I like how you went stealth on the speakers. How do the stock dampers hold up under the extra weight of the speakers on the lid? I'd love to hear it, but I'm oh so far away...
you guessed it! the NISSAN logo you see is in plexiglass, and it lights up blue .. i can control the lighting from my Kenwood DNX-8120... its pretty sick! ...regarding the speakers, yeah, its crazy because it just looks like a design, but when you play the system with the trunk up, it sounds like you're in the car!
The Hood dampers hold up perfecty, its a little harder to open it, but once opened, it holds up like a champ!

yes this is pimp my ride quaity work because one of the guys that worked on this actually did some work with pimp my ride... the other guy worked with Syndicate here in San Diego... Actually, trunkwise, I'm looking pretty good. There's plexiglass over the amps and caps, but we also have another wooden floor to cover everything up when I'm not showing off the trunk. We were able to lower the floor a bit also when we pulled out that thick styrofoam stuff in there, as well as the metal support bracket in the back of the trunk that also steals about 4 inches of depth from us!
If any of you guys want more trunk space, you should go out and just remove all that crap in there, including the spare tire, and metal support thingie in the back, and you'll see there's more trunk space than what meets the eye
Vballer22 wrote:Doc, how does it sound when the trunk is closed? Ive still got some serious rattles even after 50 feet of bquiet and dynamat just in the trunk. I even did the lid.
trunk doesn't sound bad at all, I definately dynamatted a lot of the trunk, including those pocket areas down on the sides of the trunk... Also, I broke off the pressure relief valves in the trunk and dynamatted over the remaining pieces!
Lastly, we rewrapped EVERYTHING in the trunk with black suede, including the plastic piece where the trunk lid comes down and latches on the bottom... And since we wrapped the lid with black suede where the speakers and extra monitor are housed, when the trunk closes, that's soft suede on soft suede instead of metal on plastic, thus elimating another potential place for rattling!
