOD, though. Friends, Gallows Pole, That's the Way, Bron Yr Aur Stomp...so effing good.

Then there's Your Time is Gonna Come, Going to California, Misty Mountain Hop, Black Mountainside, Battle of Evermore, Ramble On...

I'm a total Led Zeppelin whore, btw. Own pretty much every album release including live stuff, and it never disappoints. The London concert (released as Celebration Day) from a few years back with Jason Bonham has some incredible versions of Kashmir, No Quarter, Good Times Bad Times...

Well, I know what I'm doing for the next few hours. Thanks Tito!

Oh, and while I'm posting photos...I built this last weekend:

Nice! I don't have the patience for the kits. To me lego's were always in a big box and you just went at it. Now everything is a kit, with directions. Yuck.

Our lego's start out in a kit. My kids start following the directions and then quickly realize f*** that, space ships and tanks are the way to go. What's that you say? You don't like that idea? Death by Nerf Gun!

I only like the ultra large kits. I also really liked the Star Wars sets. As much as the new 3 movies sucked, I did thoroughly enjoy this kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/3011426298 ... =82&chn=ps

The pictures make it look smaller than it actually was. It was about a foot long. I also built a star destroyer and an X wing. I had a ton of those kits. Ah, memories.

Yeah, most of mine are either Technic or big Star Wars kits.
WDRacing wrote:Nice! I don't have the patience for the kits. To me lego's were always in a big box and you just went at it. Now everything is a kit, with directions. Yuck.
For me, it's almost two different toys. I love building the kits because there's a sort of discovery/engineering aspect to seeing how things take shape. But I also enjoy building my own creations. Usually, when I build a kit, I modify it a bit as I go. That Mini, for example, was RHD in the kit, and the engine looked really stupid in the original setup. It also had euro tail lights which look silly (stupid European aversion to red lamps). So I tweaked it all.

My Technic supercar kit was really fun to build because it includes a 4-speed manual gearbox, a differential, and of course a V8, plus E-type style IRS (RWD) and double wishbones with rack-and-pinion steering up front. Great for teaching friends how their car works.

Just spotted something interesting in the Age of Ultron trailer at about 43 seconds: an Opel Omega. I thought it was a Catera at first glance, but when I went back to point and laugh at it I spotted the Opel badging.

Don't really know much about the movie, but either GM has thrown some oddball surplus at Marvel for shooting, or some of it takes place in Europe.
EDIT: Wow, I feel dumb. Spot the s*** Cadillac but miss the european-style license plates? Fail.

Anyway, there's your one-two punch comics/cars über-geek crossover moment for the day.

Oh, also, for the love of God, whatever you do, don't ever buy a Logitech M560. I'm using one right now and it's taking all my willpower not to hurl it at the wall.
