Yeah, keeping the foot out. I actually lost ~4 mpg with my tune, but I suspect it's running really rich from idle to about 2-2.5k (right where the dyno runs start from). I need to install a wideband O2 to confirm, but I've told the shop/tuner and they said to bring it back by for a tweak. I used to get (city/hwy) ~22/27 before the tune and sometimes as high as 30+mpg on the hwy. Now I'm geting like 18/23 with only an occasional boost blast and shifting around 3k. Also, I jsut realized, I only ever got 30+mpg on the hwy when I still had those really light Team Dynamics 15's with 195/60.

Yeah, I'm aournd 10:1 on the dyno. Have an LC-1 Wideband, but haven't installed it yet. But would probably want a replacement SAFC2 to do some fine tuning with sometime soon as well.

My mpg was also probably helped by the fact that I was running lean before the tune lol. I don't know about an SAFC2 biggie. I thought over time those caused issues bc the ECU is "tricked" only on the airflow/fuel side. The timing is not adjusted and your fuel & ignition maps get screwed up as the ECU "learns", leading to drivability issues and eventually, detonation. Might be better to dyno a few runs (most shops have wideband O2 sensors for their dynos) and talk to JWT about the results/send them in to tweak the tune.

After a week of daily tuning with a wideband, LM1, I had my AFR's right in the 12.5:1 range under load and steady mid 14's at idle. That was with 440's, stock ecu and a SAFCII. I used a MSD BTM for timing. I'd get the occasional back fire on decel, never was able to get rid of that.

Anyway, when you're gonna start tuning I'm down to assist. Get that turbo of yours breathing finally, damn thing has been set on asthma level :chuckle:

I wouldn't be surprised if you were between 300 and 350 if you'd crank the wick to a even bar and lean that girl out some.

I'm just not going to push it yet. I'd love to set it to 13+psi, but don't have any money for a rebuild currently. I'm trying to do body/paint on both S13s before engine work, long ways to go. Probably switch to AEM standalone or Nistune when built.

Wow, how far back did they move the motor? Lots of fab work. I have Nistune btw biggie. If you go that route, just go to nistune's website and look up their workshop/distributor listing for tuners. I don't see any listed on their site in NC though.

Anybody know where I can get info on re-pinning a maf connector, I been searching and all the info is for resoldering the inside of the maf. I need to replace one of the wires on the car side harness connector. I have a pin but can't figure out how to get the old one out and I'm scared to break it.

Thanks anyway guys, I found a similar connector on a spare chopped harness that I had and got it figured out. After a few ruined pins and connectors it's not hard at all to replace after you figure out the process. :dblthumb:

I should be good to go, turbo and all. LMK when you plan to paint, I wouldn't mind soaking up some knowledge. What part of DE are you in?

TDC Auto tuned a friend's car with Nistune, that's the only place I know of in NC though.

I wouldn't mind heading up there, it's something I've thought about for a while now and the car might actually be reliable enough to make it haha.

For those of you who care about my car updates, the ebay cast iron manifold literally put my exhaust housing on top of my brake lines out of the master, it's the shape of the Holset exhaust housing that did it. I've ordered a new bottom mount t2 mani and a t3 flange, after adding an external wg port to it I should finally be back to boosting.

Hope the new manifold works out Chris. I'm just working on tweaks (on the tune really) and clean ups for the next couple months. WD, I had hoped to go to Carlisle this yr, but b/t school and work requirements, it's not going to happen :(

Took me 6 years to start to building toys again after having kids. They were on their way so had to sell my GTI, my ZX6R, and my bong. After 6 years of all my money going to my kids I finally got a bike back, now I want to sell it cause I lost my edge to ride and I am always worried about getting hit from the many morons that reside in the Baltimore/Washington area. Stuff I didn't think about before I had kids. 2 years ago I got my 240, slowly getting it done with any spare money which is hard to come by when you have kids. The bong........well that's a different story. Just pretended to get rid of it, and I am just more careful when I use it in the garage......ha ha. Can't give up everything or it will drive you insane. Moral: Have kids when your ready, after the first 1 there is no going back. I wouldn't take them back for the world but damn I miss being irresponsible.

Bummer, if your duty cycle is that high than your maf isn't too far off either. Might want to turn the boost down a little...or get 550cc's and a z32 mafs haha.

Yeah, MAF is at 4.60 volts, .40 away from maxing out.
I have a Z32 maf already, just need to buy the injectors and get a retune. Not sure if I should buy Deatschwerks again, or cough up the dough for Nismos.

I'll try to keep my penor under control lol. She had a round of strong antibiotics (flagyl) and I forgot that abx reduce the effectiveness of birth control. We want kids one day, but have seriously contemplated adopting older kids instead of having our own. I dunno, we'll see. Razi, I'd suggest going with whatever your tuner likes. JWT probably has their preferences of what they like tuning with.

I'm just iffy on buying Deatschwerks because I'm worried that they are just badly redrilled OEMs.

Heeey Ryoooon! lol. Razi, see that's what I don't know anymore. Deatschwerks supposedly uses new cores, so mabye they are actually manufactured now instead of re-drilled. Regardless, I will end up buying something like Nismo, HKS, MSD, Injector Dynamics etc. when I upgrade. I used Deastchwerks service to clean and test my injectors in the rail, but those were my stock injectors.
