Im surprised they dont give you a ticket for going 1mph over the speed limit just because they figure you wont be around to fight the ticket. I get ridiculous speeding tickets every time I cross over into california. One time I was in california and this big suv (with cali plates) blows my doors off right in front of a cop. Im doin about 15 over so im assuming the suv was doing at least 30 over... maybe more. The cop just watches the cali-plated suv barrel on down the road and then pulls out behind me and flips his lights on. I wasnt in cali durring the court date so I had no chance to get the ticket fee lowered. He knew I wouldnt be. F*** the CHP.chaos2000 wrote:Sucks about getting plled over man, i got an sr swap but since im in the military an im from georgia i get to register my car there so all the police can do is give me mean looks as i pass by, lol.

I didn't read all the posts, but I did notice under body style the officer wrote down silvia.
I wanna say no but you just never know sometimesMetal Angel wrote:So if I am driving with my oregon plates in cali I cant get tickets for mods?
After so many days of driving around without Cali plates you can get a ticket. But then again unless you have douchebag neighbors or drive past the same cop twice a day I doubt you'll get in trouble, just need a good story to tell the officer if you get pulled over, I know of people from like Oregon and Washington who go to UTI here in Sac and don't have to swap their plates....but yeah you can't get in trouble not their duty to enforce laws from other statesMetal Angel wrote:So if I am driving with my oregon plates in cali I cant get tickets for mods?
lol i second that.....s13beast wrote:If a cop here ask you to pop your hood then he is probably a nissan fan and wants to check the goods out. haha

There is a place near me called Lake county that does not have smog. I wish I do what he does with his mail haha.carps13guy wrote:

Is that True story?mattblancarte wrote:CA isn't so bad. Hell, I bought my car (with rb26) from a CA State Highway Patrolman.
He told me his supervisor wasn't thrilled when he drove it to work one day, so he sold it to me.

that's my dad's old 67 barracuda, the "R" on it is to designate the rear of the car cover. He sold it maybe a few months back.
Old cars are the way to go here in CA, I'd love me a 70 240z with a rb25det in it

i've seen your exhaust and it looks stock as hell being black and all but what did he pull you over for? As far as I know the cops must have probable cause to pop your hood like a modified exhaust or w/eRazi wrote:Damn that sucks Josh.I've gotten my hood popped and the cop only bugged me about my manifold. He couldn't see my turbo cause it's bottom mount. :P
My muffler is painted black except the tips, so it looks pretty stock. He didn't bother me about my exhaust either.
Hope you get the stuff resolved!
No. The law says you have like 10 days. I even heard guys with AZ plates get ref tickets here in Nazifornia.Metal Angel wrote:So if I am driving with my oregon plates in cali I cant get tickets for mods?

You better check with your states standards on probable cause before you get the officer even more pissed off and makes your day even worst.YOUNG240SX wrote:And honestly i wouldn't pop my hood for no cop,ill be asking for search warrant to check anything in/on my car.
Ehhh i hear on that but there probable cause better than"These honda and nissan get stolen alot for parts, soo i just wanna make sure etc,etc,etc.duffman1278 wrote:

In St. Louis you can get away with anything. I've been ticketed twice for no exhaust (open downpipe on my SR) and got out of the ticket twice, with the same excuse. "Oh, I just bought this car and it's a mess, I'm in college etc. " I showed a picture of my old rusty exhaust I pulled off the car and judges just write it off. side note, you could possible get out of that since its not a silvia. A friend of mine in st.louis got his lawyer to get a speeding ticket thrown out because in the courts eye the officer wasnt doing his job properly, he looked at the front headlight plate and wrote down silvia also . just a thought, i dont know how cali works out there
