I can't wait for the pics. Oh. and I ordered my b-quiet right from the b-quiet website and the total for all 50 feet of extreme was 90 with rush delivery.
I hate to tell you this, but look at that again... If you got ultimate , and you only paid $90, and that includes the rush delivery, I think you may have accidentally gotten the 12 sq ft instead of 50 sq ft!

Even the 50 sq ft of b quiet extreme, is $78.19 (with 8% discount) before delivery, and with rush delivery, the price jumps to $111.59

I looked at the price on the bquiet website, and I went with the ebay dealer because it was a better deal than going with the website! Check your order again my friend!

Yes, I am only going with Infinity for the center channel 3.5"... I will mount the tweeters from the Boston Acoustic components in the position of the left and right 3.5" dash speakers! No company makes good 3.5" speakers! And trust me, the components will sound better than any 3.5" speaker I could have used to replace the right and left dash speakers!

I thought I had a decent set up, but yours is going to be a monster. Are you going to be using a Metra Double DIn Kit or the OEM Nissan Double Din for the dash piece?

Nope, I haven't. I'm new to this site and I don't venture out of the 4th gen/coupe forums. I guess it doesn't matter which dash kit you used because you have a carbon fiber overlay on it. Did you get the PAC-PS for the steering wheel controls? I've seen some of those pictures before, they are not all of your car, are they?

NO, the pics on how to get to the vss wire are not mine, I ulled them from another forum... no need to re-invent the wheel!

Regarding the PAC-SWI PS... Ijust followed the instructions! It was pretty simple and straight forward!

I knew those pictures looked familiar I did follow the instructions but the thing wouldn't program. I'll just give it another shot later on. I'll probably be going to Stillen, so I hope to catch a glimpse of your set up.

You scared me for a second there haha. I called up just to make sure. I used a coupon code for 10% off with my order, as well as the 8% off. Its the extreme not the ultimate, and the extreme is 84.99 each. There was a price mix up though, I had rush delivery checked, but when I applied the 10% off coupon it somehow got unchecked and I looked past it by accident. but its quoted coming the 15th, which is one of three days off i have next week. plenty of time for the whole write up and install.
Mr. Music wrote:Oh, and vballer, as far as I know, the basic process for making fiberglass enclosures is a bit like this: first, you gotta know what you want it to look like, then with lots of patience, you make a wooden frame and cover it with fiberglass fabric and resin. Then numerous coats of bondo (sanding between each coat), prime/paint, and install!
Haha I appreciate the knowledge I really do, and thank you, but what I meant was I have yet to see a PORTED box. Ive built a few fiberglass boxes in the past, and if its built right its by far superior.

vballer22, check out this post on the 'other' forum: http://www.nissanclub.com/foru....html

Those are some good pictures of a ported fiberglass enclosure, and info on how to do it. (I know I shouldn't really post links to other forums but there's too many pics and other info for me to link to directly).

I see that the coupon code CCA gives you 10% off but what code gives you the additional 8%?

-I know you can get it cheaper on ebay, but I'm thinking it will be easier to follow up with them if I have any issues and they will ship faster if ordered directly, worth the extra 10$ or so.

the 8% discount has ended... it was a promo they were doing for their 8 year anniversary I believe!

Single T212D4 wired at 2Ohm on the T1500-1bd comes out to 1000W unless the amp is overpowered? The sub itself is 1000w rms. btw you wouldn't need the capacitors for that small amount of power just a second sealed battery would work fine with a big 3 upgrade using 1/0 awg cable. I perfer second skin or cascade sound deadener's only need one layer of it. I'm not trying to bash you or make you look bad just suggestions bro. good luck with your sound system.Reviews on sound deadener's http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/

Have you ever owned or installed Rockford's POWER line of amps or subs? If so, you'd know that reciting specs from amps and subs means NOTHING when dealing with RF.

The T2 states that it handles 1000W RMS, but, wired at 2 ohms, it'll actually be fine up to about 1300 RMS, give or take a little. And the T15001-bd states 1000W RMS at 2 ohms, but birthsheet values range between 1100 and 1250 RMS at 2 ohms, and about 1700 RMS at 1 ohm (that doesn't concern this scenario though)

1/0 gauge kit is unecessary for this setup, 2 Ga will work just fine, especially Rockford's 2 gauge kit. People go with off brand kits that say 1/0 gauge, and they usually get a 2-4 gauge wire wrapped in thick instulation, or they get crappy copper coated wires rather than complete oxygen free copper wires.

Regarding sound deadener, I had dynamat extreme on my last setup, and wanted to try B quiet Ultimate out since Mike Young spoke so highly of it during his wirte up in nissan performance magazine a few years back.

I'm not exactly sure why you'd think you'd offend me or "make me look bad".. Car audio/video has been a hobby of mine for about 10 years now, and ALL 10 have involved rockford products, from the original punch 75 amp and audiophile subwoofers to Punch HE, HE2, and HX2 subwoofers. I've owned 6 different types of Rockford amps, at least 12 different types of subs, and have designed this most recent system after careful consideration of the A/C's trunk space, box requirements, power needs vs wants, need for a great component setup, etc, etc, etc.

So while I do appreciate your input, I don't really think you have much to offer me regarding opinions on a Rockford Fosgate sound system.... but thanks for stopping by!

I'm goiing for max SPL and perfect mids... I decided to do a further upgrade on the RCA cables.. I'm going with Rockford's Competition grade Matrix RCA's.. they discontinued them because most people didsn't want to spend $60 for a set of RCA's! I now have everything except the T2 sub... gonna order that next week! I'll go by the shop and take a pic of everything today!

First off I was asking if the amp was overpowered.. as in the extra 200w you said the birthsheet tells you. I never suggested a 1/0 kit for your amp - I was talking about a big 3 upgrade and what cable size would be best to use with it. Sound deadener well I posted a link to a site which had a review on SD. Btw from your post it sounds to me you took it exactly the I thought you would so sorry..

i understand you were trying to be helpful, I guess i took it the wrong way..

in any case, thanks for the link of the sound deadener showdown. The thing that really matters is ALF and durability at REASONABLE temperatures! My B quiet ultimate did very well at cold and warm temperatures, and given the price, I'd say I'm in 1st place regarding my choice!

As seen on the Bquit website, the b quiet ultimate does very well regarding ALF also!

I am going to order some of the luxury liner from second skin. (its cheaper than b quiet's V comp). thanks again for the link!

Two T1's would sound great, especially if being pushed by either the T1000-1bd or T1500-1BD amp. I had two T1's in my last setup... it's pretty damn loud, couldn't keep it at Max volume for long!

The problem is space!!! Eash sub requires 2.25 cu ft of space in a ported box, and they don't sound good at all in a closed box.

The trunk in the A/C is so small, you'd lose your whole trunk to the box!

with my box with two type r's each taking 1.3 cu ft, I literally had to finish the box in the trunk, if it was fully assembled theres no way thats gonna fit in that opening! honestly, the very first setup I used, which was just a test enclosure, I actually folded the rear seats down and sat the box on top. The A/C is so small!

OK my friends, I've almost finished buying the necessary pieces... final price... ~ 5,000.00 out the door.... yeah I know, but it'll be worth it and I'm not doing anything else to the car for at least 6 months - a year!

Anyway, I added some extra stuff including the new Kenwood DNX-8120, and a nice surprise for the trunk... sorry not gonna tell the surprise until showtime, but for those coming to the Stillen meet.. you'll see it then, and for the rest, I'll post it after the Stillen meet....
