Heh, Brando doesn't get a hello.

Ben, Ray, Tita. I'm on day 3 of 4 of being off work. I may actually lose my mind.

Heh, tomorrow is the first day I will have been at work since last Thursday. This time of year can suck sometimes.

I mainly just keep to the office or go out riding the trains around the city on my days off. We have a recent addition to our subway, the silver line! Now I can mess with the rich folks out in Tysons, lol.

I've also been building a linux box for a combination work file server and home theater PC. Anyone have a spare 400W Dell ATX power supply laying around? They want like $80 for that nonsense around here, ugh...

My wifeunit made it to work, but she spun around on the highway after swerving to avoid a car stopped in the right lane, right after a turn. Luckily the snow bank kept her from contacting the concrete center barrier and there was very little traffic so she was able to recover.

She's safe, but pretty f*** anxious. I'll be driving down to pick her up and taking her to work tomorrow.

We haven't had any winter weather here. I'm talking maybe some sleet, and maybe a quarter inch of snow.

It started already there? Cool. My guess is we'll be seeing it sooner than expected, too. I only have 3 beers. Going to have to remedy that this afternoon.
Gas station was a mess this morning, but I'm all topped off. Also have an electric snow blower this year! :woot:

yes and no. There are plenty of kids in the neighborhood that could do it, but none of them want to. It's surely a different world than when we were kids (and I won't call you Shirley).

Shoot, snow shoveling is fun to me. Maybe cause I never got to do it. I'd do it for a quick $10 or $20. Kids suck.

We got what we wanted out of it and the buyers are paying closing cost, so we're good with it.

We're moving to the Louisville area. I got a promotion at work this past September and part of the deal was that I would relocate to the Louisville branch once we could sell our house. The wife has already been working in that area for 3 months now, so she's been commuting an hour to work 3 days a week.

Communting an hour 3 days a week?!? That sounds like heaven to me, lol. Be glad you guys don't live in a horrible congested city area like here... The average commute I get is an hour everyday, and getting back is more like 2 hours.

Sheeeit, Brooke and I live about 30 minutes from her work without traffic, and her average commute is about an hour and 15 minutes each way. Nashville has exploded in the few years I was gone to the Navy.

We had the opportunity to move to VA and that was the many reasons we nixed it. We used to have nearly an hour commute in GA to both of our jobs and it was pretty much torture to me. My in-laws live near Manassas and my father-in-law has a ridiculous commute every day. No thanks :ohno:

Yeah we'll miss our old commutes, but even working in Louisville won't be horrible most days. Right now it takes me 25-30min to get to work and it used to take the wife about 2min to get to work because the hospital was literally across the street from our neighborhood. We're moving to Shelbyville though, so she'll have about 10min commute when we move there and i'll have about a 35-40min commute.

So. Much. Snow.

The lady and the doggy at the end of the driveway. We live on a state road and get molly-whooped by the plows at the end of the drive. Its a b**** to shovel.

That drift on the roof is about 3-4'.

Snows was well above my knees in the driveway this morning.

This isn't a drift...

What have I learned? This s*** feels hopeless until you get a good rhythm going. It would have SUCKED to be in Buffalo at the beginning of the year.

Tomorrow will be better- going to ski some epic powder!!!
