credit cards paid off in full today, getting my mortgage rate dropped from 5.5% to 3.875% at no out of pocket costs to me. all other outstanding loans (2) paid off by next week. what a fabulous start to the new year.

Good job man!

Just switched to some no interest cards myself. One year from now, they'll be all done. In the mean time, the cash I'm not spending on interest is going into my depleted savings account for one of them shiny ring thingys.

Dude, I saw a fu*king turkey vulture eating some roadkill just inside the yellow line on I-66 yesterday just after the entrance ramp from VA-7 headed east toward DC...
I almost hit the damn thing with my driver's mirror and it didn't even budge. The thing had to be 3 foot tall easy...

Dude, my dad drove a Dodge 2500 flatbed for work a while back, and a damn turkey vulture actually flew into his truck and broke the drivers side mirror completely off and cracked the left side of the windshield. s*** was intense.

The thing about them isn't really that it was in the road, but the fact that they look like the servants of death itself.

A head lookin like a bloody stump sticking out of a black, matted cloak with soulless, empty, dead eyes. Its enough to scare the sh*t outta a grown man. I know they're supposed to be condors, but WTF was nature thinking?

My favorite thing in the world definitely has to be lagging out of a singleplayer Diablo 3 game right before finishing my last daily bounty because of my s*** Cable One internet connection. 90ms ping on a good day! HUZZAH! And for $50 bucks a month!

I despise monopolistic telecom market structures.

I have no patience for low quality Internet connections. We have T3 at work and it's literally the worst thing on the planet. They finally got tired of hearing us b**** though and are upgrading our branch to 15mb/s and the main branch is going to 50. Literally we got where we would jokingly yell when the IT guy was in the branch "ALRIGHT EVERYONE GET OFF THE PHONE. I NEED TO USE THE INTERNET!"

In other news - I upgraded my Nexus 7 again last night(just a bug fix update) and played around with it for like an hour. Lollipop is a whole lot better for sure but it still is meh for me. There are things I like about it, but it does nothing different than I can on a daily basis right now. To me it's the same ol Android - it could be so much better than it actually is. It is stepping in the right direction, but with every release it seems to be lacking.

I think I need to sell this Nexus 7. Every time I pick it up I want my phone or my iPad back.

@#!$ %#@!$%$#! %$# #!%@$$@#%^ $#^@! @$#^ ^$%@# %$#@! ^@$%#%#^$ $@#^ ^$#@@$^#

It just f*** happened. AGAIN. The @#$^% s*** part (for which I blame Blizzard AND Cable one) is taht when you lose connection, your bounties reset. f*** asinine. So guess what? FIGHTING the boss for bounty #5 and my Cable f*** pile of s*** One drops out AGAIN. I called them before, and their suggestion? Replace my coax cable.

You know what my suggestion is? Tether the whole damn world to my phone because my T-mobile 4G connection is VASTLY SUPERIOR to my WIRED CABLE ONE CONNECTION. WHAT THE HOLY s***. Better ping, near equivalent download, 5 times the upload, doesn't s*** itself every five minutes, and costs half as much. How the expletives is that even possible? How can your LANDLINE CABLE INTERNET be s*** than 4G cell?!

Lollipop is a nice step forward in a lot of areas. It's made progress in all the RIGHT areas for me. I have root and that's it. The only things I miss from my former custom ROM or Xposed days are advanced power menu and wifi hotspot toggle in the drop-down. Pretty much everything else is there. I do wish Google Now Launcher would let me customize my homescreen layout a bit more. A 6 inch screen with 493 DPI could easily display more than 5 icons across. Wasted functionality in the name of consistency.

Oh, there are a ton of gorgeous launchers out there that are PnP. Look on xda. There's a huge thread in the N6 general showing homescreens. Honestly though, I like a cleaner design with a "less is more" feel. Homescreen is bare-bones, and window #2 is all my "utility and media" things.

That's exactly why I haven't used a non-stock homescreen in a while (well, that and GNL's monopoly on clean Google Now integration). I was using XGELS on 4.4 with Xposed but that ability is gone now. I just want clean, but I don't need the huge blind-geezer-size icons that the stock DPI produces on Android phones. Stock DPI is usually way overkill. I'm playing with DPI settings to see if I can find a sweet spot. I spotted a thread on XDA showing a 7-across homescreen just by setting DPI to 460. Sounds like the magic button I've been waiting for.

Yeah I use my T-Mobile 4G at work more than the wired connection. Naturally I don't use it for the work computer but the wifi is basically useless right now. Hopefully it'll be a lot better soon.

That is one thing I will say about when I had Android - I preferred bare bones on the home screen, then I usually have the other screens full of the stuff I'd use normally. Since switching to the Google now launcher though, I only have one screen at the moment. Just basic widgets then use the app drawer for everything else.

It's weird though, because I don't like clutter on Android but it doesn't bother me on iOS for icons to be everywhere. I honestly wasted so much time changing my homescreens on android though it was stupid. I couldn't ever leave it alone and didn't really ever adopt a standard layout.

This is getting goddamn ridiculous. Cable one just shat itself AGAIN. Sitting here, minding my own business, website hangs--look at the modem and it's going through a power-on/connect cycle. THREE TIMES IN FIVE HOURS. Their diagnostics can't find s*** (took two calls so far to determine that). They'll schedule a tech for Wednesday, and have the GALL to explain that if the problem is not identified as Cable One equipment, it'll cost me $45 for the visit (or would I like to add a $5/month service to waive that cost?). f*** that. If they ask me to pay $45 for it, I'll cancel on the f*** spot. Their s*** is broken. They need to have a little more urgency about fixing it. I pay $55 a month for 100ms ping, 3meg up, and 50 meg down, and that's already insane WITHOUT the whole damn thing being as reliable as a Ford Tempo. I'm frankly so frustrated I keep reaching for my phone to just call the bastards and cancel my service now, but then I remember that there are quite literally no other viable options in the area.

I have Comcast and I think I'm one of the only people alive that doesn't hate them. Solid service, fast connection and only 67 bucks.

Well done sir. I thought you were wanting the Fiesta ST? I think they're both awesome though.

Oh and I have Time Warner Cable. Probably the best internet I've had in years. $50/mo for 50 mb/s.

never wanted the fiesta, too small for me, even if it does speak my language. loving the focus, fully optioned except for sunroof and painted wheels and calipers. crazy fun.
