^California Highway Patrol has the authority to inspect your vehicle if they have a reasonable suspicion that your vehicle has been illegally modified. They don't ASK you to pop it, they TELL you lol

and i want something around 200-220hp not too much just a daily driver

Condition of motor i think its okay maybe machine shop my head and get a new timing chain as well but idk yet

and for the budget waiting on next quarters financial aid lol and well recently got a job my 2nd day there lol
well i'd say hold off on the ka-t for now and get some money saved up to fix and freshen up your ka with any necessary maintenance first. You don't wanna be broke with a non reliable ka-t. Compression test your motor, measure valve shim clearances and change any necessary gaskets and seals first. Depending on how cheap you wanna make it, you can get stock sr20 parts to bolt on the ka with the exception of the manifold(not sure if they make a bottom mount t2 manifold for the SOHC ka tho?) and make 200 whp no problem

They don't make bottom mount KAE turbo manifolds from what I know.

And yes, the cops here can pull you over and tell you to pop your hood if they have a suspicion that your car is modified. Makes me piss me pants everytime a cop pops up behind me, thank goodness my car looks stock.

Spooled, do you think you'll be at the meet next week?I might drop by next week.

aww you might be outta luck w/ that one s13dwa, I think you should just do the DE swap tho since it's pretty cheap, aftermarket parts are pretty readily available and you can pick one up w/ somewhat low mileage. But if you're gonna do an engine swap, you should just consider an sr swap and be done with it lol

razi i might be there next week, i hope they are not pissed at us tho...my friend daniel revved his rb20 to the moon like an idiot haha ..sounded f***in nice tho

I love it, its 80 degrees in November! lol No mosquitoes while Im working on my car at night, and more 240s at one meet than Ive seen in my life.

Ive been to a couple of meets and people seem pretty chill too, I gotta find someone to help me with my SR though.

fo sho, the import scene in general is pretty badass out here in CA. What meets have you gone to? I wanna hit up an LA meet sometime, maybe me and some friends will caravan and roll hella deep so we look soooo cool when we pull in r or if you ever have a chance to be in rancho cucamonga on a wed night you can check out the meet at deiffen's, it gets pretty good some days when the weather's decent.

hm i don't seem to remember you cody240 but I remember seeing your camaro next to my buddy's 280z. maybe i'll come out next week

Socals import scene is soo awsome. But I have nothing to compare it too lol I havn't lived anywhere else.

What do you need help with Driftboy? If it's not that much I might be of some assistance, I mean I did do my own swap.

Trust its better than where Im from Im running rich at like 10.0 AFR, car goes into safe mode @ 2500-3k which means its the MAF right? Ive tried 3 and Im trying another next week. The difference with the next one is I KNOW its out of a working car, if that doesnt fix it then Ill be looking for more assistance.

Sorry for the jack spooled.

well i would rather pick up a ka24de than a sr since i think they are not good if i would get a ticket like in your case just down grade compared to swaping all the motor and wiring which would suck lol do you know of any place that would sell the motor in fairly good shape/rebuilt??

and talking about LA im down to roll to a meet with you i go to LA alot since i grew up there lol so let me know man im down to roll

Awhile back actually, around the early 90's Japanese were apparently big on american muscle cars. I read that they were importing our cars to Japan.

I think it was old cars like 57 chevy's and stuff. Back in the 90's the american economy sucked and the dollar sucked so these japanese guys would come over here with 20,000 dollars and take a classic car back with them.

the 240 scene in rancho/fontana is pretty good, there's definitely a lot of s13's around

Super stealthy. I hate it when they cruise behind you, its like they just wanna f*** with you and freak you out then pull away. Then again Id much rather them f*** with me than actually pull me over
