LOL. I suppose if there are no good pizza places in the area, then a chain like Pizza Hut would seem good. But to an northeasterner, eating at Pizza Hut is like going to NYC, where some of the best Italian restaurants in the world are located and praising Olive Garden. Am I right, Tita?

You've got to take a short trip up here in your ST. I'll show you an AWESOME pizza place that is exactly what you're talking about.

Can you computer geek dudes help me out?
I saw these two deals on Woot and have been in the market for a simple use, internet browsing, general purpose home laptop to use when I don't want to fire up my aging, pokey home PC. I'd also like to use it to hook up an HDMI cord to my tv to watch streaming tv or video. It should have Office for those times I need to make a power point or word doc from home.

Are these two worthwhile? I'm especially attracted to the price of the Samsung, but I don't know d!ck about laptops or computers these days.

DO NOT buy that Samsung. Samsung makes junk PC's first and foremost and it's a Chromebook, so it doesn't have Windows on it at all. It's basically just Google Chrome and that's all you get.

Buy that Lenovo. It will be the best damn money you'll ever spend. Ask Jesda.

Honestly though, depending on your budget i'd spend a little more than that on a laptop but if the Lenovo is about what you're wanting to spend then i'd go with that. If not, i'd hunt for something between $450-600, but that's just me.

YOU LIVE IN KENTUCKY, YOU STOP TALKING ABOUT LAPTOPS RIGHT. NOW.

10-4. Thanks for the heads up on Samsung. My computer knowledge is about 7-8 years old. Not applicable these days.

That Levono doesn't have HDMI, does it? I don't see it but am also not sure if they have their own name for that port.

DisplayPort: 1
eSATA/USB 2.0: 1
USB 2.0: 3
VGA: 1
RJ-45: 1
RJ-11: 1
IEEE 1394 FireWire 400: 1
Docking Connector: 1
Combo Headphone/Mic Jack: 1

I want to spend more, but I have a hierarchy for my next big purchases.
1. Ring (should be all set by April)
2. Gun (a cheap hi point 9mm to enjoy some quality time at the range)
3. Moving
4. Computer

However, if something cheap in the 100-$250 range showed up, I'd be all over the computer just to snatch it up. The computer is much more a "want" than a "need."

You definitely want an HDMI Output. I found some sweet ASUS models the other day when I was browsing. I've had decent luck with them. I heard Sony dropped out of the laptop bizz or I'd recommend them for sure. I love my Vaio, although it was pricey.

Ray,

DisplayPort is just a fancy HDMI, you can get a cheap converter for it. ---> http://www.displayport.org/faq/

Lenovo rocks BTW. Get that, it's actually a great deal. i5 laptops are awesome, and even a lower spec like the 520 is a great improvement over the shi*ty older "core 2 duo" that I have.

Yeah I'd jump on that Lenovo too. After I was able to look it over again, it is a damn good deal with it being an i5.

Hmmm. I'm typing now on a year old "s*** Samsung" laptop. I've had zero problems with it since I bought it, so it really sucks. :) Just curious, what's so bad about them?

Underpowered, cheaply built, and subpar features.

I've had zero issues other than the battery dying on my 3 year old elitebook, and I've modded it. It also probably has 5x the processing and graphics power. Let's put it this way: I run Far Cry 3 on max settings, and it very seldom lags.

I've never heard of Samsung laptops being crap, but I can verify that they tend to be underpowered compared to some other brands... But that ChromeOS laptop there wasn't made for much more than browsing the internet. Somehow some companies think people actually WANT to keep all their files on "the cloud" (what a stupid moniker, ugh), so they can sell you underpowered and under-equipped stuff and make you think you're getting a great deal when you're actually paying like twice what the thing is worth IMO. F*ck that noise.

Howdy fellas.

Got home to about 2 feet of plow in front of my driveway last night. With nowhere to pull off, I decided "f*** it" and rammed that s*** with my car. Subarus with snow tires can climb f***' trees man. Until you high side them. Thankfully, a whole lot of floorin' got me out of the situation and into the driveway. Thanks, Homer.

i have a ridiculous amount of plow snow in front of my house. i cleared enough to get out of the driveway, i'll have my buddy come by with his plow to clear the rest for me this week.

speaking of homer, him and i plowed my mother's driveway, and his sister's driveway, all while singing the mr. plow song.

Thats awesome. I tried to sing it for Lindsey, but its lost on her due to having not watched that show growing up. She still won't watch it for some reason.

Howdy Ben!!
How goes the good fight? Did you get the 240 sold?

Brooke doesn't watch any cartoons because they're childish. Then, she turns around and watches Baggage, The Newlywed game, the Bachelor, and Keeping up with the Kardashians.

I don't understand Women.

I never liked or watched more than one episode of the Simpsons either. But I love Futurama. Life is wierd.

Then again, I can remember when there was no Simpsons, too.
